    Ty, ty, ty! I used Bernat Softee Chunky with an 8mm hook - should have used a 9mm with this yarn tho - too tight, but warm xx It took me under an hour to make :) Thank you for sharing this complicated-looking pattern with us all xx

    Thanks so much. I used lion brand hometown in black and orange for my sister to display in her shop. She has bees and sells her own honey and loads of honey related items. I made her a few amigurumi bees just for fun and she loved them and said her customers also loved them so she put in an order for 50 for Christmas. She also suggested I make some Cincinnati Bengals related items since she thinks they will sell well so I went looking for patterns to make hats, scarves, ear warmers and other items that work up quickly and I found this beautiful pattern for your ear warmer. It worked up so quickly I can probably make 2 or 3 in a hour. I did encounter 1 issue but its not related to the pattern but rather to the yarn I used. For whatever reason the orange seems to be considerably thicker than the black despite being the same exact brand and thickness of a bulky 6. I would put the black more in the 5 weight category but I didn't realize this until I was actually working with it. I still think it will be ok but I do wish yarn companies could be more consistent with the thickness of yarns with the exact same labeling. I sure hope her customers, who would consider purchasing 1 of these ear warmers either don't mind or better yet don't even notice.
    Again I want to thank you so much for sharing your talent with us all. God bless!
    If anyone is wondering how I used the 2 different colors...when it was time to reattach the yarn I simply attached the other color and finished the item. So its orange on 1 side black on the other and where they cross its like a stripe of both colors if that makes sense. I do wish TH-cam allowed us to share photos.

      I wish youtube allowed photo sharing as well! Sounds adorable! I hate when yarns have different thicknesses despite being the "same" yarn. If you want to share a photo with me you can send it to me on Instagram @taylorlynncrochet or join the Ash and Tay Crochet Community facebook group and share it there! I bet lots of other makers would love to see this pattern striped!

      @@Deecontractorat the 5 min 10 second mark in the video where she cuts the yarn and then switches sides to reattach the yarn I simply just attached the other color and continued making it just as she shows. I hope that makes sense.

    • @Deecontractor
      @Deecontractor 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      oh, I get. I was thinking one side like the top was one color and the backside was another color when it was flipped over. So it's like left side one color right side another.

    I love your tutorials. Just found your channel. I would love to see more of your work. Has anyone ever used a 4weight yarn on this project? Curious as to how many rows. I just usually never use a bulky yarn very much! Thanks! 😊💗🧶

    • @redheadedcowgirl2398
      @redheadedcowgirl2398 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did 13 chains at the beginning and 15-20 rows for the sides depending on the density of the yarn. I bought a weight 5 yarn but would consider it a weight 4 due to it being thinner and less dense and the adapted pattern worked really well.

    • @TaylorLynnCrochet

    I’m just wondering why the last 10 rows start with single crochet when the all of the others start with a double. Was this intentional?

    • @kirstenarnold7114
      @kirstenarnold7114 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With the seed stitch (which is what she's doing in this pattern), you always put a sc on a dc that's on the row below it, and dc on a sc on the row below.
      When she started doing the second panel, the row beneath has a dc on the end, so the new row needs to start with a sc. Hope this helps!

    I honestly dont know what I'm doing wrong did the first two of this patter just fine now on the 3rd 4th and 5th one for whatever reason when I do my second strip I have to end on row 9 to get my two strips to line up properly. If I do the teeth row it's an inch taller and it's on the wrong side. I'm keeping track of my rows. Idk🤷‍♀️
