You CAN'T Pay At This Street Vendor - My Last Day In Afghanistan, Kunduz 🇦🇫

  • Although I approached this journey with considerable hesitancy and carried a weight of worries and risks upon arriving in Afghanistan, it quickly became evident that the country's people made my experience significantly smoother from day one.
Having traveled extensively throughout South Asian countries, I was no stranger to the renowned hospitality in the region. However, my arrival in Afghanistan was particularly remarkable given the nation's prolonged history of conflict and the near absence of tourism.
Much like my experiences in Iran, I found that I blended in seamlessly with the local population in Afghanistan, both in terms of appearance and attire, initially avoiding the "foreigner" treatment. This remained the case until I took up my camera and spoke English. Those who have watched my TH-cam videos from Afghanistan are already familiar with the warmth and generosity of the people, who often insisted on covering the cost of meals and extended invitations to their homes for lunch or dinner.
No matter where you travel in the World, you understand that there are always beautiful souls adorned with the most heartwarming smiles and an innate sense of hospitality, even if they have endured the harshest circumstances for years. It dawns on you that a simple snack can bring a smile to any child's face. You recognize that all humans, regardless of their background, share common aspirations: food, family, security, happiness, and a connection to something greater, whether a divine presence or a higher purpose.
I extend my heartfelt love and appreciation to every individual I encountered during my time in Afghanistan, including the shop owners, drivers, my guide, and the countless ordinary people who crossed my path throughout my journey. ❤️
Please note: This is not intended as a travel advisory. Afghanistan currently has a government that remains unrecognized by any nation, resulting in the absence of embassies and international diplomatic relations. I am an experienced traveler who explored the country in the company of a reputable guide.

The 15 year old little chef is really wonderful, he cooked for you everything whatever you had demanded. Brought the egg and roti from another shop and refused to take money from you. You know he served you more than he has on his restaurant. I have been in Afghanistan for more than 2 years but never been outside of base camp. I miss the milk which comes from colorful flowers and wonder you never spoken about it 😂😂😂. Afghanistan is wonderful.

I watched all of your videos on this tour, but I didn't comment until the end. I think it's the right time to post a comment. Simply, you have helped us to forget the horrible image that Western media has in our mind regarding Afghanistan. The way you deal with people in particular is very impressive and I think you and I were lucky to have the support of your guider and we were able to see so much. I think of your guide as someone who could represent the kindness of the Afghan people themselves. Good luck 😃 Love from Srilanka

Ok Davud, so I just finished all your Afghan travel series, and I must say, it was really enjoyable watching you travel thhere with an open mind. I've watched other travellers, but your coverage has its own flavour, its filled with warmth and a willingness to learn rather than pass judgements. Above all, you have been extraordinarily generous with the locals, maybe because it's your Azerbaijani culture that is common with Afghans (for example, when people refuse to take money, you still give it to them knowing that they are just being polite, or that you leave tip to the needy without any expectation). It's been really a human experience, thanks for taking us along with you!

Great people and great hospitality. Us Americans, usually see the way people look at you, the camera, etc., and would assume the people are angry, disapproving and so on. All it is, is cultural differences. Everyone is human and no matter what language you speak, a handshake and a hug will always mean the same thing. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Thank you Davud I have thoroughly enjoyed all the content from your Afghanistan series and will miss the place probably as much as you will.
The people are so hospitable and generally warm and friendly.
You were respectful to the Afghani people and you were treated accordingly.
The final goodbye to the young man who cooked breakfast was a moving moment for me.
    safe travels from Sydney, Australia.

From what I saw from other channels as well Afghans are friendlier than Europeans in many countries. They are happier and more helpful. And the food looked interesting. And the fruit looks amazing too.
Thank you for the clip that brings the world closer to Afghanistan and the Afghan people.
Please come back and visit here again. Especially your lovely guide's wedding ceremony!!
That I would see how they make and prepare this.

I love your content, especially these past videos on Afghanistan. I feel it extremely important that people across the world, especially here in the US, get a genuine look into a beautiful country with the people to match. Most people just see what the media shows them and it's shameful. Thanks again.
