    Great set up Cris! Can't go wrong with classic Proraso! First soap I bought was, Proraso White. Great performer! Cheers Robert

      Hi mate, yeah same here and it did a great job protecting my first shave! And I think what I used for this shave is a cracking first set for beginners at not too much of a cost!
      Cheers

    Nice vid Cris and great shirt. Proraso is a favourite of mine. I bought the 400 ml bottle of aftershave as its much more cost effective. The pre shave certainly gets your attention.

    Proraso products are good. I just wish the volume of your video were louder, so I could hear it better.

      Hey Don, if you are able to try my latest video can you check the volume comparison to see if there is any difference?

      Don Fraysier my first wet shave was with Gillette gel, never again with that. ordered some proraso starter pack from my local barbershop. getting it tomorrow can't wait to try it out.

      +Daniel Karlsson Proraso is lovely stuff mate! Lathers really good and smells lovely with a good kick of menthol if you went with the green!

    Great tutorial but as a 20 year wet shaver I think you skipped a few important steps. Step 1 make a giant coffee step 2 pick that mornings shave music, I suggest something from your teens or 20s to make you feel youthful and invigorated step 3 pre shave step 4 shave and even though you'll promise yourself just two quick passes you'll go for three possibly four despite being bbs at two step 5 alum block step 6 Thayers step 7 aftershave step 8 balm and yes you might think steps 5-8 are overkill but that's what happens when you do a 3-4 pass shave daily twice a day step 9 admire your handiwork step 10 look at the time gulp down the coffee and run. Oh and if your also a head shaver repeat 1-9 before going to step 10.

    Nice tutorial, I've just bought the very same Proraso product (shaver is Edwin Jagger). Just a few more question, the pre-shave, on dry skin ? The soap, how long after the pre-shave ? The balm is before the after shave, and just straight after ? It seems you said usually it's the contrary, no ? Oh and lovely manchunian accent 👍😁

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha cheers buddy, this is a really old video, need to do an update to be honest.
      Once the pre shave is one I normally leave it a minute or 2 and then get my lather on.
      Post shave I now go for a splash or witch hazel/splash then onto a balm to finish off.
      The splashes have normally for astringent properties that aid in healing the skin.
      Hope this helps buddy!
      I’ll be doing a more up to date tutorial soon.

    thanks thumbs up,question...dont cold blades cut better? wouldn't heat expand blade edge making it more jagged? excuse my 7th grade science question.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I much prefer a cold water shave over a warm/hot water shave. Not sure if that answers the question lol.

    • @AnotherCutAbove

    I really like the Proraso white shave soap. In Toronto it is only $10 . It works great.

    • @AnotherCutAbove

      @Dev9172 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know de shavers really get into this . They spend so much money . I have one cream i paid $20 for . That is as high as I will go . OK. Maybe one day I will get TOBS or D R Harris . They are over $30 in Toronto. But for now I will stick to this soap and ones like it . I like Lea soap too .

      I love Proraso shave soap, and over here in Europe it's cheap to. Normally they go for about €6,- but you can get them for a discount at some online stores for €3,-
      Try the after shave balm to, it's so good for the skin after a good shave.

    You don’t find going over your face that many times in one shave irritating to your skin? Also what do you recommend to get rid of razor bumps? I Proraso White can help prevent. Btw any mate wearing a Man U top can’t be all that bad.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be and with this razor it probably was but I can’t remember to be honest. The razors I use now make shaving a breeze and cause me minimal irritation. With regards to helping with razor bumps there are several great products on the market some of my favourites are lucky tiger face tonic, MAOL grooming aftershave, witch hazel, and the list goes on. There was a product that I really enjoyed for it but I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it right now. GGMU! Proraso white is quite a nice lightly scented product for sensitive skin! Hope that helps a bit buddy.

      Another Cut Above thanks for the info. It does help. I just started using Proraso White so we’ll see how it does. Here in the US we Bumper Stopper 2 that worked for me for a while but not anymore for whatever reason. I’m still using razor cartridges because I’m always in rush and like to shave in the shower. It would probably do my face a favor by switching to a safety razor and using the shaving soaps/creams.

    • @AnotherCutAbove
      @AnotherCutAbove  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris L I’m using the leaf razor at the moment and it’s amazing! Better than a cartridge razor for me anyways and uses half de blades!

      Very good if you have a sensitive skin and it gives much better results than shaving foam from a can.

    Thanks

    • @AnotherCutAbove

      i use the lotion first for its alcohol benefit and then balm to soothe and moisturise.

    Me again. A good tip for you friend to map his face is to use cotton wool. Against the grain cotton wool will stick to your beard. With the grain not so much. Hope this helps. Cheers Dave
