Same. Channel was recommended and watched the lot in a day. The channel will undoubtably get pretty big. Loads of ppl love land rovers and his projects and level of detail are awesome.
Love the videos but please ask your assistant if he knows how the hospital get metal out of your eyes? If a magnet won't work it's picked out using a needle while a nurse leans on the back of your head as your chin is in a Y rest. Goggles stops all this pain and misery. Believe me. 👍
New here and enjoy the vids and jobs 👍🏻 But please wear safety glasses, air lines and grinding etc with that rusty metal is an accident waiting to happen. I know being young is like being invincible, but you only get your eyes once 👀🙏🏻 Also paper masks would be an idea, look at your skin, that’s going into you lungs D’oh !!! #StaySafe 💙
Defenders always catch the water spray from the back wheels and rot out. I always put an inner M udflap on inside of X member to help. Great channel by the way
That came out great. Hard to believe the rust was so bad on the cross member and the chassis rails were solid, you were definitely lucky there. I just gave up on my 30 year old jeep because the chassis was so rotten.
Your are a very natural presenter and clearly have a knack at this , your channel is one to watch I’m expecting a massive following of your stuff ,great work dude 👌🍺
Once again a great video of something I need to sort in the near future. I think I would have replaced the diesel pump while I had the tank out as it’s a pain to drop it again to do it. 👍
Cerakote makes a ceramic based back trim restorer that would work well on the flaps and spare wheel carrier. It’s good for 200 washes as well. I’ve had it on my Land Cruiser for 6 months and counting with no fade yet.
really enjoying the vids. nice to be able to go through the whole series, bit like watching a box set! 😁 Really impressed with your knowledge and abilities. looking forward to watching the rest of the series.
If your pals a pro welder he should know better than to fill that massive gap with weld, especially on something that is meant for towing and taking heavy loads. He should have cut it back to good metal and plated it properly, and turned the welder up a bit too.
Hi Mr Juice, Another awesome episode, so glad I found your channel and subscribed, it’s so educational for me to watch someone who knows what they are doing and to understand how my Defender is actually put together. Great content, keep it coming buddy! Kind regards Tony
I'd have been tempted to put some sealant between your new chassis member and those 'rust away' rear mudguards. Great videos thank you very much for posting
This is Josh- he might better at welding, but he doesn’t like reversing on camera 😂😉. Takes it for a spin round the yard - I thought he’d nicked it! Great job - looking forward to the next part of the transformation 👍
Great job mate, looks better than factory. We are about to do the long leg rear replacement on the 110 (same part as the galv one you received) as soon as FedEx hurry up and deliver it. We love a TD5 👍🏻
Great videos ,just built my own pit have 2 defenders and do all the work on them.could do a bit help with mapping my turbo GTB2260VK not your usual hybrid.
That was a pity about the galvanised section. I’d love a 90 pretty much like it is including those wheels, still think those are the best looking landy wheels.
Another great workshop video, good effort and well done for knowing your welding limitations and getting your mate whose a pro fabricator to do the welding. Just one tip get yourself some sun cream your looking a bit pink 😉
If you are thinking of doing this, really test it all out with a hammer first. It can go either way. It might be bad further forward, or the exact opposite :o) This one is really good, I would have grabbed some 3mm steel sheet and only replaced the middle section. Outriggers are fine, the top is fine. Pop some tubes in for the hitch and weld on some tow hooks. Also, personal recommendation is Old Man Emu shocks. They have decent sized rods. They are so good I just sold mine for half price second hand. Decent :D
Super video! But I'll join the choir: safety glasses please :) Interesting green disco 2 you had in the background. Would love to see what'll happen with that. Got my hots for a 2003 disco 2 currently on sale in my neighborhood. But the engine head on is cracked - wonder if you have any idea on how bad that is to change? Your head swap on this defender seemed to be somewhat extensive for a hobbyist... Though you seemed to manage it easily... Twice ;)
yet another cracking video buddy loving the hairstyle pal 😂😂😂what a difference taking off the old crossmember and putting on the new one keep up the good work and looking forward to the next one bud 👍👍💪🏼💪🏼
Great video, great job. And oh, about the spider, I would have killed it, I really, really, appreciated you did not. I guess is important to notice and praise when someone is acting better than we would. 🙂👍🏻
Can anyone help..How easy is it to convert the rear seats to forward facing along with removing the bulkhead to allow move movement in the front seats ?
Can you please answer a stupid (?) question? Why do certain parts of the chassis rust more than others? I realise that 5he rear crossmember gets all the muck as the vehicle travels forwards, but is there a specific reason why some areas go before others?
When you have finished I don’t suppose you could do a cost video. For someone like me who has a defender and would like to do some work on it. It would be interesting to no how much a re build like this costs
Hi Juiceman ..I did the rear crossmember on my 300dti last year ....waxoiled etc the weld and the internals . A year on very small amounts of surface rust on the bare rear face in a couple of areas . I would appreciate any recommendations as to the best product to paint the face of it to keep it looking nice . Obviously needs to be durable and not act as a future water trap. Even considering just putting coat of waxoil on it ??
Remove the rust with Bilt Hamber rust remover, paint it with their primer and top coat of your choice. Bilt Hamber ain't cheap but they're the best products I've found.
Change out all your transmission fluids mate! R380 takes MT94 nothing else. Diffs EP90 or better if you can afford. Not sure about LT230 transfer box ...quote Ashcroft " What oil should I use in my LT230 ? Use a GL4 or GL5, either mineral EP80/90 or synthetic EP75W90" above applies for final drives too btw. GL5 is good stuff. Do a video showing how filthy the gear oil gets!
@@juicemotors just a bit of constructive criticism, brush up on editing the videos and your away. You have the right look and content, just editing side needs tightening up dude. Or grab a edited, they don't cost a fortune and it will get shared alot more. Good luck bro.
It’s from the Rear Main Oil Seal, the gearbox will need to come out so we can replace the clutch assembly and address this leak, it’s not from the engine rebuild. The end game is going to be pretty sick! Can’t wait to show you guys, bringing it back from the dead and then modifying it!
Hi, I was just wondering because I see loads of videos of people fitting all kinds of safety features that seem ridiculous,, is there actually a need to take all those precautions just so it doesn’t get stolen? Thanks in advance :)
Bit late with the question, I'm re-watching your videos because I enjoy them so much, I thought all defender 90's had the fuel tank under the driver seat? Is this a long range add on maybe or have I confused myself?
Good content glad your channel popped up on my recommened. I always though 90 and 110 chassis were the same front and rear and the difference was in the length in the middle/out riggers etc. Whats the difference in the rear crossmember?
I've just watched all you videos in a couple days - you deserve a much bigger viewership. Keep it up!

