It’s a good thing especially for people who are just learning. It’s important to keep track of your rows and stitches. For some it’s helpful to have that reminder. If you don’t need it well that’s great! Others do though. These videos are made for people who are at all stages/levels of crochet. She did make a written pattern as well! Maybe that would be more your style

What can I help with? The starting stitch is either a chain with a single crochet or a foundation single crochet stitch.
The repeat of saying 66 stitches is quit annoying.
