I personally haven't (own one to many sketchbooks of my own!). But I've seen positive reviews about it on Insta, TH-cam and Amazon. Maybe when I really NEED a new sketchbook and don't just want one, I'll buy it ::)
I bought the ohuhu bleed proof sketchbook as soon as it was released and did some similar testing. Definitely the BEST bleed proof sketchbook currently on the market. The only cons I had is that the paper is very thin (though that’s a personal preference) and the spiral bound sketchbook isn’t very high quality (while flipping through the sketchbook, the spirals became loose and the paper fell out). But besides that, the paper and sketchbook/paper is perfect for marker artists!
I haven’t been able to compare to other bleedproof pads on the market, so I’m glad to hear that this one is good! I’ll have to test the spirals a little more: I’ve been using the regular spiral sketchbooks for over a year now and haven’t had this issue, so I wonder if this one is slightly different.
Really glad you found it helpful! I tried to think of and cover all the essentials that I look for when using paper with markers. I’m quite picky when it comes to paper, so I’m happy that this sketchbook works for me! ❤️
I'm sooo sad that their EU warehouse is sold out of these! This might genuinely be the best bleedthrough paper on the market, especially at that price point. Also, it was really helpful that you explained some of the unique aspects of this paper to keep in mind, like how the colours will look off before they dry. I'm certain you saved a bunch of people from a real scare there, hahah! And your OC is so cute! Always enjoy seeing your character work, and those signature gradients of yours are gorgeous!
Whaaaat, they’re still out of stock?! Hopefully soon they’ll come back in; they must be pretty popular upon release! I tried to be as thorough as possible and note absolutely everything that I felt would affect anyone using it, so I’m happy you’ve found it helpful! And thank you! I do love my gradients 🥹❤️
@@lornakelleherart Yeah haha, fingers crossed they restock soon, definitely seems worth the wait in any case. And you were really great with everything you covered! :D It really does show that you thought of everything a fellow artist might want to know about this, and put care into how you presented all the information. Felt informative and to the point, with the extra treat of getting to see your art in there. Fantastic work as always! :D
i've never gotten fully into alcohol markers cause of the bleeding through and the blending having to do so many layers, but this is making me reconsider, lol
Interesting to know! What’s the GSM? And like the person below has commented, watercolour paper is designed to quickly absorb a lot of liquid, so you might find you’ll be using more ink.
I didn't use alcohol marker that much because of the paper, do you think this one will be good with another brand of markers ? Like the Windsor & newton one ?
May I ask what refills you use for your Ohuhus? Since there still are only ~50 color refills available, I was wondering, how people refill their other markers. Or do you just buy a new marker?
@@lornakelleherart Yes, I know. I mean, how do you refill the colors that dont have refills yet? Do you just buy a new marker, since they are available open stock? Or do you use refills by other brands?
@@CadenRawlingswell, I’m guessing you don’t mean the spiral sketchbook. The glued pages sketchbook are pretty sturdy; you can by the test I did in the video
I haven't used it for paints, but pencils worked well, and both water and alcohol markers are good. I personally think it's as good as the 200gsm sketchbook!
That was a sweet review and I did wonder, if the ink would kind of pool in the paper, before it dries. Did you feel like the blending came easier because of that, or was it just a bit harder to know what would happen? I would think it makes it a bit more flexible like when you work wet in wet with watercolours…. I hope you keep using the paper for a while and keep us updated on that, Ms. Gradient-Queen. 🙌✨ That’s a super lovely page btw. Don’t know your OC. You better tell us more about them and their birb next time. 😋😂💕 (Or perhaps I’m just an inattentive goose.,,, 🪿)
Thank you so much! ♥ For me, I noticed the water-based markers would pool a little, since they take longer to absorb into the paper, thus there would be a higher chance of smearing the ink. The alcohol ink will absorb, but remains wet on the surface for a little longer than on regular paper, so it DEFINITELY helped with the blending process for me! I'm about 3 pages away from the end of my regular sketchbook, so I'll be moving onto this one as my main marker sketchbook! Ah, and I haven't spoken too much about Eve because she's pretty new and I'm trying to figure out a story for her: same with the birb! I'm not very creative when it comes to writing and world-story-telling 😅
@@lornakelleherart it warps for me....its like 70lb thickness on a metal sheet to stop bleedthrough. yes 70lbs so it warps easy if put much ink on it. the paper is not good.

I use markers onn my watercolor sketchbook from 5 Below and I haven't had any bleed through 😊❤
Probably you already know, the water colour or thick mixed media paper sucks the ink out of your marker faster than average paper

I can’t speak for W&N markers since I haven’t tried them on this paper! I did try with brands other than Ohuhu, and they withstood the bleedproof test
Thank you for your answer ! I will have a try on it, it seems worth it !
Ohuhu, if you're reading this, pleeeeeease release a bound square sketchbook with this paper 🙏 it would be a dream come true

If you use a particular colour a lot, it makes a lot more sense to refill it rather than buy a new marker. You can get approx 5 uses of the refill.