you have the best job ever, i love defenders
I’m the same, but we could both change our jobs and do it. Just need a few bob behind you👍
Rebuilding Defenders to last another lifetime. Doing God's work! Inspiring to watch. Keep up the amazing work!

Been there and had done with the needle in the eye
In Denmark they use a drill, I have tried it a few times.

How the hell has this channel only got 50k subs, just found it and have binge watched hours of videos, some of the best content out there!
This series makes me so happy. Nice work!
Live little defender. LIVE!!
Defenders always catch the water spray from the back wheels and rot out. I always put an inner M udflap on inside of X member to help. Great channel by the way
Thank goodness we have two eyes as the likely hood of the reciprocating saw snatch or debris flying is odds on only taking one eye out at a time.
I love the progress on this Defender. I'm totally engrossed in these video's!
This is the best Defender channel on you tube, nice work
That came out great. Hard to believe the rust was so bad on the cross member and the chassis rails were solid, you were definitely lucky there. I just gave up on my 30 year old jeep because the chassis was so rotten.

Rusty metal in the eye would be the end of this productive day guys. Doing 1/4 on mine next week, so interesting video. Cheers!
nice job! and nice to see a landy without chequer plate coverups too.
Once again a great video of something I need to sort in the near future. I think I would have replaced the diesel pump while I had the tank out as it’s a pain to drop it again to do it. 👍
Great video Nothing sounds better than a TD5... had a disco and still miss that sound
Good job! That spider was one of the false widows that are everywhere now. Nasty little bits form them.

love watching this from Australia miss my defenders big time best on Utube and thats not a bloody spider lol
I’m from Australia to and was going to comment the same that is not a spider 🕷 that’s just a little black blob.
Anyways love the videos
Glad I checked, didn’t think I’d be the only Australian going to comment on the spider! Haha
I’m Australian too that’s 4 now haha!!

cant wait for part 5 , I have a 1974 109 5 door safari roof
Good base for whatever you are going to do next looking forword to the build
cracking job, looked like the old owner backed it into the sea every night
Just started watching these, love the detail and results…keep doing them please 🙂👍🏻
Really enjoying the videos showing steps forward with this build! Looking forward to the next video, and of course progress there after! Nice work! :)

Well...

Nice job just done mine, what have got myself into is exactly what I said to myself as well😉

what do you do whit all these defenders after the build is done, do you keep them or put them up for sale do you make them for customers?
What is the tool you used to put the mud flaps on? Been trying for a while and not had much luck!
Good vid would like to see one of the under coat rustproofing as need to do mine

Dear Juice Motor how can I find and buy canvas rear canopy with holders and roof what is the price and from which company?
Exactly the job I need to do, did he weld along the top, I didn’t see that but I may have missed it, good video👍
Mowersandstuff yes sir, 2 seam welds along the carrier brackets onto the top of the crossmember 👍🏻

loving the rebuild. What year is this green Defender from? The black Defender next to it in the end
Loving this channel, keep it up!
Nice job what is the underseal you like to use ?
Did you not paint the outside? The electrophoretic black that's on it won't last long outside.
Should go for a LOF clutch maybe single mass really good clutches 👍 and loving the videos keep them coming
Really enjoying the videos

Would like we have a look around the place all the cars
looking good dude....
May I recommend a LOF clutch for your clutch replacement
sorry, why You are not repaint the fuel tank?
That's pretty much how I look this lockdown - five weeks cleaning and painting a chassis is no fun.
Good to see this as a common problem. But, Why don't any youtuber mechanics wear overalls (coveralls) , I blame Freiburger!
First time watching your video! You've got a new sub here just because I love Defenders and also car restoration...brilliant job bro. 👏
Good content glad your channel popped up on my recommened. I always though 90 and 110 chassis were the same front and rear and the difference was in the length in the middle/out riggers etc. Whats the difference in the rear crossmember?
Definately not, much shorter behind the back wheel
Who doesn't love lock down hair cuts...lol another great vid ATB Glen
Looking nice now , do you sell them when completed
Some of these builds are private commissions and some are my own projects. When one becomes available I’ll let you guys know! 😁 Thanks for watching!
Fuel pump while you got the tank out?
It’s working great! Not hard to change it if we have trouble in future
I searched so long for somebody, who works on Defenders and shows how to do
