- The best freediving tips and techniques are usually very simple. What are some freediving tips? what are the best freediving techniques? There are questions that I get asked all the time and so i figured it would be easiest to make a video about it. So here are my top 5 freediving tips and techniques.
by applying these techniques you will be able to hold your breath longer. You will be able to relax more while freediving so you can enjoy your dives more. These techniques will also allow you to improve and become a better freediver.
The video touches on the significance of relaxation in freediving. How move and swim more efficiently. The best ways to approach your freediving in the short and long term and as always we talk about equalisation.
I hope you enjoy the video and if you have any questions just put them down below in the comments!

Sammy the snake ate slippery sausages for supper on sunday!
Hahaha
who makes fun of a guy with a speech impediment? sad.
@@hocusfokusdotcom did you not watch the video? He told people to write that! 👌🏻
@@Adhdad1 i missed it. my apologies and totally my mistake.
I read this b4 the vid and was confused
1. Relaxation really does matter
2. Use less energy
3. Equalise often
4. Progress slowly
5. Swim streamlined
Bonus: Don't make fun of Adam's lisp!
Ok ty
The 4th tip is a must!

I’m going Freediving August 1 off Rhode Island and am so excited!! Thank you for helping with technique!
Going for my first dive today, so excited! One of my workmates is showing me a local spot. I'll definitely be heading across to your equalising video!
Great advice! Thank you!
Love your videos, straight into the topic.
Awesome tips very helpful.
Thanks
100% right. One thing I would modify, equalizing is most critical as you leave the surface.
I literally can't even swim yet, but for some reason really want to free dive!
The channel I've always needed
I’m from the mountains. We have some lakes but most people are too boring to enjoy them. Thanks for the information to help me have more fun in new environments

newbie here... this helps me a lot thank you so much!
very helpful...thanks for the great videos!!!
Love the videos, the techniques are very effective.
You are brilliant!
This helped me out a LOT, I can’t wait to try these tips. I recently went to St. Croix to visit my sister and we went freediving, and I’ve also been to a few local springs, but I’ve never been able to go further than like 20 feet. I didn’t know it was possible to become negatively buoyant, so I’m glad to hear it’s something I can work on (I’m very new to it so I don’t know much of anything). I can hold my breath for a minute and a half above water, but underwater it’s literally like 10-15 seconds. Glad to know it’s mostly because of simple mistakes I’m making that I can work on! Thanks!
Great vid

You're so so welcome :)
thank you i learn i lot 😊😊😊
You're so welcome :)
The relaxing before the dive is so key. I used to get so anxious practicing my deep dives at the pool because I would just close my eyes and relax my body for several minutes in order to have a long breath-hold and thought ppl didn't understand. #1=Relax!!! and take it slow, enjoy :)
Thanks good tips..
very welcome :)
i just found your channel and i love your videos
i just watched five of them and it wasnt boring😍 cant wait to see ur daughter swimming wz u both❤ greeting from lebanom
Thanks Adam, I used to freak out when I go in & get confused & get that "urge" of breathing ,after I watched one of ur vids & started to relax it helped very much till a small fish started swimming with me everywhere in the island of Zanzibar.
Thank you Adam!! That streamlined position tip is the most down to earth I had so far. It makes so much sense cause while diving recreationaly there is a good chance you will not have a rope around to use as reference. Keep it up!
Edrisse Mussá absolutely. Except when I'm diving deep I never dive with a rope. I don't know why freedivers get so hung up on trying to make everyone tuck their chins in all the way down. The reason I'm diving is to look around! 😜
Adam Freediver maybe because the risk of a trachea squeeze? I have a friend that had big problems with it and just couldn't dive deeper than 30meters because of it.
Edrisse Mussá absolutely but in the context of recreational diving it makes little sense. When training and progressing depth the chin needs to be tucked in the entire time but when playing around it's usually just a limitation
Sammy the slimy snake swallowed seven slippery sausages for supper on Sunday.
I'm enjoying watching your videos. Haven't really noticed the lisp until you pointed it out... darn it, now I guess I'm not going to be able to watch any more without thinking about it. You and your wife both seem like you have a true love for life, and you are both very enjoyable to watch. Your enthusiasm is infectious.
I've been exploring free diving for a few years now, but your videos have really gotten me excited. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I haven't been able to find instructors here in the Houston, Texas area, but just found someone from Oklahoma who teaches in San Marcos (near San Antonio.) Not much interest in competition, but I do want to learn how to improve my bottom time. Here's crossing my fingers.
Cool vids! Great content! Ledge!
Thanks so much buddy :)
