Hi , I have a question , If someone wants to go for audition for Nickelodeon shows , do they have chances to be chosen , and what we got to do if we want to be chosen
In all honesty, I would love more than anything to be featured in a major motion picture on the big screen. That’s because when you watch these films in a movie theater, it’s a full experience: the score, the larger than life sound, and then to think that you could work your butt off to pour your absolute best into a movie and then take a step back and enjoy your work, that sounds so fulfilling to me😊 P.S. I just watched Black Widow today and you did a fantastic job, major props man!
Hey Kurt, Thank you for your content! I have been watching your content for about 2 years. In that time I have worked as an Extra, gotten a Talent agent, and taken so many classes! I am based in the Chicago market. The info you’ve provided has been so helpful and it has been exciting to see you in more and more television series/features. Congratulations on or success and your work. Best, Ameer
I wanted to pursue it to be a good actor and most importantly to be more extrovert to confident in myself and maybe I'll be happier doing this I guess.....
Dude. My nickname is Chad but my name is Kurtis lol. And I really want to become an actor! You are helping soooo much! You have no clue how much I appreciate you!
I love watching your videos it gives very good tips and i am currently reading books on acting and i recorded one Monologue and I can't wait do my first audition for backstage and be part of a film!
Thanks Kurt I almost got the lead role of Alexander in Alexander and the horrible no good bad day Disney plus staring Eva Longoria Jesse Garcia I was one of the few picked world wide
I really want to become an actor specifically in movies and tv shows and your a lot of help thank you so much could you do a video on how to be a breakout star
Never had any luck with Facebook groups. Too many amateurs making promises and not following through or asking way too much of you for nothing in return. If any of those projects did pan out, the experience I got out of it was of such low quality that it didn't translate into how real productions work. If you're going that route- you're better off finding friends and making projects on your own just to get used to being in front of and around the camera. Actors Access is the only site I have ever gotten auditions or booked any real work from without having an agent. Training in a decent class and doing workshops is the best advice here from my experience. One of the only benefits of the post-covid world is access to better teachers online since most in-person classes have been forced to shut down.
Absolutely agree that there are many amateurs in Facebook groups. Every once in a while I've seen legitimate projects posted in those groups. Here in Atlanta, I've seen some local casting directors post in a FB group to announce that they have just put a new project up on Actors Access.
Wow. Thanx for sharing vital information. I’m an actor living and working in Denmark and have had a lot to learn about castings abroad through your videos! Very good if you to share your brilliant videos. Thumbs up Kurt
Kurt your awesome. Love your help and work. I'm interested in commercials, Commercial print and VO for industrial/commercials. I'll began using a lot of your suggestions and have already made a lot of traction. Thanks for everything and be well.
Always love your tips. Unfortunately, since the virus, I'm struggling have to suspend my audition or short film project, trying to avoid the unknown ppl. Are you still on set? I kinda feel I'm a little bit too much worried.
I get most of my auditions from actors’ access and a few from casting network. I heard casting frontier isn’t reliable and backstage, I don’t know how many auditions I can get from that. I am only interested in film and TV. Voiceover and podcasts are fine. Theater is not my thing May try the Facebook thing
My wish is to play an important role in Stranger Things. Also I have developed some new ideas for future seasons of Stranger Things. Hoping to get a chance to present my ideas to the Duffer Brothers
I ve got a question what If i live in a town (around 180 000 habitants) but it is in Poland. And I am not really interested in auditions in my country, I would prefer for example in Great Britain or US but it is quite far away and I am a kid. What would you do in my place?
I would say to focus on auditions in your country because that is where you live. If you want to audition for projects in the US or UK, you would have to move there before you could start.
I would love to be in a movie, because there you can kind of make friendships with other actors and if you make a mistake, you can just refilm that scene and it's all good
Hi Kurt, when you have time, could you do a small video on building a portable self taping package. I was vacationing in my RV and I was asked to audition for a commercial which was a BIG challenge. Your help is always appreciated.
thank you for this info but the websites you said are not free you have to pay to actually audition through there website, im just a little confused about this. would love If you could get back to me :)
Yes, you're right. Sorry if that was misleading. Using facebook groups and following casting directors on social media is completely free. Actors Access and Casting Networks both allow you to browse the casting boards for free to find projects to audition for. But yes, they do require a payment to actually submit for the role. Backstage requires a subscription to browse and submit for roles although they do offer a free trial. If you are going to pay for a service, my opinion is that the annual subscription to Actors Access (currently $64), is the best value for the money. Not only do you get unlimited submissions and auditions, you also get access to Showfax, which provides audition sides for tons of current projects. Even if you aren't auditioning, that is a great resource to get practice audition sides.
If you want to audition for American movies, it's virtually impossible to do while living in another country. You would most likely need to move to the US before you can start an acting career in American movies.
i’m a 15 year old guy from around the bay area. i really wanna get into acting and i wanna start small, but grab every opportunity i can get. i have no acting experience, but i wanna get into it. (also, i don’t know if this is relevant, but i’ve been doing online school for the past year or so, so there’s no school clubs open to me)
I got mine on Etsy. I can't find it anymore 😭 But here's a similar one! www.etsy.com/listing/625727806/life-finds-a-way-digital-a4-printable?ref=search_recently_viewed-1
Would you have to switch agents or move to some place else once you feel like you’ve made enough money and or credits on your resume to pursue a larger marketing area such as l.a.
Any tips on how you can sell yourself via emails with no acting experience? I'm just starting my acting journey, and I've been doing an acting workshop class near me, since September, but would also like to get experience through Facebook groups and casting agencies but not really sure how to sell myself as a valid candidate for the roles they're looking for.
I'm not familiar with the industry in other countries, unfortunately. I only have experience here in the United States. I would recommend asking your acting teachers about that
This is more of a legal issue than anything else. In the US, for example, in order to work here in any capacity (including acting), someone would need to be a US citizen, permanent resident, or have a work visa. So it's unlikely that someone from overseas would get an audition unless the fall into one of those categories
So I followed step #1. I found the "Talent Management for Actors" and was wondering if I could join them. It says they allow actors, talent agents, etc., and how they have real people in Hollywood helping you. It's a private FB group, and I was wondering if I could join even if it do not have an agent and have only been in one short film. What do you think?
I’m gonna move to LA can you help me out cause my father is not that interested and I’m just 13. Also good at studies. My father wants me to study before I become an actor, but he agree when I will get a good acting audition
It's not 100% necessary to have an agent to audition for things that pay. Casting websites like Actors Access and Casting Networks have publicly posted auditions that actors can submit to without an agent.
In order to work in the US as an actor, you will need an O1 visa. Do your research on that and talk to a lawyer about how to obtain one. Warning: there will be a lot of work involved. But many people have done it.
@JayJay Hibbs I don't know about every city in the country. I would recommend joining a local acting class and talking with the teachers and other students to get a feel for what the industry is like in your city.
Where do you currently get most of your auditions?
No where, im not an actor yet
