    I feel terrible, that you have felt, like you need to justify your work/experiments, that you CLEARLY take a lot of your personal time and effort to help and show us all what would be suitable choices for us to make as COLOURISTS in books. But I am over the moon that you could come back on and stand up for yourself and actions.
    99.9% of us think you are amazing and a wonderful human being. I love your videos as a beginner. I don’t have much knowledge yet and there is so many things I could be buying that I would regret, thanks to you 😊❤
    We also appreciate that this is not your job. You do not get paid for the indepth reviews and experiments you us. Getting an occasional item sent for free, for testing doesn’t count, because the company make so much more in sales, than you do in videos

      @melody_tune991simms Thanks Melody. I was so excited for these pens, I thought they were going to be the answer to my double-sided colouring book prayers (especially at the moment when I can't use pencils). But when I tested them, disappointment set in as I realised they weren't going to perform any better *how I wanted to use them*
      So then when I get comments telling me I'm using the wrong paper or not using the pens how they're intended... I get disheartened and wonder why I bother. 🤷‍♀️

      I understand about the hands, I am in the long process of being tested for fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. Every day is different and I like having a choice or mediums because not colouring isn’t an option. I have recently (yesterday hasha) started a journal to enjoy with my colouring journal ans need pens that don’t bleed through. I have the Ohuhu journal set and the stadtler triplus but both have gone through the page. I will have to keep swatching till I find something. Aaah Lily, you have gone above and beyond as always ❤I dont have all the other pens you have, so it was interesting to see the developments and changes. I always wanted the Journal pens ( In the clear plastic tubs) but they were too pricey for me at the time. These look like a good set, and its great they are trying to make supplies that work better for us. Im not really sure what some folks expect when we show a product, it already takes hours to make these videos, and we dont get paid. Yes its fun seeing and trying out the new stuff, but we all have our own real jobs and time off is precious. Some times you just have to try them out yourself to see if they are for you, and send them back if not. You can't ever answer everyones questions. Super video, I do actually like these pens, I've been playing a bit with them this weekend, and I am enjoying them. Thanks for your investigations!👍

    • @ArtJourneyUK
      @ArtJourneyUK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @wendyscolouring Exactly Wendy. It takes at least 2-3 to prep, record and edit a video (especially a 55 minute one like last weeks!) and I'm always going to demonstrate the product from my perspective and in the way I'd use it. It's difficult to put a spin on videos to make them different and I'm always keen to (as my husband calls it) "compare and contrast" pens and markers, especially if I have all the previous iterations!
      To be fair, they're not bad pens at all, they're OK water-based markers... but I think "Paper Friendly" is a bold claim! Yes, they don't tear up the paper quite as much but they seem to bleedthrough a little bit worse. Have fun playing with yours! 🥰

      I saw your first comment, the set with the Flamingo are probably the worst for CocoWyo type books. Because the Brush tip is smaller and firmer, it scratches the paper more. Softer brush tips are better.

    I think it was very generous of you to spend your time trying to answer all these questions for people. Maybe they can be used in lots of ways but you are very clear about what you would use them for and that that is what you are testing. I agree it is nice that Ohuhu are trying to make better pens but these do not seem like much of an improvement. I also still think it's a terrible name, even if they were trying to invoke beaches why name a water-based product for something famous for sand?

    • @ArtJourneyUK
      @ArtJourneyUK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @colorcrazy2944 Thank you and I agree they are not much (if any!) of an improvement, I struggle to see where they are better in both layering on good paper and on standard paper! And yes the name is *very* unfortunate, I gave up trying to pronounce it any other way than its spelt 🤣

    I guess I wasn't clear when I mentioned using the plastic pallette 🤣 I use it to blend (mix) different colours, something you won't be able to achieve on the colouring book paper itself. I also use the pallette for watercolour pencils. Yes, you can use them straight on the paper, but for me personally, mixing results are better using the pallette.
    Waiting between layers is like using oil paints: reserved for people with a lot of patience 😉
    And lastly: to be honest with you, who on earth applies layer upon layer when using markers?

    • @ArtJourneyUK
      @ArtJourneyUK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @leonnehaaijman4709 But with so many pen colours, I don't need to mix colours. I have all the convenience colours I'll ever need.
      There seems to be confusion about what I'm trying to do with waterbased markers, I just want to colour with them, like a child with felt tips! 😂
      And yes, exactly who wants 10 layers? We just want one even layer!

    I've never heard of ohuhu's pupe paper friendly markers before this video, but one of the comments you responded to in the video irked me. I LOVE using water-based markers! I use them on sketchbook paper all the time without using water or a brush or watercolor paper. I find them to be a lot of fun to work around or even use the streaky-ness, and I don't really focus on blending them smoothly. I just don't get it when people act like you need watercolor paper to use water-based waters. Sure you can if you want it to not have streakiness but that's not the only "right way" to use them.

    The original "Poop" video was actually the first video I had ever seen of yours (I think) and I was tickled about some of the things you said during it. It really is a rather strange name for the markers...and an even stranger font!? I know it is a very specific use of water based markers- but I use them in a direct to stamp technique that is used on Art Impressions red rubber stamps. Instead of tapping the stamp on an ink pad to ink it up, you "color" the areas on the stamp directly with the marker and then stamp it on water color paper. A slightly damp brush dipped in water allows you to then blend the images. I'm explaining how I ended up on your channel even though I don't use the markers to color in books...and also why some of us would look for water based markers with various tips including fine tips. Many of the details on the stamps require precision to ink them up so you end up with for example green stems and pink flowers ...as the flowers might only be the size of a grain of rice. That video and this one were very enjoyable and well done and I really appreciate your attention to detail and your pronunciation of POOP. LOL

    I appreciate your efforts, I really do but for me the problem is your layers. One layer is one pass of the marker, to me anyway. When you scribble back and forth, overlapping strokes and call it a layer, you are destined to get inaccurate results. One layer = one pass of the marker. Wet, dry, whatever, one layer should be one layer. The bottom line is...well... we're all just a bunch of pain in the neck, second guessing, 20/20 hindsight having idiots. Lol.
