great sound, no so great video.
This is how the TV broadcast in-car's should work. Record 360, then rotate and choose an angle AFTER an incident, because the live operator 95% of the time butchers the shot in a wreck.
Also, how come no dash / gauges in the truck?
Race cars, especially ones built from the ground up like this, don't have dashes. You will see a couple of gauges, in this case offset to the side, most likely oil pressure and and oil temp and a light that looks like a low water pressure warning (it is coming on when he gets slowed down for a bit). Usually there would be a large tachometer front and center but he is probably so tuned to the sound of the engine in this vehicle that he doesn't need one.
I'm sure he can shift by sound and feel, most racers do, but kinda weird to run without a tach. I guess its just a test session, so no biggie. (Don't have to worry about pit speed and whatnot)
Originally first seeing Mike on *that* Goodwood run, I was so glad for him getting the Grand Tour job. Sure he isn't always entertaining, but purely as a driver? His credentials shouldn't be overlooked.
