Be careful while crossing for the top of a glacier to the rock! Had a friend a few years ago slip and get wedged upside down between the snow and rock, couldn’t expand his lungs and died. Always try and think of all the what if’s! Great vid though
Great video, I have lived in Nakusp and been up to the lookout. My dream is to hike up and fly my paraglider off there. Another lookout worth the visit is in New Denver which I have flown off.
Great hot springs! Went there about 2 weeks before this video and the smaller ones by the river were flooded by the river. Check out the upper halfway hotsprings. I've heard they're a gem
pretty sweet ... but I can't believe you climbed up without any traction devices for your boots (microspikes at least!). Thanks for sharing another special place.
🤔 For those unaware, the sign at the beginning read, "Ministry" of Forests, because theres an environmental religious sect that oversees this forest, who's "minister" is an apostle of tree worship. They don't have written religious tomes, because books are written on paper(ie. tree flesh), so that would be sacrilegious and blasphemous. They did have a plan to record their sacrament onto papyrus, but alas, papyrus would NOT grow on snowy mountain peaks! 😁 Seriously though, cool video and hike.
Hey Luke your videos are awesome.. Thank u for sharing this beautiful gem with the world. Just want to ask you something. Is August a good time to visit Saddle mountain Lookout and are there any possibilities of avalanches as i can see Snow in your video. Thanks.
awesome vid luke. they just keep getting better and better. i hope eventually you can start getting enough view where it becomes profitable enough for you to adventure full time. keep it up.
Thanks Justin! That would be amazing if it happened, to create video full time would be a dream! And be able to travel farther, with better equipment, working with other creative people to tell inspiring stories!
As in a website of existing fire lookouts? There are some sites, I generally do a lot of online research to find them, some have very little info while others are well documented.
Luke, why does there look to be so much damage to the signage and trees near the beginning of the trail? Will that be repaired by the ministry sometime soon?
There was a ton of broken and fallen down trees, I assume it was from the heavy snow load this winter and/or possible avalanches. They will likely repair it this summer, as well as clear the trail which is completely blocked in some spots.
@@lifeofluke Thanks Luke appreciate it. I am slowing watching all your vids and wishing I had your backyard to play in. Very jealous of the natural wonders that surround where you live. Take care!
@@lifeofluke Thanks Luke, I'm hoping there was some confusion there. I'm really looking forward to hiking this mountain this summer. Your video was awesome. What date did you do this hike? I'm shooting for end of June, should there still be snow at the top at that time? Thanks for the advice. Cheers
Most beautiful place I've ever seen
Great video! My grandsons and I are going to Halfway hot springs in July. Looking forward to it.

Thanks Zack, that's a horrible way to go, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm pretty aware of what can happen and have taken relevant courses
Stunning views
Just discovered your channel. Awesome work! Have you ever been to the East Shore of Kootenay Lake? We've got some interesting relics of the past.....
Was that the Galena ferry on Arrow lake? Another awesome video

haha thanks!
damn i had the chance to go to those hot springs in 2019, but we didn't go because it was so hot in july and nobody wanted to get even hotter.
that was amazing
Thanks bro
Amazing!!! What time of year did you complete this hike? And how busy a spot is it in August?
This was in June. I would guess that July and August would be the busiest months of the year at this spot.
@@lifeofluke thx. Such a beauty hike. I’ll be hoping to complete mid August.

August is the perfect time! All the trail should be snow free by then, and there would be no chance of avalanches. Thank you!

@@lifeofluke Be careful about trying to do things better, I like the way your vids are right now! Maybe i am in the minority it that opinion.
Thanks Milo!
How do you find these hot springs?
Great views, is there a place to find existing fire lookouts in B.C.?
As in a website of existing fire lookouts? There are some sites, I generally do a lot of online research to find them, some have very little info while others are well documented.
Did you take a ferry to get to the hotspringz?
Actually you take a ferry to get to the fire lookout, the hot spring is on the same side as the highway

Thanks Sanjhosh! This was in June
Just incredible views thanks for sharing, by the way where did you get that coffee grinder?
Thanks James! I bought it on ebay, it's called the hario slim grinder

When did you go on this hike ? What month was it ?
June
That's very pretty I would want to live thier it would be awesome
Definitely would be!
Dogs are crazy😂
How long did it take you guys to go up and back down ?
Is august cold enough to enjoy the hot springs?
I would say August is too warm, but that's my personal opinion
How long was the hike?
Amazing video btw👍👍
Thank Jonathan! This one was about 2-3 hours to the top
@@lifeofluke Wow that is not bad at all. It looks steep as hell! Maybe for me a 4 hr. hike with plenty of breaks ! Thanks for another great vid.
Nina has the best life...
I do my best to give her some epic adventures!
👌👌👌
Nina is awesome
Hi, someone just mentioned to me that this trail is now closed as it's become public land so you can't hike it anymore. Any knowledge of this?
Hi Josh, I have no knowledge of that, but it doesn't sound right. If it's public land then there's no reason why you can't hike it.

@@joshuacox8104 Thanks! I went in early June. There will likely still be snow around the top in late June.
Your fucking awesome

I used to live in Penticton, but I now live on the road
How did you go about reserving this?
