Decided to look up her website to see if she was still in Buisness, 90% of her reviews were people calling her a Scammer. Orders not received and wasn’t paying her designers so Buisness is Closed now. Sad to hear, I thought she was going to be a success story. 😪

Their reasons for going out felt fishy…even if the sharks don’t like the valuation they usually counter with what they think it’s worth instead of going out if they really like the company. Odd

She breaks even monthly and valued the company at 4.6m.... what is fishy about this? It's just a business that doesn't profit. So many insane valuations that make 0 profit. The number 1 principle of a business is to be profitable & so many businesses get this wrong.
At a way smaller valuation they would have jumped at offers. Damon's comments though I agree - seem really weird no idea what he's chatting there.

She closed down the business when this ep aired. Plus, she was breaking even/not making much profit while valuing the business pretty high, so it’s reasonable why the Sharks backed out.
If the Sharks thought they could make money off of this business, there would have been offers. They were looking for excuses to be “out” knowing that it’s a niche business with little potential for max profit. The guest Shark made the offer for 50% knowing it would never be accepted. Kevin knew his offer wouldn’t be accepted either.

Kevin's offer was fair for a Shark pushing the company to high levels of profit. I guess she didn't really needed the money then and Kevin saw though it hence the loan offer.
They all were impressed with what she accomplished but they all gave BS excuses of why they were not going to move forward with her. The ones who did make a offer knew damn well she wasn't going to take it because they really didn't want to do business with her.

The Sharks’s reasons for bowing out were very questionable. Since when does valuation stop them from at least making an offer they think is more reasonable? Daymond’s reason makes no sense. In that case, every single business a Shark invests has liability because of “deep pockets.” Anyway, I’m glad she kept her equity. Only Lori’s reason makes sense.

she said she has hundreds of designers. giving maybe 3-5 designs each... now all of those designs needs to get vetted of copy/plagiarism to other designers... now, if one of those designs would even a tiny bit similar to another design, that said designer would target damon thinking he's rich and will just pay for the design. or sue...
now if you're a small business, selling 5-10 of those. even a clear 1:1 copy, the main designer usually would just ignore you.

it’s not difficult to get a loan in the US, it’s actually very easy except inflation is crazy right now and interest rates are through the roof. it is definitely a high interest rate, but it seems he made it that high due to the risk. he’s also a shark investor, which makes him much more valuable than any other investor. a shark brings more value than just money, expertise, guidance, and a platform.
I've seen other pitches where the evaluation was 4, 5 or 6x multiples.. So I'm not sure why here 460k for 10% was so much

Art, home decor, furniture, collectibles. I kinda feel like they just couldn't see the vision. Which is often a hurdle for entrepreneurs. You see it clearly and we see the full picture but can we translate this vision into a message that is short sweet understandable without cutting important components out....

I would wear 2 of the 4 outfits. I love what she's doing & her mission. But clothing is tricky. Many great designers have struggled & gone bankrupt. Do theres risk, & no guarantee on margins. If she really wanted a partner, her ask was too high. She doesn't know what pitfall lie head, or what she doesn't know. I think her biggest concern is returns, fit. And holding for 3 months & returning is a problem. I buy online, HSN, QVC, & sizing is always a problem, even among the Name designers. How do these fabrics wear?

My understanding (which is probably way out to lunch since we only get a tiny snippet of the full pitch) is that he said because of the number of designers involved with the product line, he would have to vet every single designer to avoid some random person off the streets of California trying to sue him (textile copyright) because they know he has big pockets / money.

She clearly stated sales vs. revenue, so it’s not misleading unless you’re deaf
Too many of these entrepreneurs base their company’s value on total sales. That only works when you’re profitable in the right range! If you make zero profit because you break even every month your company is basically worth zero to an investor. Even if a shark were to bring her profit from $0/month to 1 million/year that’s only $100K if they owned 10%. It would take 4.6 years to get back their original investment and over 9 years to double it. If you own a nonprofit don’t go looking for an investor!
