Game changer I need to make up some the waters hard up here quite cold so I got time. I get different information out what you guys fish from you thanks for videos
Hey Alvin one fly that get's over looked for trolling is a Royal Coachmen size 6 with a Marabou Wing. Also good for time's like winter Rainbow trout trolling. Just saying. A friend of mine who is a fishing nut when he's not commercial trolling for Salmon. It's like an old school favorite and easy to tie. Did I say Marabou Wing ya but not enough. Just saying.
Thanks for posting. I wish more people would fly fish for bass. I live in prime shoalbass water and it can be challenging to get decent info on fly fishing bass techniques. Keep up the good work
I also have heard of him saying that if he tied them using as little deer hair as he would like folks wouldn't buy them because they would be to small and not appealing to the human eye.
So I'm in Kreelex country. That would be Parkersburg, WV, current home of Kreinik, the company that makes the original Kreelex flash. I just found out that Kreinik is moving to California per their website. Doug Kreinik is retiring and the company has been sold. Supposely, there will be an 8-week delay in any orders from the factory during this move/transition. I've never tied or tried the Kreelex fly, but this video is going to be my segway into tying them. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! The Kreelex probably works really well in the winter because it looks like a dying shad. That's why the gear guys use spoons and jig lipless cranks that time of the year.
Super video, Alvin - thanks. I love the Kreelex and tie them in a #10 to target big bluegills. I tie them in larger sizes for bass but was wondering which size you most commonly use? Thanks again and tight lines.
Getting back in to fly fishing after 15 years. Always fished poppers and topwater with floating line. When using subsurface flies, do you recommend switching out to a sink tip or sinking line?
Just depends on how deep you need to get. We use sinking tip lines during the cooler months and fish sinking flies on floating lines during the warmer months.
Appreciate the content my man! I'm trying to learn a few fly patterns to cast on spinning and casting gear for bass, any tips for fly patterns for those set ups?
Not at the moment but I have a few patterns that will be available through Blue Line Flies. Sign up for my email list and I'll let you know when they are available. www.alvindedeaux.com/mailing-list
These are my go to patterns when they aren't coming up.
You mentioned email. Can’t find your address.

A white Drunk and Disorderly has been the most producing fly for me; followed by Whitlock’s NearNuff crayfish. Great video! 🤙🏽
Can’t believe the wooly bugger didn’t make the list. It’s an outstanding fly for smallmouth bass especially but it’s known to catch almost any fish
Signed up for the mailing list, love your content
Nice, thanks for your insight and hope all is well with you and your family 😉👍
Doing great over here! Thanks and I hope you are doing well.

Thanks for watching and stay warm!
A great selection of flies, love the look of the Krelex, might be a useful pattern for use here in the UK at the start of the trout season.
It was originally tied as a trout fly so it should work.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing will give them a try and report back.

Clouser is #1 for me too.
Catches everything.
Hay dude great video! Just subscribed....
Awesome thank you!
Nice video. Love to see these that are purposeful in the time of season we are in
Yeah I was going through my box picking out the flies I wanted to bring on a mid winter trip. Turned into a video.

I feel your pain!
Bob Clouser has said that if he could only have one color, it'd be all white. I also love olive/white in clear water.
I also have heard of him saying that if he tied them using as little deer hair as he would like folks wouldn't buy them because they would be to small and not appealing to the human eye.

It is deadly!

That's good to know, thanks?
Great video. Thank you for the recommendations
Clouser is always tied on for me too from pond largemouth to shallow river smallmouth. Great video brother!
Alvin you're the man
Thanks!
Great video

Clousers and buggers really oughta be something I fish with more now given colorado front range waters are getting hotter.
Alvin i appreciate your video. How do you fish the clouser minnow for bass? Floating line, sinking line, retrieve etc....Thanks!
Hey Alvin, As always great video. What colors of the kreelex have been most effective for ya'll?
Silver and gold has been the go to. Black and purple would be number 2.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing awesome. going to tie some up.
@@jdubcubed Good luck!

I just subscribed breather 🌴🙏🏾🇰🇳
Thank you!
That leech on a wide gap hook is cool! Was that a happy accident?
I tied up a bunch of those a while ago. Might have to tie one up in a video soon.
Are you supposed to add split shot to make it sink faster?
That is one option, sinking or sink tip lines are another.
Hey Alvin! Great video. What length and weight rod do you prefer throwing these flies on? Thanks man!
Since I use a sink tip line a lot during the winter I go with a 9 foot 7 weight.
Swimmin jimmy is mine
I got to get some!
I wish I could sign up for your emails. Id like to pay by the year?
The email list is free.
No meat whistle !!
My big bass worm/ leech is pretty close.
A chartreuse and white Clouser, tied in the right size, will catch anything that swims.
True
Do you sell any hand tied flies ?

No wooly booger huh?
I came to say the same.
I thought about it, might be able to lump it in with the leech box.
Dungeon has risen to the top of my subsurface list. I’ve found them to be cheaper than game changers and similarly effective.
