Let's talk everything watches! You'll find on this channel in-depth watch reviews covering dive watches, field watches, dress watches, GMT watches, budget watches, Swiss watches... pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I also post occasional opinion pieces and open discussions on all things watches - I always welcome your opinions, even if we don't agree I think the best part of watch collecting is the community. So, enough waffle... what is next on the wrist?
A GREAT all-round EVERYDAY WATCH - Orion Sylph
Microbrand watches are everywhere and some are better than others ... this vintage inspired watch from Orion is definitely one of the better ones I've handled. The burgundy and yellow got me hooked but there's a lot to explore with this watch...

Are FARER watches as GOOD as everyone says? ⌚🤔 Chrono-Contempo reviewed!
มุมมอง 773หลายเดือนก่อน
I bought a Farer Universal Chronograph watch, from the Farer Chrono-Contempo range. This was not a watch purchase I took lightly, in-fact it's quite a lot of money to spend on a new watch brand and not a watch that I could try in advance. However the watch community INSISTS that Farer are a truly great brand... and we should all give them a go...was the community right, is the hype justified fo...
My microbrand watch company FAILED ... here's why & what I learnt.
มุมมอง 17Kหลายเดือนก่อน
For every Zelos or Erebus, I reckon there is a LOT more microbrand watch startups that don't make the cut. I had always dreamt of designing a watch and bringing it to market. I think most watch collectors and watch enthusiasts often daydream along these lines. I designed a travel inspired automatic watch that I was super happy with, but after the design phase it all went downhill - here's my st...
The COLORS on this watch are AMAZING 🔥 ... Squale Squalematic 60 Atmos Review
มุมมอง 1.6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Finally, this is the Squale I always wanted! It has been a long time coming, I have lusted after the chocolate Squale Squalematic 60 ATMOS for too long. I just cant stop looking at these stunning colours, but it needs to deliver as a package to match the expectation and hype I see of the brand elsewhere around the watch world. So let's take a deep dive into this chunky orange and brown Swiss di...

The MIDO Ocean Star Compression gmt dive watch ... you either love it or hate it. Well I bought it, so I guess you know where I stand on the looks… but there is a lot to explore on this watch from Mido. The review is a little longer to cover it all but I think it is worth it. I can’t think of a heritage built Swiss made automatic GMT that I like more at the moment, maybe it’s just because it is...
Unboxing the STUNNING Venezianico Nereide UAE Limited Edition

Today, it is just a quick unboxing but for me a special watch. This is the level of detail and design I wish more brands would go to when it comes to releasing special and limited editions of their watches. On a side note... I paid in full for this watch and have no affiliation or link with Venezianico, I genuinely am just that excited by opening the box and finding such a lovely dial! Original...
Almost a PERFECT vintage reissue ... Momentum SeaQuartz 30 review
มุมมอง 3.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
I had seen this Momentum SeaQuartz a lot, all over the internet in-fact ... and at the end of last year I picked one up as it does look rather lovely. I wanted to make my own mind up though - and to come at this without any Magnum PI tinted sunglasses on. I erased all of the reviews I had seen last year from my head, and took this on holiday with me, starting with a clean slate to see if the hy...
THIS watch is PRIMED for your next adventure - Whitby Admare review

Well, it's no secret I guess that I can't afford to buy watches every couple of weeks for TH-cam videos ... so I reached out to a brand that I have absolutely no experience of, that is based right here in Canada. They are Whitby Watch Co. and they kindly sent me this Ad Mare Pacific dive watch for review. I had opinion on the brand or watch before getting this review unit, but after a couple of...
Perhaps the BEST everyday Casio watch - Oceanus OCW-T200 review
มุมมอง 17K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
There's tougher watches in the G-shock range, there is also many cheaper watches from Casio - like the F91W and the Duro... but if you wanted a single watch to use every day that could be dressed up or down for all occasions, would be tough enough to withstand a few knocks and very reliable with a tonne of features without the digital display... well I think this Oceanus might be the one. The BEST affordable GMT watch with ORIGINAL design? ... Islander Calabro Automatic Review
I have this watch and agree - the orange bezel is so striking and beautiful. This is my summer chrono.
