I love how the implication here is that hades was holding back all the previous times he fought you. Unlike the other bosses who all got external buffs like a new map, more allies or better equipment. Hades did not get any of that he just decided to go all out.
Well, he was not really holding back before. After you fought him in his phase 3, Zagreus ask him if this was his power when he fought the Titans and Hades answer Yes, but he forgot this power, the 3 Fates helped him to get it again
no he gains one ally and that is cerberus

Not a fair description since Hades' new moves were the least of my worries during this boss fight, rather it were the mini bosses such as the Power Couple etc, and that freaking Cerberus attack lol

Finally! I had just done it. I had 8 HP left, beat the second phase of Extreme measures hades. My heart pounding. The look of horror I had seeing this man stand up for a phase 3 to then one shot me 💀

I was running heat level 32 with extreme measure 4, beat his second phase with 22 seconds left. After 60 hours of gameplay, this game could still surprise me, with pain and terror.

@@Harsh_8991 Basically you have this heat system in the game. Higher heat = more difficult.
Heat increases when you add certain conditions to maps, certain buffs and debuffs to yourself and enemies.
I've finally made it to this boss fight myself and can't believe how much harder it is than the original fight

this scene at 7:13 Hades constantly healling himself and Zagreus being protected by Athena's shield while both trying to deal dammage to the other is really epic

It exists to mock Hades, with all Poseidon’s true might behind it
I remember my first time fight extreme hades, it took me by surprise and he pretty much kicked my teeth in. My next run when i reached him, he asks if you forgot to turn it off, and Zag's words mirrored my thoughts. If that's what Hades is really like, than i want to prove i can give as good as i get. repeat a couple times with varying dialogue, and when i finally got that win, it felt exhilarating... There's no feeling like a well deserved victory in the face of adversity.
Yes! The writing is so on point in this game!
Ok but the fact that Hades summons Cerberus though-

It kinda makes sense with the three phases, Zag can only have 3 Defy Deaths.
Yes there are ways to replenish them in the game, but its a interesting concept I noticed.

I find it very interesting that its only 3 phases, like the amount of defy deaths Zagreus can upgrade to.

I love how hard is this game, I only beat teseo 2 twice, and I die cruelty in hades boss. This game is fantastic, I wish a expansion with new weapons and bosses
VERY interested to see what's next from Supergiant. Who know, they may even spin-off a smaller team aka Evil Empire and Dead Cells to continue work on this, though from what it seems like SG like to put out "complete" experiences.
@@ClemmyGames friend, I discover in hades I can buy a weapon variable, better than I expected. I never play something of supergiant so I will try bastion and transistor, I heard they are very good games.
Pd: I beat hades yesterday with the machine gun, I loved that boss fight

Honestly after the normal fight I was thinking this isn't so bad
THEN HE GOT UP AGAIN
I tried this fight myself once and barely got to second phase. I can't imagine winning this without stacking Athena's blessings and using ranged weapon to stay the hell away from him. The spear throw that's basically hitscan and does 50 damage? The frigging Cerberus rush that hits for *100* and is essentially a wave of fire?? And having to find a second to break the vases that constantly spawn so you don't get overwhelmed?
Athena was a big help
I guess it really depends on playstyle, I just go Captain America with Athena's dash. Haven't had much luck with the Adamant rail.

After beating him he claims that he was never holding back just forgot his powers as an excuse
Just picked this up last night with the 20% off sale on Switch. Waiting to finish Will of the Wisps first, as that TOTALLY took me by surprise and have been alternating between that and CrossCode on PS4, when my kids want to play on the Switch. All this while I'm STILL waiting for PS4 to put up the 1.05 patch for Blasphemous so I can finish the last Penitence with the rosaries I got after beating the first two that still don't appear cause of the bug. Yeah, that was a lot, but I'm looking forward to playing Hades!

Just defeat it like 1 hour ago, and i say the 3rd phase is really suprise me, using the shield of Chaos

Nice win, you wrecked him! Athena hooked you up too. What Bow aspect is that? I'm sort of addicted to the Achilles Spear and haven't tried any other weapon aspects. Totally choked on my 3 attempts at Hades on normal mode, had him down to a sliver of health in phase 2 and lost my composure all 3 times, I absolutely should have won all 3 of those haha. Just got my 3rd Death Defiance though so hopefully next time!
Without spoilers, it's not a bow ;) The spear is a great weapon! I believe I got my first win with that
That's Lucifer. A gun aspect. It's been boosted by Athena here for extra damage. The fact that Hades was just soaking it up still is a testament to his obseen level of power here. I never had the guts to try "extreme" Hades after nearly having my ass handed to me with extreme Theseus.

Jesus I can only just beat his second phase after 1/5 runs, madness
FInally beat this guy on heat 17 with the bow. I had such a murderous build with boosted Ares on Chirons special with extra arrows and 3 chaos booms boosting special. Plus flurry shot on attack with Epic Demeter and decay. I am not looking forward to attempting again with a less broken build
Yeah It'll be a looong looong time till I get there haha. At the moment I can only just almost get past the 2nd domain boss.
There is some grind to it and the mirror upgrades certainly help

@@ClemmyGames I never thought to try Zeus blessing on it. considering its probably the fastest proc rate weapon that makes a lot of sense.
How'd you get Cerberus to do... that? I've beaten the game I'm just getting achievements at this point

Bro I just defeated him, 20 hp left and no death defiances. My hand was shaking, so proud I recorded it on my phone, only for nothing to come of it. No one told me good job, Hades didn't say anything, no reward apart from the usual titan blood, AND ZAGREUS SLIPPED ON A BANANA PEEL! I hate this game sometimes

When i beat this fight i felt kinda disappointed... i wished i was using anything other than Chiron Bow so it would have lasted more lol

I cant for the love of god make this game to run/open, I tried everything in the FAQ section on the steam page of the game, but ever since the 1.0 update this game just does not open on my computer, lol I wish they went back to early acces veriosn when my game actually opened.

Yeah was kinda expecting the 3rd phase but man it gets intense! Had a GREAT run with cluster bomb + rocket launcher & Artemis Special.

If this was the original fight the game would be way better
I think someone else said it best, the previous fights feel like he's holding back, but now he isn't. I think it fits.

Especially his second and third phase , although I beated second try it's still one ofthe roughest experiences
