    FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE
    Ingredients
    1 Cup / 2 Sticks / 225g Butter
    18oz / 500g 60-70% Dark Chocolate
    7 Eggs
    1 Cup / 200g Sugar
    1 Tbsp Vanilla Essence
    Instructions
    Melt the butter and chocolate together over a simmering pot of water or in the microwave until completely smooth. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
    Beat the eggs and sugar together with a stand mixer, hand mixer or whisk until light, fluffy and almost tripled in size.
    Add the cooled melted butter and chocolate to the egg mixture in halves, whisking well in between until fully combined.
    Add the vanilla to the chocolate cake batter and give a final mix to combine, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
    Pour the chocolate cake batter into a lined 8 inch cake tin which has been wrapped in foil on the outside.
    Place the cake tin in a larger tin or roasting pan, half filled with water and bake the cake in a 160C/325F oven for 25 - 35 minutes. It will still look completely under cooked here but that's fine.
    Remove the cake from the oven and cool completely in the tin, then overnight or at least 6 hours in the fridge before serving.
    Notes
    Replace the vanilla essence with any other kind of essence, liqueur, or zest from citrus.
    Placing the cake in a water bath helps it bake more evenly.

    I made this cake for my bfs family- they LOVED it!!!
    What I did differently though was that I separated the egg yolks to the whites, whipped the whites with the sugar (i only used half of the sugar, i didnt want it to be too sweet) and mixed the yolks with the cooled down chocolate/butter mix! It makes the batter a whole lot lighter in texture! Overall, this recipe was amazing! My bfs mom ended up serving some tea along with the cake hehe

    This recipe is legit, spent a lot of time searching for chocolate torte recipes online and this was the one I decided to make. It’s amazing. Only modification I made was baking it in a 9-inch springform pan, didn’t do water bath, just set it in the oven for 28 minutes then cooled it for 6 hours. Turned out great!

    Hi! I made this using a 9-inch cake pan and it turned out so great and flavorful! I just added half the amount for each ingredient except sugar. It took over an hour to completely bake but it was so good and worth the wait!

    It’s really worth trying high quality taste
    I used all the ingredients half quantity 200 grams chocolate, 4 eggs , baked for 20 -22 mins

      I would separate my yolks and whites for my eggs, and whip my whites into soft peaks this will give a fluffier cake.

    Thank you very much, Carina! I made this cake for my dad for Fathers Day since he loves flourless chocolate cake. I didn't create the water bath with the pans, and it still cooked evenly. It had the perfect consistency, and it was not too sweet. Served it with strawberries and powdered sugar. Fantastic recipe!

    It looks soo delicious and really pretty the way you served it.
    Flourless chocolate cake was one of Audrey Hepburns favorite desserts.
    To pair I like Orange and raspberries to dip strawberries
    I am going to try this, I have made lava cake, I love that!
    The way the texture looks reminds me of something like chocolate cheese cake.

      Y did my cake did not set..i followed every instruction.
      It just did not set after 6hrs in refrigerator

      @@parul17gargi Did you bit the eggs for at list 5 min? Where your eggs room temp? Also did you let it cool completely before putting in the fridge? Sometimes if I am rushing i put it in the freezer over night. This cake needs to be refrigerated for at least 24hours

      It was all flowy..

      @@parul17gargi The only thing i can think of is the ingredients you used that you didn't bake it enough. I am a baker and make this cake regularly and it always comes out perfect. I always use the good quality chocolate and it's always dark 50% or more. I also think that your liquids ration might of been higher than your chocolate which is the stabilizer in this case. Try making it again and use medium size eggs or reduce to one egg less

    This cake is so good please everyone who is afraid of an eggy flavor. Trust me this tastes like cake made out of chocolate truffles. It’s Devine!!!!!!!! I added almond extract and the flavor played so well together ☺️ I also used 5 bars of the 70% Lindt chocolate. It was an expensive cake to make but worth every penny lol. I took it to a dinner party and it was a hit! We served it with vanilla oat milk and it was fabulous 😍

    Texture is excellent, I'd advise adding the chocolate while it's still warm enough to be very fluid and having the pan ready to go: my first attempt was good, but the batter was stiff enough by the time I put it in the pan that I was left with some pretty significant air pockets. I added a tablespoon of cinnamon, a tablespoon of espresso powder and a teaspoon of cayenne.

    I just finished making this cake i couldn’t resist tasting it while its still worm it cuts beautifully and looks rich and not runny at all as “like some mentioned “ I cooked it in the oven in water bath for about 40 min because my oven is old and only open it on the bottom... its in the fridge now can’t wait to dig in .. i did make some additional ingredients
    I used 5 medium size eggs
    More than half a cup of sugar
    250 g dark chocolate
    125 g butter
    Salt add it to the melted chocolate
    1/4Cup of ground almonds
    Vanilla essence
    Its really delicious i was scared it will taste like eggs but it doesn’t at all
    The recipe is like pudding you must use a water bath in the oven or it will not work

      Most of the recipes I've seen use the whole egg, but some whip the egg whites and yolks separate to incorporate more air for more lift. It seems to just be a simple preference thing.

    Wouldn’t adding the a chocolate and whisking just deflate the eggs? Isn’t folding the chocolate I’m a better alternative?

    Hi! If I want to add coffee flavour, in what form can I add it to the batter? I don't have any coffee essence and I'm trying to get out of the house as little as possible, because covid19 obviously. Is there a way to add coffee flavour safely without messing up the batter? Thank you x

    Hiii..love your recipes..i failed on this unfortunately.. i made half the quantity and tried baking in cake tin in water bath.. the cake is tasty..but not setting or turning hard..can u help me here ..

    Just tried it. Great texture but i hate dark chocolate so the bitterness is still there....maybe next time will try normal milk choc
