Winning Eleven 6 Final Evolution: PS2 v GameCube

- I love the GameCube version of WE6 Final Evolution but haven't tried the PS2 equivalent - until today! So let's have a look at both versions and see which game is best.

I love this game, but no one talks about it, ever. Has best art style and ball has heaviness to it, every aerial ball feels realistic, like a ;physical tussle, you feel strength of target men, feel speed of fast players, there are fouls and cards for AI, there are pens, good AI, can score all types of goals. Hard for me to fault it. I think I prefer it to pes 3, 4 or 6 and any PES after 6.
We need it on ps5 :)😊

It is above PES 5 in a very, very important aspect: it has the drawings of the shadows of the players' arms.
It’s crazy that the GC version was never released in the West. At least there is an English patch for it.
I imported the GameCube version on day 1. My friends were playing PES on PS2 and they were round my house every day playing this. This was first winning Eleven game i bought. After this i bought all the PS2 Winning Eleven games. Even a couple of the J.League versions
Really great the youtube showed this video to me. As a huge WE/PES fan. Great review. I still own my GameCube version. This PES is kinda the LAST version of the original Winning Eleven. They changed a lot of things on WE7.
Inspired to play myself after watching this. I did the Man U v Barca and lost 3-1. Veron scored two 🤣
stumbled across the same question a few weeks prior, if only there was a completely translated GC version, that would be without a doubt the better version. WE 6 FE in any case is one of the greatest WE games, a milestone.

While pes 2 looks like an upgraded ISS 2.
Back in the day I had no idea these different WE versions existed. I probably knew there was a Japanese equivalent of PES but had no idea they made these ‘final evolution’ style enhanced games. My friends and I would have defo played these over our PES releases.
This GameCube version is incredible. It is under appreciated but that is probably due to the GameCube being less popular and also less modded.
My favorite PES game is PES 3. But I like PES 2 also. Everything after that is rubbish. Simplicity and fast gameplay is what I like about PES 3 and PES 2.
The only thing i dont like much in Final Evolution is the Goal Keeper. Its not bad, but an aspect of the GK model, when he jumps to stop the ball, he jumps, falls and turns the body towards the goal giving an anti aesthetic motion to it. 3:02 exemplifies perfectly what i mean. The rest of the game is awesome!
To this day the Alternate Menu Theme has been not available to the public...

Is there a real gameplay differance actually if played on emulator 60fps? Also am I seeing things or the gamecube version has a 360 degree😮

It's definitively a good game at either version... though the Oranges031 shtick breaks me every time I see it.
Pretty sure that was Cafu too, yeah.
