    You made no mention of the wineries around Ensenada, it's the Napa Valley of Mexico. there's a 100 wineries in the foothills around Ensenada known as the Valle De Guadalupe.

    Is it safe there? What are the unwritten rules that I should follow to ensure my safety there? Can I travel there from San Diego without getting kidnapped or extorted by the MXP? Baja California is not the safest, but is this area safe?

    • @leonardsheatravel
      @leonardsheatravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I just asked some people and they say it is fairly safe. I think you should ask people from there or other expats for the rules to live by to be safe. Good luck and let me know what you find out so I can post the info on this site. Thank you for watching!

      Are you or your significant other members of a cartel? If not It's safe. They tend to keep things between themselves and are not interested with the goings on of regular everyday people. After remote beach camping and surfing down here for over 40 years with never any problems I retired early and moved here last year from the LA/Ventura area. Don't give the police any reason to pull you over and don't believe all the hype you hear from the media. BTW It's illegal to turn right on a red light. Everyone is friendly and helpful. As in any city around the world and especially the tourist areas, don't flash your cash or jewelry, try not to dress over the top like you are a wealthy person and be wary of pickpockets. You won't have to spend much to have a good time and eat great food. When you get back home after visiting you'll wonder why you were so afraid and you'll probably start planning your next trip. Buena surte!

      The US is much more dangerous than MX. I lived in the Cabo area for a decade. No problems. One must be aware of your surroundings wherever you go in our world. Now moving to Ensañada.

    "Malecon" should be pronounced as ma-lay-cone. "Lay" is soft and the "C" is hard. No offense. Just keep hearing it pronounced really really wrong. Nice video.

    There's no place to walk or stroll. Those blocks he first describes have cracked, uneven, hole-laded sidewalks or missing sidewalks, the streets are also broken and uneven. You have to keep your eyes on your feet or you'll break an ankle. No parks. No green areas. No clean beaches. Smells like dead fish and sewage. I live there, btw.

    Ensenada is overtly homophobic and it hurts tourism. Morelia and Puerto Vallarta are gay welcoming and much more prosperous. Ensenada's homophobia costs it tourists and tax revenue sorely needed. Low tourism means nearly no tax money for roads and sewers. Never walked a city in Mexico with worse streets than Ensenada. Which also discourages tourism. Open sewers run into the beaches, so the water and sand are unsanitary. Sewage attitudes about diversity create sewage beaches and post apocalyptic streets.