Your videos are very interesting and well filmed (love the close up shots), keep up the good work ! 👍
Love it! And the snow made it look even better btw 😂
Lesson I learned is that Sarx 057 is pound to pound the best watch ever!!
I feel sorry man. Design is pretty good though. Like other people in a comments, I'd say don't give up, it is an experience anyway. Btw, 6k sounds a lot, is it a normal pricing?
That’s a lovely design. I do think it’s priced a little high, but thems the times. I wholeheartedly agree with your call for quick release bracelets - the feature adds so much utility. And why anyone would not use quick release for any regular strap is quite beyond me these days :) P.S. how do you adjust the bracelet? Is it pins or screws?
Just got one for my travels. Love it
Congrats enjoy 😎✈️
Nice but that is a very very crowded part of the market. It's up against the 556 which is the gold standard as far as I am concerned..
Agreed it has some stiff competition in this price segment, but it does stand up if you have an eye for details. The Sinn is more than double the price brand new so I wouldn't say they're competing, but gold standard definitely for this style 🙌 cheers for the comments as always 😎🍻
These are brilliant watches and it is really annoying that, like the best Japanese models, they are JDM-only. I fail to see how this benefits the brands sales figures.
Exactly! I wish the Oceanus range was available locally, I'd love to actually get hands on with some of the more expensive models and try them before buying.
I bought one but returned it, the bezel was not aligned (I guess an accurate Seiko homage in that way). I had seen so many in videos that looked perfect, so was really disappointed I got one where it wasn't aligned. I've bought nearly a dozen Chinese watches off Aliexpress and never had an alignment issue with any of them, so ultimately didn't re-order after I sent it back. Shame though, it seemed decently made. Every time I see these videos I kind of wonder again, but I don't want to buy and return to get one with proper alignment. Maybe bad luck, but at least that was my experience.
Yeah I mean in all honesty with you, having handled hundreds of watches now - it's a problem with mass production of watches all over...Just some have better hit rates than others. My Squalematic is over $1k and that has a misaligned bezel from the Swiss factory and I've had many more especially sub $1k. Seiko are dismal though it seems to be a 50/50 at best... I haven't had any yet from Islander misaligned of the 5 or so I've bought, but I think every batch has a few it's just the speed they are assembled in the factory to achieve the selling price. Brands that are owner assembled or obviously once you get to the proper high end seem to be the only ones immune 😆 glad you got your money back though and an easy return if you weren't happy 🙂👍
Thanks, I have one on order ... i hope to like it
I'm sure you'll really enjoy it 🙂 it's hard to pick fault at the price 🙌
3:21 I spin the bezel a few times under freshwater in a sink after a saltwater dive to break up any salt that may have crystallized during the initial drying out process. Without doing so, bezels have a tendency to feel rougher/harder to turn.
Yes definitely great advice 👌 - I do the same although didn't put it on camera, but I should have 🙂
@@nextonthewristOh, I forgot to compliment you! Great review, by the way! I’ve been rocking my Momentum Sea Quartz 30 Eclipse Stainless ever since it landed in my mailbox last week. I’m really enamored with this watch! I guess I was lucky with my second sweep hand: it hits every second marker on the nose (or as close to it as my aging eyes can tell).
@@kevinong1735 great to hear you're really enjoying yours and thank you for the very kind words. For the seconds hand, I am pretty happy with mine, as it's a low torque quartz movement the seconds hand does have some play (turn it upside down, crown facing the floor, then 180 again and the seconds hand will shift slightly) but this is totally normal at the price point and its marginal. Sometimes I feel as watch reviewers we look at things closer than most normal humans would bother haha! There's not too many budget brands using high torque movements....I think Casio and Marathon are perhaps the two that come to mind. It's a minor point I guess to be aware of, but for me it's no deal breaker...like you I love mine and it gets plenty of wrist time. A great watch for sure 🙂
It’s a handsome watch. The “rally track reminds me a lot of the Islander ISL-135.
