Cathy, I love that you try new and inventive things with your cards. You speak as though we are all in the room with you and that makes it so easy to watch. I like this card but would never have the patience to do all this for a little lite…and the price of lights is just not in this crafters budget. Thanks for all you do for this community!
Unfortunately, despite how cool it is, no one I know would keep the card long enough for me to put the effort into the light feature. I love the paper you used for the cake layers! It looks like a marble cake! I might have to get those dies cuz I have a bunch of paper like that!
Watching the replay in Illinois. 😊 Looking forward to see how this is done! OK, too tedious for this old lady stamper! Great card! Wish I had the required patience to make it. TFS
Love your demo and beautiful card. Love your perseverance and filming without trying it out first. This is why people love you Cathy we learn from your errors xx
Oh, my goodness, Cathy, you make me giggle! The card is adorable! I just bought some lights to make cards with, so I found this video exactly when I needed to. I can't believe I missed it before now! It's nice that you show your mistakes so we can learn from them. Thank you for your fun, inspirational videos!
I LOVE this! I turned 40 in September and my husband got me a triple layer triple chocolate cake in pinks and rose gold. This reminds me so much of that cake. 🎂❤️
Thank you for sharing this, as I too, have had a light, that I have not used yet- now I have no excuse for not using it😉 such acute card-live that paper too!
I so appreciate you and your realness, Cathy! I continually run through a gamut of emotions when I watch your videos. Lots of aha moments and always a lot of laughing along and saying, "yep!" but I never, ever fail to learn something new. Now I need to try my first light up card.... Hugs to you.
Yes, I was taking pics, feeling so accomplished… then I realized my error! hahahah! Thanks so much again, for sending! Next, I tackle the three-light lights!
This is EXACTLY how it would go for me if I tried to engineer a light up card! My mind isn’t wired to handle it, haha. Loved seeing it all come together!
Cathy Zielske - When you are clipping off the nodules that remain on the dies, put you index finger on your right hand over the clipper blades (above the hollow out section with the blade at the place to be cut). Then when you clip it, the flying metal will be contained by you finger and not fly all around the room to be stepped on bare footed!
I love your card! I like that you used the gem for the flame too. I have those lights and I've had them for a few months. Maybe it's time to use them. I'm thinking I'll use them for a star on top of a tree for a Christmas card. I love that you keep it authentic because we all make mistakes. Thank you for being you! ❤
So glad you did this video as like you, I've had those lights sitting and have been afraid to try and make a card with them. Kudos to you for completing it and making it work. Maybe I can get my courage up now to try one. Thanks so much.
Cathy, this is really cute! I think most of us crafters are fussy about our finishes on our work. We’re perfectionists. I haven’t done cards with the lights either. Waiting until I can afford them better in time. 😊❤️🇨🇦
I just know I would have similar problems as you had. I'm a klutz when it comes to things like that. You did it and I think I have a few old things like that too that I may feel brave enough to try now . ha ha ha ha. I was so happy when it lit up. pat
Oooo that’s beautiful. I was thinking the patterned paper could also be the fondant on the cake and the buttercream inside with plain sponge layers and it would look like a marble design cake 😍 Px
Love that patterned paper. I was quoting you in my head yesterday -- trying to cash a check my body can't cash. I had an idea for a shaker card but I just couldn't figure it out. It seemed so simple in my head. . .
I've made several light up cards. I put the battery where it can be replaced. That way there are no excuses for tossing it in the trash.
Love the die and the candle is de-LIGHT-ful! (Ouch…sorry for the corny pun…I’m really tired). Thank you for the demonstration.
Love a good pun!
using one of those lights would be fun for a Hannukah card!
Cathy, I love that you showed your oops & kept going. Beautifully card.
Great card! And the devil is always in the details...who would have thought that battery...?

Thanks for watching!
This card was worth it because it's spectacular
Lynn Le Bel that's a great card!! So wonderful that it is interactive!!
I had to laugh at your telling the battery to stay. It worked about as well as giving a cat a command 😂
This is what I love about your channel. Not only do you show beautiful cards but try new things with all the ups and downs.
Oh just love this. Watching you figure things out is a hoot! Thanks for the joy. 😅
I've never made a card that lights up👏👏👏I can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing❤❤❤
I picture this with white icing and multi colored sprinkles! Yummy looking card.
Gorgeous!! And (reasonably) easy. Thanks for keeping it real, Cathy. 😅
So sweet and cool card, Cathy! Thank you my teacher! 😘 Hvala!😊
Hvala to you!

