"THEY'RE BRINGING THE WAR TO AMERICA. IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN." Yeah, the only MW3 missions that actually take place in America are the first two missions of the game.
OreManiac213 No there were four missions in the US. There was the one with Burger Town, the one with Honey Badger, the one where they evacuate in the helicopter, and then when they storm the White House and light flares on the roof.
Skyline Cod 4 was mostly in Russia and Middle East, MW2 was Mostly Russia and US, MW3 was USA, Africa, England, France, Germany, and oddly Czech Republic
Craig Mackay I agree, but the mistake was that they listened to us and this futuristic crap is our fault, you see when Ghosts was release everyone was pissed and kept saying the "same cod every year" so thanks to that we got AW , BO3 , and the infamous IW . But at the end it seems that cod 2017 is going to be a normal cod, with supply drops
+Antonius Torres I do not know a lot about ballistics, yet surviving a shot from a .44 magnum revolver trough the chest - effectively punching a hole through a the lungs - seems rather unlikely. But what do I know about blunt force trauma, ballistics or vital organs.
Yeah indeed the first time I played the game which was after that nasty civil war began I had no doubt that they actually based the game on the war I was surprised to know that the game was actually released in 2007 !!
Laws of every fandom 1. Do not search up anything til you know all the spoilers 2. Make sure you use the bathroom and eat 3. DO NOT FALL IN LOVE OR SHIP ANY CHARACTERS THEY WILL DIE
Other developers started to use that idea so they decided to start something fresh. To me the campaign is amazing. Sure is short, but it's still a great single player!
The story get's drunk towards the ending of mw2. The story in cod 4 was really good, and they maintained some realism (that's why I love the old cod games). MW2 is also good, I guessed activision wanted to up the action in that one. But the story have some weird twist and turns, I still don't really understand general shepards motives. And in mw3 the russians attack usa (rembember that we kicked out the russians out of usa in mw2). And I have not a single clue why russia is attacking Europe..
Leonard Lao yeah, nuking the satellite took out all power, a few astronaughts and whoever happened to be near a helicopter died and everybody lost their red dot sights, but more importantly, all of the russian soldiers were left fighting in foreign territory, with no gunships to back them up.
Leonard Lao yeah but he’s pretty smart for doing so, it endured the US a win. They were actually overrun by Russian choppers and soldiers so the EMP kinda saved them even though it did take some allied lives.
I still wonder to this day, if Pvt. Allens body was why Russia believed it was the USA who did the attack on No Russian, then how come they never investigated the other two Russian guys that died earlier in the mission? I can't remember their names but I know like 2 of Makarovs men died along with Joseph Allen. Just curious.
@PS2Reviewer i dont know man, nuclear warheads dont knock out electrical devices, the US uses EMPs as last ditch counter measures for nukes. The reason why the nuke exploded is because when the trigering mech inside the nuke is deactivated it with either; 1. fall helplessly to earth 2. blow up.
The nuke in MW2 was used as an EMP, and the soldiers in the crashed helicopter clearly yell: EMP! Get DOWN! (not so sure about that last part.) and the pieces of stuff you see falling are helicopters and it looks pretty cheesy if you look straight up!!
Plot: Hey these guys killed us let's kill'em back.. Your mission: Kill this guy at this place, but wait he's not there now he turns out to be somewhere else, go get 'em so we can kill'em back
I played the campaign of both these games twice, and I enjoyed them very much. And if you asked me the next day what the games were about, I wouldn't be able to tell you.
fair point, but i haven't actually said that only the british(not english there is a difference, for instance there are the irish, scottish and welsh as well as England, even though it is the biggest.), can be stealthy, but that the US seems to use more brute force that tactical stealth most of the time,as they tend not to need to.
somthing that bugged me was the wholl lt vasguz thing and saving the piolet, "leave no man behind" regardless of what will happen a merine will never leave a team to die for nothing, take the 2 navel seals from black hawk down, when the 2nd black hawk got shot down 2 navey seals went to it to save one piolet, but got themselfs killed and him captured. if it wernt for the two seals to pull him out, and drag him aside he would have been killed.
It's soo weird how this is like the original Battlefield 2.... US makes MEC mad... MEC invade US and tries to attack DC... Random British guys come to help in the Xpack Euroforces and things heat up with armored furey and it all ends in a Russian chemical factory in special operations....
The SAS are British and most of the MW series is Soap's or Captain Price point of view and their in the SAS there are a few American focused missions like the Nuclear bomb from cod4
Prob'ly because the TF141 would one day realize that Shepherd and Makarov are secretly working together, but Shepherd betrayed Makarov and TF141 to hog all the power and fame to himself, which, for me, is a freakin' crazy but effective risk to take for the General.
Just came to give my unsolicited opinion. MW1 was a masterpiece campaign from beginning to end. MW2's first 2 acts are the some of the best moments in game history, imho. Just hit after hit of moments that really felt special. The 3rd act for me fell short and was pretty bland and chaotic. MW3 I really didn't care for. It wasn't bad, just short and unremarkable. It didn't do anything new like MW2 did and didn't leave me feeling anything really notable the way those first two acts did in 2 and the whole game did in 1. Just my opinion.