Ah yeah, I forgot Islander released that - I have seen the rally track on quite a few vintage watches but not sure where it originated from. Speedmaster racing maybe? 🤔
Too add a small update - I have since received the official integrated rubber strap and it's a total game changer. Way more comfortable, suits the watch perfectly and elevates the whole package to kind of where I wanted it to start with. I have a channel update video that's shows this off posted just after this one - if you're curious... 🙂👍
Orion is doing an amazing job! This is a very nice-looking watch. I love the pop of yellow. Great review as always my friend!
Thanks mate 😎🍻
For the amount of work and things replaced, $700 is pretty good. The movement is a hybrid mechanical-quartz, so its service cost should be in between the two. When buying at the lower tier of used watch prices one is always rolling the dice that the watch is due a major overhaul
1. The modern Air King is butt ugly 2. I never understood the "making memories with a watch" thing. To me good memories and anything I happen to be wearing are largely separate. Same way I don't commemorate the socks and underwear I happen to wear on the day of the promotion
It's each to their own isn't it? I have some great memories tied with watches of holidays or events that make me smile same as I do with music and songs that bring back lovely memories - and I am grateful for these. I love association, but obviously you can't force it otherwise I'd still have the AK 😆
That is from a design point a beautiful watch! The one with the metal bracelet keeps grabbing my attention. Kudos for trying and love your vision in designing a watch!
Nice review! In short: a beautiful watch, get a new bracelet/strap and, if you can, find the watch at a discount. Cheers.
Why would anyone buy seiko crap? Knowing they cant even align a dial. Wait a few years and get a fugu for 200$
I personally prefer the Seikos offerings, I think the finish is better on each element, and I think I prefer their design... but as mentioned if you don't want to play the QC lottery definitely look no further than the Citizen 👍
Proxima is a way better name than Parnspre or Berny 😂
There's some shockers out there on AliX 😆
They look childish
It's a pleasure for me to embrace my inner child, love the bright colors in a world of predictable black blue and white on steel 😆
what does this watch homage to exactly?
Bell & Ross BR05

Great video. I have my Formula 1 Calibre 5 for 12 years now. It works perfectly and in great condition
I have aeen it black ceramic gmt before few hours. Impressuve i like it. But the clasp the only thing needs upgrade, so to become the same class to rest of the watch. Price tag 1700€ in Athens.
I just bought the 1521 with the blue dial. I absolutely love the orange minute hand! Its a great watch and they are coming out with a 1521 bracelet.
Congrats nice pick up... yeah I saw long island are selling these now - nice to have the option although I don't think I can take mine off the shark mesh 😆
Just picked this up for $1050 new. It’s a class watch.
🙌🙌🙌
I'm guessing the blurred watch is an Orion. The only watch I can think of with that unique minute track around the outside of the dial.
For you sir - 🏆🏆🏆🏆 😁
Where can I find a rubber strap for this watch?
Without googling it I honestly couldn't tell you, I always kept mine on the bracelet.
29.5 for the moonphase.
Good to know 👍
are the bulova and the farer might be on the giveaway? bulova farer agelocer marathon pagani i love the longiness but thats alot of money and i keep thinking i can get some other watches (good and quite a few) for that price.
Haha it's good to ask 😆 but I'm quite far away from giving away 4 figure watches...hopefully one day the channel will be in that position though 🤞😎....agelocer it is! For the longines sometimes you'll get good offers pop up, I got mine for just under $1k USD, 1.5 years old... for that price it's a relatively safe bet and if you don't like it and shift it on again you'll not lose much if anything 🙂
@@nextonthewrist it will happen in the future, just keep up the good work.. :) Ive only bought one 2nd hand watch. A 2nd gen monster from a private collector that even didn't remove its stickers. Ive never sold a watch. I have gifted some but if i buy it its in the collection forever. Im more comfortable with cheaper (in price) watches like Certina.