Couldn’t be more perfect! I always wondered how to use those lights..very cool. Can we learn how to put music in a card next? ♥️

Love this card. And love how you keep it real.
I love that you show us your successes and not so successes. You are amazing!
I try! we all mess up!
I so appreciate you and your realness, Cathy! I continually run through a gamut of emotions when I watch your videos. Lots of aha moments and always a lot of laughing along and saying, "yep!" but I never, ever fail to learn something new. Now I need to try my first light up card.... Hugs to you.

Nails are lookin’ awesome ♥️♥️♥️
What a gorgeous card Cathy! 🤩🤩🤩 Haha, I've installed the battery upside down on accident once too 😂

Oh what a wonderful card! And a super fun video x
How sweet Cathy
Great card and this video is hysterical! Love your reality.
This is EXACTLY how it would go for me if I tried to engineer a light up card! My mind isn’t wired to handle it, haha. Loved seeing it all come together!
Yep! I had fun though! hahah
So 🥰 hard work does pay off👍
The icing part cut from the swirled paper would have been nice with cake slices in pink.

I laughed out loud when you said you’d include the QR code to this video for the recipient!😂
This was a great video! Love the light 👏🏼🩷
I love your videos but this one is perfect. Thank you for your honest, fun, and informative videos. You are awesome! K😊

Yes, get them out and give it a go!
You did a great job Cathy. I keep meaning to pick some up, and give that a try.
Late to the party 😢. Love the nails. I’m all in for cake 🎉
So glad you did this video as like you, I've had those lights sitting and have been afraid to try and make a card with them. Kudos to you for completing it and making it work. Maybe I can get my courage up now to try one. Thanks so much.
Last year I did a Christmas tree with lights on it. It was so cute but I forgot how I did it. Thanks for reminding me. Janet Hockenberry
Strawberry swirled marble with raspberry (purple)
Fantastic card. I to have lights. I have not made a card with yet. Thank you for this video. I might have to try and make one now.
This is darling, if I got this, I would definitely keep. Too pretty to toss!💜
Love this slice of cake

Fun video! Really don't think I'd ever spend the money and the time/effort though. What about a gizmo that plays music?
Love it, Cathy! Thanks for keeping your videos “real”. ❤️
LOVE your determination!!! That's me too. "I can make this work" And you DID!! Good job Cathy ❤
That is an amazing card! I love that you showed the ups and downs of making it so we know what to expect if we ever make one. Thank you!
Great video Cathy ❤😂❤ now go and have a good long fruit salad
Cake can be any color a person wants (even black)! Anything works. Yours look very yummy. Thank you for sharing. Audra
Super cute!!

Such a beautiful cake! And so fun with the light on the candle.
Super Cute!!!
This is so great! ❤❤❤
Bravo!🎉 That is gonna be one lucky friend to receive this spectacular card!🥰
Such a cool card!!!
Delicious!
Oooo that’s beautiful. I was thinking the patterned paper could also be the fondant on the cake and the buttercream inside with plain sponge layers and it would look like a marble design cake 😍 Px
Wow I have to try this! 😮
Love that patterned paper.
I was quoting you in my head yesterday -- trying to cash a check my body can't cash. I had an idea for a shaker card but I just couldn't figure it out. It seemed so simple in my head. . .
There are not enough hot pink cakes out there!
Beautiful paper
Just joined. Hmmm did somebody say cake??????
Great job, Cathy! Question is the picture on the die envelope backward? It looks like your cake faces the opposite direction.
Yes, i believe it is!
I have attempted to recreate this 3 times and failed. I can't get my foam thin enough
Oh no! Well, try the smallest, sharpest scissors you have to cut the foam. : ) It can be tricky to do!
So cute but all you needed to do was put the pull in after you put everything together it should just slip in.
I will try that next time!