This video was recommended to me 1 month after I watched the Modern Warfare 2019 Reveal. I watched this thinking it was a recap for the cod mw 2019 not cod mw3 xD
@IGNentertainment Vasquez didn't retrieve the pilot, Sgt. Paul Jackson did. (The guy you play as) And the americans didn't raid the village for Al asad, the British SAS did. Prive didn't team up with new pal Kamarov, Kamarov was an old pal. ANd Makarov was Zakheav's second in command. And TF141 didn't fin Makarov's List of Friends, the Rangers did, in the USA. Shepherd didn't jack the helicopter, it was his. And it wasn't a rescue chopper, it was Nikoli, who you forgot to mention.
I did enjoy those moments , like the beginning of Goalpost; the fall of the Tour Eiffel, etc. The only problem is most of the time those were clouded by bad gameplay and having to repeat the same things during the actual game.
thanks for this i had no idea what was going on in this story line because i got in to call of duty when black ops came out and i wanted to know the story of mw1 and mw2 before i got in to number 3
60$ for the maps seperatly. 50$ with elite premium. Do the math, i know its complicated for you. New maps are a change of pace when they are close quarters, or more open. You need to choose your route safely. Most games make weapons an unlock anyways, not just cod. Plus, when weapons are an unlock it makes you want to keep playing to reach what you want. Not just scatter the weapons around the map so that a person gets rewarded with an energy sword, rocket launcher, or shotgun for camping for it
President Yasir Al-Fulani, Lieutenant Vasquez , Sergeant Paul Jackson, The Pilot, Khaled Al-Asad, Victor Zakhaev, Staff Sergeant Griggs, Gaz, Imran Zakhaev, Pvt Joseph Allen, Ghost, Roach, Gen. Shepard, Andre Harkov, Warabee, Cpt Soap Mactavish, Sandman, Truck, Frost, Yuri, Makarov........these modern warfare characters all share something in common. guess what it is
@furryshadow truer words have never been spoken, how anyone can possibly find this franchise entertaining is beyond me especially when you break it down into categories (story - a boring history class) (gameplay - shoot, run, switch gun, shoot some more, auto heal???, and then shoot some more) (Presentation - another war game on different setting each timebut same concept) (graphics - ....Well I can't knock it for this) (Replayability - ummm multiplayer i guess if u into dat and have Live)
I love CoD's storyline... And this is coming from a huge fan of Mass Effect, Halo, and Assassin's Creed. Not comparing them btw, just saying that I can appreciate different types of stories.
CoD 4 MW was last part where Some of russians were good. pity that you did not mention that. and why di you said one forty one? one four one, mate, cooler.
@Masterlink981 No no no no....people only hated the Treyarch games (COD3and World at War) at first, but when Modern Warfare 2 came out and people noticed all the problems it had (glitches, boosters, cheater/hacks, OMA Danger Close noobtubing, lack of support and dedicated servers, overpriced DLC etc.), THAT'S when the hate really started to pile up towards the franchise as a whole. People now hate Infinity Ward, Treyarch AND Activision, and Call of Duty.
"THEY'RE BRINGING THE WAR TO AMERICA. IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN."
Yeah, the only MW3 missions that actually take place in America are the first two missions of the game.
Do people forget though that there were a few campaign missions in the America?
Yeah....they brought the war in America in MW2. Only two campaign missions took place in the US in MW3, because it focused more on World War 3.
OreManiac213 No there were four missions in the US. There was the one with Burger Town, the one with Honey Badger, the one where they evacuate in the helicopter, and then when they storm the White House and light flares on the roof.
0IIIIII Those missions were in MW2 not MW3.
OreManiac213
Oh sorry I thought you were talking about MW2
1:25 "more americans", since when was captain price and soap american?
or GAZ
They are about as American as tea and crumpets
+Craig Mackay I get it! cause boats!
Uncharted Fan don't think he's ever played the game
Yeah aren't they british
1:25 ... They're SAS. They're British dude, not Americans
Not British They are Russian
They are British, due to them being apart of the 22nd SAS regiment. Which if you didn't know was a British based military corporation.
true
War Begins hey idk that who told u that
It was a joint operation between SAS and USMC dude
I never said story time?
Captain Price course you didnt leftlant
Oi Cpt Price you shoudve been more careful while killing Zakhave
Hard to run an operation with caution when the world's about to go boom.
were are you after WWlll
Neither did I
MW2 had like 6 missions in the game in America, a lot more then MW3.
*Than
Who cares if you're in America or not?
Skyline Cod 4 was mostly in Russia and Middle East, MW2 was Mostly Russia and US, MW3 was USA, Africa, England, France, Germany, and oddly Czech Republic
+Timothy Williams Actualy in England too in training in COD4
Eduard Manding wrong it was in wales
The good old days..
Oh devs what have you got yourself into.
Craig Mackay I
How cool would it be if General Shepherd returned in MW4 as a main villain with an eye patch and was still alive.
Tacticalsquid well lets throw another knife on his other eye
COD Ghosts does that by resurrecting Rorke after got shot at his chest and yet so many people cry about that game being fake.
Tacticalsquid it wouldn't
Tacticalsquid problem with Sheperd is that he and Makarov forgot to use the cheat God Mode to turn on, this is why Rorke is still alive
+Antonius Torres
I do not know a lot about ballistics, yet surviving a shot from a .44 magnum revolver trough the chest - effectively punching a hole through a the lungs - seems rather unlikely. But what do I know about blunt force trauma, ballistics or vital organs.
This is strangely accurate to modern events....even the the Syrian Leaders name is Al- Assad!

