- I visited the Ensenada cruise port on 2/26/23 while on a Carnival Radiance 3-day cruise. If you are looking for some things to do in the port of Ensenada, this video shows me walking around town, and visiting a few different places.
Here are some of the things I did during this visit:
I walked the whole length of the Malecón (boardwalk). This is a good option if you don't feel safe going into town
I visited a place called Juanitos (not shown in video) that does boat tours for individuals and groups. Lesson learned, group rates are much better!
I walked through the Mercado Negro and showed the Fish Market. On the way out, I point out where Tacos Lucero is located.
I visited the Mexican Candy Store and showed some of the things you can purchase.
I visited a fish pedicure place called Massage, Facials, and Treatments.
I visited a place called Restaurant and Bar Ancestral. It has a craft brew area, a regular bar area, and a restaurant area.
I visited the area where they have some carnival rides and food vendors, which is located next to the Parque De La Bandera (flagpole area). This is going to be here until the end of Summer.
I point out the kids play areas, and places to get some food and snacks, in the Parque De La Bandera (flagpole area).

I don’t mind repetitiveness, it helps me orient myself when I get there, I’m kinda scared w/ all bad news happening in 🇲🇽but these videos make me feel more confident, taking princess cruise this august and this is one of stops, thanks so much☺️
Thank you! I also have to remind myself that these videos get watched by different viewers all the time, so showing things I have shown before is important. Also, things are always changing, so even repeat viewers may get something out of it that they didn't see or hear in another video. Glad to hear that you feel better about going to Ensenada. Those things you hear about, that our wonderful media loves to sensationalize, are few and far between. Also, the cruise ships will not go to any port if they feel there is any risk to their passengers.

There are seafood restaurants near the port, but not sure about live music.

Yeah, many people get stuck at Papas & Beer. It's nice to show people there is more to Ensenada then just Papa's 🤣

Sounds yummy! I learned recently that most of the "regular fish tacos" are made of shark. Found that to be very interesting.
Is there liquior stores close in walking distance from the port.
The place I like to go to (Licores Plaza 2) is about a 15 minute walk from the cruise port or a very short walk (less than 5 minutes) from the shuttle drop off over by the McDonalds.
Thank you so much for this video. My family is doing Ensenada from San francisco in 2 wks and we were gonna do a tour but with all the recent news i decided against it. I'm glad to see we can actually walk around some parts of port on our own cos i'd still want to see some sights and take pictures without fear of 'getting kidnapped' or harassed. How do we find our way to these spots? And back to the ship without getting lost?

It is definitely cooler during that time, so that seems about right. There are beaches in Ensenada, but the one closest to the port is usually closed to sewage contamination 😥
Are there jewelry stores within walking distance
There is one in walking distance (short walking distance if you use the shuttle that drops you off by the McDonalds).
Hi! I recently came across your videos as I plan to cruise to Ensenada in December. I’m assuming it is very cold during this time of the year but that’s the only time I’m able to go. Are the taco trucks like Felix and floresta still serving the public during the month of December?
Glad you found me! Yes, it is on the cooler side, but not really cold. Yes, the taco trucks are available during that time. I think they are only unavailable when there is really bad weather (that includes rain).

Oh, one last thing… during December are the pools/jacuzzis still in service on the ship? What are the main differences between the other months you have travelled versus December?

I have only brought back non-prescription medicine and had no issues

Wow, we got on the bus at the port and paid the $4, they took us to a dumpy area. People harassing us to buy Chinese junk, or offering massages. The area you wound up at was way nicer. The nicest thing I saw was a sears, we actually went in there to warm up, the streets were like rivers.
Oh wow! So sorry to hear that. I’m curious what area they dropped you off at because that doesn’t sound like either of the two normal drop off spots.
one thing about paying to have your fish cooked. If you buy it yourself at least you get to pick what fish you want. :)
True! :) Interesting thing I heard not long ago is that many (if not all) the places around there use shark for the fish tacos.

I don't believe they do, but they have this "dulce de leche" that is so yummy!
How long is the walk?
It depends on how fast you walk, etc. I would say around 20 mins.
What do you do for a living Hani because I’m trying to get on a cruise every other month like you 😂.
I am in the software industry and work from home. I get one Friday off a month, so I use that to take these 3-day cruises. I get really good offers from the casino, so it works out great!

Luckily, I haven't had that issue with the place I go to for my heart burn medicine. I am sure there are some sketch places that do (and they would never get my business).
Do I need a passport for the cruise or is a birth certificate and DL okay?
Also, what is a good tour for LaBufadora and zip lining?
Passports are recommended, but not required. Birth Certificate and DL are fine. In regards to tours, I would say check with Big Tony Tour Guide who works with Las Dunas Tours. This is who I used to go to La Bufadora. Here is his Facebook page: facebook.com/funinbajacalifornia?mibextid=LQQJ4d

When you are leaving the ship and going into Mexico? No, they do have a drug sniffing dog though.
