hey. sorry to tell you that the airbox is not effecting your idle speed the idle speed valve takes the air from the airbox and baypass the throttle valve so the airbox is not a part of the engine system. its only a air reservoir for better throttle responce.
Nicky Jans The silvertop has a MAF which is located before the airbox, if there is a leak then the engine is getting more air than expected. This will affect how the engine runs.