TheGrimReaper54321 I will not deny there are parallels
Yeah indeed the first time I played the game which was after that nasty civil war began I had no doubt that they actually based the game on the war I was surprised to know that the game was actually released in 2007 !!
It is called Modern warfare
TheGrimReaper54321 you ever heard of the phrase
Life imitates art
The best story line in all the series.
+Umer Hamid nah, i like black op's story better.
dfgaming Only Black Ops 1
+dfgaming Block ops is over ratedm
+Umer Hamid World at War had a good story too.
+Umer Hamid MW3 storyline was made down the road ,had no actual coherence ,,just a few flashbacks to justify their BS
The days where cod was still fresh
What about mw3

oh you precious baby child...
0IIIIII is shipping Price and Soap...
Amberitzy
Their bond is stronger than blood.
You know you have a good story when it can be explained in 5 minutes
COD Modern Warfare 1 Remastered is COMING!
Oh wait, only on Legacy Edition.
#RIPCOD
Oh man that was great, I was waiting for so long for another "in 5 minutes" video!
Other developers started to use that idea so they decided to start something fresh. To me the campaign is amazing. Sure is short, but it's still a great single player!
this comment section is so old and nostagic, makes me sad :( if only we were back when this vid released id be grinding cod again
Yeahhh I stopped watching is shit as soon as you said the British SAS was American and killed Al-Asad
Froogle can u calm ur self he made a Mistake, it’s not that big of a deal
because that was develop by sledgehammer, not infinity ward..
The story get's drunk towards the ending of mw2. The story in cod 4 was really good, and they maintained some realism (that's why I love the old cod games). eightypuff01 Probably because of alliances.
Tank chunk and steak head to New Jersey to pound a keg😂
Wait did Captin price really send out the EMP to washington?
Storm Trooper Oh Shit
Ex ddssd3
Leonard Lao yeah, nuking the satellite took out all power, a few astronaughts and whoever happened to be near a helicopter died and everybody lost their red dot sights, but more importantly, all of the russian soldiers were left fighting in foreign territory, with no gunships to back them up.
Tyler Bushnell huh....
Leonard Lao yeah but he’s pretty smart for doing so, it endured the US a win. They were actually overrun by Russian choppers and soldiers so the EMP kinda saved them even though it did take some allied lives.
Oh god I didn't laugh this hard since I saw AC in 5 minutes
2:16 - 2:24 I LOL'd
Props to the people who made this video. This was amazing.
Looks like you’ve got to extend this video later this year...
Best Games History EVER
I miss roach... Why didn't he get to go out with a bang...
lol
Well... MW2 happens 5 years after COD4, yet Price has been in jail for 15 years? Seems legit Infinty Ward
That is legitness
Uhh where did it say 15 years? He was in the gulag for 3 years. Also, learn the difference between jails and prisons.
Jake Wilson he was in jail for 3 years
I still wonder to this day, if Pvt. The fanclub bit made me laugh
The best part was when soap died, so many crying ppl
Wait... Call Of Duty has a story???? When did that happen?
When the first Call of Duty was made...
Okay. Here's a COC fan.. -_-
Hater
Not a COD fans but the story is one of the best story from fps
flippin love the commentary:D! "Way To Go Vasquez" XD
The nuke in MW2 was used as an EMP, and the soldiers in the crashed helicopter clearly yell: EMP! Get DOWN! (not so sure about that last part.) and the pieces of stuff you see falling are helicopters and it looks pretty cheesy if you look straight up!!

