Heads up - as thin as the tape is, it’s still adding extra pressure on the corners where you’ve placed it behind the paper. That’s possibly why the center of the inked impression was lighter, because there was less pressure in the center than the corners/edges 🙃

Very nice cards! FYI, was watching another video on using the BetterPress and the maker had put a loop of tape in the middle of the card and was having issues with getting a good impression (she tried it 3 times, I believe) and finally realized it was the tape that was the issue. Her impression was perfect once she removed it.

I love these and thanks for showing these techniques of putting down a medium and the BetterPress still works beautifully. Also, was wondering how this cotton paper would take other mediums and you answered my questions. I just unboxed my Betterpress and used it this week and yup, had a gap in my finished panel because the tape was there. Thanks so much for all you do for us out here. We appreciate you.

Oh my goodness Cathy, at first I thought to myself 😬 "what is she doing"? As always you pulled it off. Those are so hauntingly beautiful. 😂 🎃👻
It seemed light in the middle because it was. The tape on the back acted as a shim on the edges of the paper. I always just tape the corners and have never had an issue.
Can’t wait till my plate gets here.
Ranger Archival Stamp cleaner is recommended.

Cathy I have heard that using tape on the back of the paper like this causes the ink to not get pressed into the paper. Do it again with the tape on the corners and see if there is difference. BTW, great cards! Ciao:)

Love both of these, but I L O V E the black/purple!! Very cool! I don't have a Spellbinder system, so I'm a little sad I can't do this one. 😿
I think it works with a Big Shot, too, if I'm not mistaken.

Looking for some help here. What is the difference between a stamp and Better Press System?
The BetterPress is a letter press system. Letterpress uses metal plates to press the image into a piece of paper, and when you ink it up, it transfers the ink at the same time. So you are getting a debossed stamped image. As opposed to one that sits on top of the paper, like a regular stamped image.

I'm not buying that system have no interest but I have lots of stamps that would be easier to do with black heat embossing
