I enjoyed your video very much. I spent a few weeks living in that steep sloped hut and working on the glacier in 1966 or 67 for the federal govt. I was grad student at Western and had the job of a lifetime for three summers. (Much more time on two other glaciers.) I think the ice came over that rock brow and was much closer to the hut. I am now 85 and have seen so much change in our glaciers. Thanks for the views. Brian
Thanks Brian! That sounds like quite the place to spend 3 summers, definitely some interesting stories, I bet! I think you are the first person to comment on this video that has worked out of the Place Glacier cabins.
Great video!!!!! Awesome footage! My friend lives across the street from this trail head and I think about climbing up there every time I go. Now I know I definitely will next time I’m up there
Luke, great video once again, and Nina is an inspiring adventurer as always! In general, where do you source the music for your videos? In particular, I would like to know what the music is in this video from about 5:48 to 8:25 (and a little beyond), and in the Mt. Currie video from about 5:00 to 7:47. It fits perfectly! Thanks!
Thanks dude! I spend an enormous amount of time searching for music on free music archive... it's difficult to find usable songs that I have permission to use. For future reference, all the songs are listed in the description in the order they appear.
@@lifeofluke Thanks very much! All I had to do was click "show more". My bad! I hope you will host a master class on combining the passions for videography with outdoor adventuring. I think you would have a great following among drone pilots and the general public who want to know more about refining their video skills and telling an engaging story in stunning outdoor settings, which you do so well!
What another great video. I can't believe more people haven't watched this, but i believe it's only a matter of time. It's gonna be huge. Then I can say I remember you before the dodgy glasses. Keep pushing on.
Where did the wood for the fire come from, did you pack it in or did you find some by the cabins? Also how do you usually deal with that when you’re backpacking somewhere without wood?
Amazing videos! If it's a stressful workday, It all goes away watching your videos. I am truly surprised by the number of subscribers!! I would expect a shit load more. Keep it up Luke and thanks for sharing your journeys! Shame on you people for any thumbs down!
Recently came across the videos, amazing and definitely makes me jealous, especially that I live in BC! Quick question though, what drone do you use? Thank you!
Man, stunning video work, but... I hope you guys realize advertising places like this on social media will guarantee to absolutely doom the spot... those huts are tiny, can only really accommodate a group or two. Just look at what happened to Joffree Lakes - hordes and hordes of people, kinda ruins it for everybody :(
Have to disagree with you here, Max. Only the most serious and invested folks are gonna make it up to Place Glacier... the "trail" is difficult to follow, overgrown, with a very challenging slippery wet log crossing the creek, most people do not want to work this hard and will not bother and skip it for some place else that is easier to access!
@@lifeofluke I really hope you're right! I'm just dumbfounded how the outdoors is so popular suddenly; for example, we used to ski on the Duffy and you would have a handful of cars at some of the parking zones - now they are overflowing, sometimes even on weekdays! It's nuts. And ski touring isn't exactly easy or safe - yet everyone's doing it! Love that people are getting outside, but sad about the total loss of solitude in so many of these areas. If you do this long enough, you'll see what I mean - 10 years from now you might regret all the posts, but perhaps not. I used to organize the university outdoors club back in the day, now I sometimes regret it haha. Anyway, stoked you guys got up there - it is so so stunning!!
You use drone footage well... it’s helping the storytelling instead of taking away from it. What was going on in the second to last shot where your friend was climbing on to something...

I Recently started watching a month or two ago. I like flowing water and forest. The glacier was pretty cool too. Great log crossing Nina. 👍
Thanks Alan!
Way to go Nina! Crossing that creek.

haha, thanks!
Awesome video, But I would be worried about HANTAVIRUS lurking in those cabins? We have it in the Sierra's
No I'm not worried about that at all
What is hantavirus?
lovely 💕💕💕
nice video, keep it up!
Thanks Mauricio!
Beautiful 😍
Thanks Christine
Awesome video. Awesome views!!
thanks Shawn!
Nice video as always Luke!
Thanks Harlan!
One of those places you've heard of but will probably never visit.
Yep, not very many people make it up here
I envy those blue skies from Lower Mainland , BC. As of this comment, it is covered with smoke from down South. Great Video as usual.
The smoke arrived here too, glad we made the trip happen before the smoky skies!
Stellar video as always! Nina making that log crossing look like it was nothing!
haha Nina lives for this stuff!
Where did the wood for the fire come from, did you pack it in or did you find some by the cabins? Also how do you usually deal with that when you’re backpacking somewhere without wood?
There was some wood lying around up there, usually I don't have a fire at all and just cook with a camp stove
This is exactly the kind of stuff I can’t wait to do

big thanks, Chad, it's awesome to hear that!
Yet another amazing video man loving the dog backpack for nina im calling it by the end of this year your gonna blow up man just wait!
thanks Aidan
Neens look at you go girl @1:58 and @12:11 ... is that paddle-able?
It looks about the same width as my packraft... so maybe? would be fun if it was!
another great video from a great man. nina is such a smart dog. wish to join you on your trips one day! good luck
she definitely is, thanks Pawan!
those drone shots make you guys look like you're in a video game.
DAMM, THOSE SHOTS!!
Recently came across the videos, amazing and definitely makes me jealous, especially that I live in BC!
Quick question though, what drone do you use? Thank you!
Thanks Arvin! I use the mavic 2 pro
Beautiful place, why is it private property? Now that’s my kind of hiking steep sections roots etc. Nice video again man.
thanks! The huts are occasionally used by national research council scientists but open to the public
lifeofluke I see, thanks.

I appreciate that! That's the old broken dam at the bottom of the glacial lake
lifeofluke ahhhh
