    I have the OCW 100 Titanium and the T200. Both outstanding watches and great value for the money. Changed the capacitor in the 100 after 10 years , easy job and the watch is as good as new.

    My wife bought this exact one for me for Christmas and I love it. I especially like the Bluetooth connectivity with my phone. I buy a watch for looks but if it does not keep good time then I like it less. This one should be good to a couple of seconds or less a year. After all, if your phone has the correct time then so does your watch. The blue shimmer is also beautiful. It is not overwhelming at all and you really have to look at it good to see it but it is there. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and behold, this is a beautiful watch to me. I love the precision of the second hand. I almost bought a Tissot PRX but the model I was looking at showed the second hand way off the mark as it swept. I bought mine on eBay for $349 delivered from Japan. That includes shipping and sales tax and there are NO import fees tariffs etc to the US. My wrist measures ~56mm across, looking straight down, and I had to have a jeweler remove 2 1/2 links and it is a perfect fit. As far as it not having the finest finish, I did not notice. I have two Rolex and at wrist length from my eyes they are comparably finished. You are going to have to look long and hard to find as pretty and as accurate a watch as this one at any price.

    Great review! I've now subscribed and look forward to more. I have the T200 in dark blue, and I absolutely love it. A true GADA watch. Easy to read, unpretentious but gorgeous under any light, ridiculously accurate, and trouble free. I like my other watches, but this one gets more wrist time than any of them. Like you, I also appreciate and use the app. It's so convenient without being intrusive. Wonderful!

      Yeah it is a decent piece, although I don't gush over it with quite as strong wording as yourself ...I did sell it with fond memories. I have no issues recommending it and most important is that you're happy with it 👍

      @@nextonthewrist “Decent piece?” We are definitely 180 degrees apart on this. I’m curious to know what watch that offers what the Oceanus does in terms of quality, refinement, accuracy, solar powered, etc. that surpasses it in your opinion. I’ve yet to find anything.

    • @nextonthewrist
      @nextonthewrist  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think 180 degrees apart is very silly, it's a very very positive review video and titled as perhaps the best everyday Casio watch. My review is detailed with video demonstrations clearly showing what I like and what I don't like, if those things don't bother you or you disagree that's cool... If we all felt the same we'd all have identical watch collections. So I'm not going to argue these points more as it ends up being a pointless back and forth. My biggest disappointment is that the polishing is especially poor under high intensity light and macro compared to any other watch in my box at a similar price, but they aren't solar quartz with bluetooth functionality so it's up to you - the viewer how important each feature and design element is, that's why with the information you should always make up your own mind. I'd like to try some of the Attesa range at some point and for a comparatively priced alternative, but it is my policy to only give feedback on watches I've handled, so that is for another day. Enjoy your evening 😉

    I wanted to just chime in and say that both Seiko and citizen advertise quartz watches as perpetual calendars when they have the features described in the video. Being courts doesn't mean it's not a perpetual calendar! I think cassio rightly calls the feature of perpetual calendar in both quartz and even in digital quartz models.
    So yes feel free to call it a perpetual calendar because it is. 😁

      So I didn't have any issues up to around -10'c for a decent period of time...although I never took it out for any prolonged period of time in the worst of winter here (-35'c) as it just feels bad for me and the watch 😆...accuracy likely suffers a bit as it isn't thermally compensated, but as I sync mine via Bluetooth I would not have seen that. @mybrainlikesthings 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Those raised indices look cheap too… I have similar on Casio Lineage except that mine are actually “floating” rather than propped up. Thanks for the video, this answered a lot of questions I had for this model.
    One thing I don’t like about the Bluetooth connectivity is that Casio makes you setup a Casio ID. Why? Why should anyone have to make a record of themselves, including their birth date, which they store somewhere in the world, waiting to get hacked, for a device that should just work out of the box, no questions asked. So it seems like a data scoop to me.
    I don’t think well of Casio. They’re an electronics company, not a watchmaker, and the things they produce that function as watches are microprocessors.

    • @nextonthewrist
      @nextonthewrist  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can't easily see the base of the indices at normal distances with regular eyes to be fair, so I think it's exaggerated on camera - the macro lens on a camera reveals the construction secret in full screen glory 😅 but I see your point 🙂👍
      It's a good question on the Casio app too, as much as I want Casio to have the best intentions for data usage, it's hard to trust any large corporation in 2024. If you get the atomic radio signals, this is the solution for sure to avoid the app.
      Thanks for stopping by and appreciate the comments 🍻

    The Japanese brands do have some unique JDM models, sometimes comes with some quirky features and generally not cheap for those with high specifications.
    I am a happy owner of a 20+ years old (?) Casio Overland model OVW-100TBJ. It’s analog with about 39mm diameter, titanium, solar powered with 2 bright LED lights at 12 and 6 o’clock positions that can be activated through a button or by tilting it towards you in dark area (like the normal Casio digital watch), perpetual calendar, 100m water resistance, date display, relative strong lume lasting for hours - rare for Casio watch. There magnifier on the date window but bubble is inside the mineral glass, no protruding bump on the glass. This should be the standard.
    The quirks: All the time settings - alarm, date/year are done via the two push buttons at positions 2 & 4 o’clock. It has wave ceptor to set the time/day/year but only can receive Japan radio signals.
    Cost? I paid only USD40. I am lucky.

    My complaint is that with the built in first link on the case, you cant get a different strap for it. Thats plain bad design.

      Yeah it definitely removes flexibility. 👍

    Do you get a free pug with the watch?

      Haha yes but you have to be careful with the servicing costs on that one 😆

    I would like to wear this watch if it weren't for that bracelet and clasp. Come on Casio. This isn't a cheap digital watch with a cheap jangly bracelet.

    It's boring and does nothing special and nothing about it is anything but boring it looks like a generic watch from maybe the 90's

      That is rather the point. It tells the time, never needs setting, and is always accurate. Sapphire glass and 100m water resistance ensures it will handle almost anything you can throw at it. So the perfect tool to tell you the time and date. Boring only because it is close to being absolutely perfect.