Jeebers mcfeeber pretty much
The story isn't that simple though...
MW 1 2 3 and Remastered are the best cod games
i agrea
*me watching this in 2019*
Uhh there is a new modern warfare
The jokes were actually.... pretty funny! way to go IGN
The Modern Warfare trilogy and Battlefield 3 have badass stories!
NOT THE DOLPHINS
Not only Dolphins but also Doges
1:30 not Americans, British SAS
terrible recap. half the stuff he said isn't true
antonio vazquez What..? Have you never played the damn game
that was sarcasm
I played the campaign of both these games twice, and I enjoyed them very much. And if you asked me the next day what the games were about, I wouldn't be able to tell you.
pretty good recap i almost cry remembering all of this
Shepard is like bush zakheav is like putin
BraveShot Ent. bot troll
MW and MW2 were the best cod's of all time but MW3 fucked it all up
no call of duty ghost and advanced warfare fucked up the series
+Obdulio Chaparro no Ghosts was good way better than Black Ops 2 Advanced Warfare was the one that truly fucked it up the exo suits ruined everything
Ghost had too much lag
***** butthurt much?
Ghost was boring and repetitive. It did multiple clichés and littearly had barely anything new then what you could whip up in a day.
Stop being an American patriot like seriously no one cares
This was freaking better than the commercials.. Good watch, still unsure of if I am going to get this or not.

The part where the EMP goes off in Washington is so awesome. Always feel awesome playing that part
What they didn't realize was that Shepherd literally pretty much TOLD makarov that Allen was an undercover.
"WAY TO GO VASQUEZ. You're dead, bro."
LMAO. I could not stop laughing at this.
somthing that bugged me was the wholl lt vasguz thing and saving the piolet, "leave no man behind" regardless of what will happen a merine will never leave a team to die for nothing, take the 2 navel seals from black hawk down, when the 2nd black hawk got shot down 2 navey seals went to it to save one piolet, but got themselfs killed and him captured. if it wernt for the two seals to pull him out, and drag him aside he would have been killed.

Hello everyone, daddy's home
Nice video IGN!
To IGN: your so funny the video was so funny I cried ps keep making videos😂

Modern warfare in 3 seconds:
Remember, switching to pistol is always faster than reloading.
Excellent Recap!!!!

4:49 I've NEVER seen a better outro for anything! Even for movies liek Expendables! lol.
this dude is awesum he has to do more of these videos
I'm kinda a battlefield 3 fanboy but I LOVE Modern Warfare campaigns. At first I was against it but I'm DEFINITELY getting MW3.
Dude, you can't choose your own guns. Your assigned with the guns at the start of the mission, and when enemies drop them, then you get a new gun.
best video from ign!

I had too watch this twice to understand. I'm going to watch it again now.
Space Station Parts you say? There was that game where if you play as the russians you could call down a space station on your enemies
One, Two, Three will always have a place in my heart
I love CoD's storyline... And this is coming from a huge fan of Mass Effect, Halo, and Assassin's Creed. Not comparing them btw, just saying that I can appreciate different types of stories.
:D, that point has been reached, well done my friend!
What's weird is that an MW3 ad showed up before the vid.
@JLMBfreafin Modern Warfare 2 didn't have infinite respawning enemies. They fixed that. But Modern Warfare 1, World at War, and Black Ops did.
I can recap Modern Warfare in 1 sentence.
A fuck ton of gunfights and infinite respawning enemies
Best series ever
i liked both modern warfare plots... and am excited to see how they rap up the series in mw3
@Th3Gamemaster2010 because in Cod you are a ONE MAN ARMY
and in Battlefield you have to do something called TEAM WORK
they have it all wrong. Shepherd went crazy and tried to start a war so he could get everyones attention and tell them about the reapers.
you got 1 thing wrong and it was that ghost is still alive
Just so you know those aren't space station parts falling out of the sky, they're helicopters...
CoD 4 MW was last part where Some of russians were good. pity that you did not mention that. and why di you said one forty one? one four one, mate, cooler.
ArmyHumveeLaat MW3? The loyalists,yuri?
The only thing I leared from CoD is: "switching to your pistol is faster than reloading"
That is possibly the best ending of anything I have ever heard...
......? one moment, a picture of the sunset at the beach, the next moment, blood all over the screen
