I love fly fishing. Tying a fly, then going out and catching fish on that fly is so fulfilling and addicting! Because of its light weight, a fly can be manipulated in ways very few lures can replicate. I love all types of fishing from 12ft rods and stainless braided leader for sharks to ultralight but if I had to choose only one method, it's fly fishing for me! Great video! 😎👍
You will be successful, don't be discouraged at first, see if you can get a fiberglass fly rod at yard sale. I have been using a fly rod since the 60s, the price of fly rods these days is disgusting
You all should do a video on how to do upkeep like you were showing in the intro of this video. Like how much it helps and what else you could do to help local streams get back on there feet. Living in WV is amazing and beautiful but alot of the no name streams and rivers that nobody ever hears about are very badly over fished and littered just as bad. I'd really like to help my local area. But shit gets old when you clean up your few and far between spots Everytime you go just for a fish or 2 on a good day. I went today and caught 5 small larger mouth bass only because I drove 45 mins to hit few smaller ponds and really small lake. The lake was very nice looking up that's only because there is a dog park and runners are always out there. As well directly arcoss from it is a large very expensive to live in neighborhood. I just want people to not littler... We already are making a big enough impact without litteraly throwing garbage everywhere.. seriously thought I don't wanna be the dude who puts signs up saying clean up ur shit. Alot of our waterways have shit in them from coal mining and also oil and gas I'm sure.
Good question. My personal preference and what I recommend to people for bass fishing is a nine foot six weight rod. Handles poppers to streamers well and if you eventually fish for bigger bass or trout, the rod can handle it.
Is it possible to fish top-water flies in the late autumn? Im going to spain, and its around 15-24 +celcius there at the moment, will be there for two weeks.
We were using a six weight but that was under-gunned for the weeds. For largemouth bass in heavy weed cover, we recommend an 8 weight. Helps turn over big flies too! Love catching bass on a fly rod, the topwater takes are so explosive!!!
I love the fly rod there's an art to IT. It's more then just fishing
You should prolly look up rules of fly fishing and watch that video. Lol
Pretty piece of water and looked like a ton of fun. Hard to beat fly fishing for bass on top water. Enjoyed the video, guys. Well done.

Couldn't agree more!

3:25 actually if memory serves bob clouser developed the clouser minnow for smallmouth bass, and it was adapted to salt water.
I was just planning on heading to one of my area lakes for largemouth on my fly rod. Very timely episode.
I usually fish for largemouth from a float tube. How about a show on fishing from a float tube?
Y’all should do an offshore fly fishing video

I would think so at those temperatures
What underwater camera are you using?
go pro 7
fishing the dock with the fly line wrapped over the rod....
what rod weight # ?

6
Use an 8 or a 7 for small ones
Small poppers = a lot of small bass and larger bluegills before but the big fish will also bite small flies
Missed opportunity. Should of said “Now THIS is why we Fly”
Forget the dad's....I want his momma
