I want to get into acting but as a beginner in the industry who’s just trying to learn as much as possible right now I don’t have any credits, would this site be a good way to gain those?
yes, it's a good place to find auditions. Depending on where you live, there may be more or less. Voiceover work you can often do from home, as long as you have the proper equipment.
That has always been the struggle, however, now video auditions are much more acceptable which allows a little bit more flexibility. You will need to be able to take the time off once you book the job.
I was thinking about trying them, but their agreement that you agree to is long and complicated to read. Are you possibly signing away any future rights by agreeing to it?
Backstage is only a platform to find the casting notices. From there, you submit and hopefully get an audition. I have used Backstage and you can cancel any time.
I did not understand how you explained the pay reason for the website? Why and when do they actually request a payment from you. Is this after you at picked the role or is it a monthly fee
There is a monthly fee. It's a platform that people/production companies can use to post their auditions. So you pay one time per month to get access to all of the castings. You do NOT pay to audition.
If an agency is brand new and looking for new talent, you may be able to find some castings with open submissions. They are often looking for specific looks that they don't already have on their roster :)
YOU pay for the subscription to access the audition breakdowns. You only get paid for the job (from the production company, not Backstage) if you book it.
100% it's a great way to get and build experience with the jobs you book. You browse the projects you like and that are in your area, submit, and hopefully, you'll get an invite to audition :)
Yes. Backstage as a website IS legit. However, since anybody can post castings, not all of the castings/auditions will be. That's what's tricky about these sites.
So what do you think? Try it our or pass? ▶▶ Full blog article can be found here- caslinrose.com/best-backstage-com-review-is-backstage-com-legit/

Are there other sites that guarantee the link is legit? I live very close to the top film school in the world and it kind of reminds me of indeed.
ActorsAccess, Casting Networks, Casting Frontier, Backstage. They're all legit :)

Are you able to apply to Backstage without any experience?
