This was a great tutorial!

I didn't realize that Home Economics was still being taught! I have such great memories of my two years in that class. I learned to sew and cook. Unfortunately we weren't taught to crochet or knit but I picked it up on my own. My school was very small (class of only 57) and I'm sure that was part of it. Kudos to you for teaching this essential class for girls AND boys. Thanks for your instruction in this video! ❤

I would find this tutorial more helpful if the weight of yarn was included, the size hook was included, and instructions for finishing the project. Otherwise this is an easy and beautiful stitch.

I appreciate your help in solving a years-long problem. Question: If I substitute a foundation row in a pattern that requires multiples plus extra chain stitches for turning, do I need to count the extra stitches at the end?

I bought a crochet pattern bc I didn’t know how to make a part of it on my own just by looking at it, and didn’t know what it was called since I’ve only been crocheting for a month. In the pattern I bought it just says “make a foundation double crochet row” and I was like HUH. Thank you for this video!!!!! Showing up close exactly where we need to put the hook and and saying how many loops we should have on our hook is so helpful! I didn’t even know what I didn’t know, and now I have the confidence to try it!

I like your teaching. I clicked on thinking it was for making a kitchen hot pad.( I heard this stitch was good for that) But at the end, there was no instruction on how or where to tie off. I now realize your videos are just the stitch, not an actual project. But that’s okay! I would only ask that you might show how to end the stitch for those of us who are still learning stitches. I am totally blind, and your tutorial is the best one out there so far my only question is when you were holding the chain of three and you have the not away from you and the hook close to you too going from left to right of the strand in the first tune, do you go through? I’m a bit confused on that plus when I was making the first one I had this big bulge of the other two chains are supposed to go into the bottom of the other chain. I am very confused if someone could help me out, I’d appreciate it because this looks so much easier than dealing with a long strand of chain and trying to keep it from twisting. Also, I am teaching myself how to crochet. Thanks again.

How to do the foundation crochet

Thank you! Such a great project for school color head bands! I love buffalo print, and found a tip that might work for your viewers for not getting your yarn tangled. When changing colors, instead of dropping the neutral or middle color yarn (maroon in this case) to the back, if you pull it to the front each time, it eliminates the tangling effect. Since you are carrying the neutral color through the entire project, it is easy to remember to bring it to the front instead of dropping it to the back. I hope this helps. I can't wait to make these headbands for my college granddaughter.

The first time I saw the thermal stitch , I picked variegated yarn! That was a mistake , I’m trying to keep with lady , looking at my work ! I couldn’t understand what loop she was pointing bcoz she had fingernails that looked like hooks ! My other problem was the yarn , I had to get some crochet markers , go through the chain , mark my loops 😑 after the third time of trying, I gave up ! Then later I found another tutorial, elderly lady explained very well , went slow , she was using variegated yarn ! Not me I tried some solid, bingo I got the hang of it, both of you did an awesome job on the tutorial!

I'm following the steps but when I get to the second row ( 2nd round) front double post crochet Stitch section I count only seven places left instead of eight. I havent skipped any... where am i going wrong?