Thank you bud....That's fair enough I respect that - I know quite a few collectors who never sell their pieces... and you all have nothing but admiration from my world of constant buying and selling chaos! 😎🍻
@@nextonthewrist thank you! Im actually thinking of getting a citizen diver atm. Not sure if i would go for a cheaper 200-500 or the ultimate nb600483e. On the other hand, i dint have a sumo yet and seiko is gonna ruin the samurai with the new release so its an opportunity to add another samurai.. Exhausting... Lol
Hmmmm I have to say for me that NB6004-83E looks to be a serious bit of kit and one I've been watching now and then, it's a beast in the best way I reckon! If you end up getting one do let me know how it is 🙌
I actually like skeleton watches myself, I know most people don’t care for them. It’s a great way to show kids how a watch works. Your Farer is very nice watch in the bunch, with blue strap.
Great to hear, you and me both! I think I'm still a kid at heart as I love just watching mechanical things in action 😅
I wouldn’t mind having any of those pieces in my collection. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your future content.
Cheers bud appreciated as always 😎🙌
The Farer looks amazing! As for the giveaway, both look great, but I think Agelocer os more interesting to have.
Thanks... I'm so made up with it now on the rubber 😄.... Great - I think I'll stick with the agelocer for giveaway as definitely far more interesting 👍
Well done buddy. Take your time and do things at your own pace. Putting pressure on yourself will not serve you well.
Thanks mate - I'll try keep it steady and manage my own expectations for what I can do. Appreciate your comments as always and hope you're keeping well across the pond 🙂🙌
That strap fits the Farer really well. I like the Agelocer, it is definitely something different.
Noted 😎👍
Wow that farer is amazing with the new strap. And that aceloger is such a nice looking skeleton, idk why people on skeletons so much
Cheers for the comments 🍻... It's very interesting to look at - I'll talk a lot about the movement when I make the video as it's certainly also got some interesting points, it looks to be a modified Hangzou which I've always found to be great movements. Definitely seems to be the best giveaway watch too!
The Farer is the pick of the bunch, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Bulova watches since the 70’s!
I can see why - Bulova have such an amazing back catalogue...but both brands definite hitting those vintage inspired elements with a modern twist. Thanks for the comments 🙂👍
The Farer looks really good on the new strap 👌🏻 good work 👍
The Farer is a completely different watch on that strap! I love it now 🔥🔥I didn’t love it on the leather. Amazing what a strap can do! Also very interested to hear your thoughts on that Strapsco sailcloth. It looks like an Artem strap and as someone who likes the way Artem straps look, but refuse to pay their ridiculous price , consider me interested. Always look forward to your content and good luck on the new house 👍
It's a hugeeeee transformation haha 100% agree 😅... Yeah I think the sailcloth debate is a good one, Artem make something incredible as a product but same as with watches I think decent options at every price point are important... so far I'm pretty happy with the StrapsCo option but will cover properly of course 👍 as always am much appreciating your comments and continued support of the channel 😎🍻
Thank you for your review which I think is the best on the blue dial found on utube so far. What do you think about the orange/red dial? Will that dial has a better legibility?
Honestly not sure as I haven't seen one in person, I think the orange is a recent release 🙂
Sorry but Tags absolutely sucks. I actually bought two and only one of them is still working. 😤🤮
If it's under warranty send it back. There's not much to break on this auto ...it's based off an ETA movement and easily repairable and serviceale. Any watch can break - but I don't hear many issues with Tag around collection circles, certainly no more than other brands.
who needs a spring drive now? c'mon Seiko! im getting this exact watch next
Great video of the great value propositions and unique stying of LI Watch Co. I've become a fan.
China quality. What did you expect? Nice design tho
Hmmmm not sure I agree. There's some wicked factories in China that can definitely match the Swiss for fit and finish sub 1k - San Martin, Cronos have gotta be proof of this. 🙂👍
Excellent Review! Yes it's the colours that are the standout point with Farer. So much so that I bought a Farer Bernina with White, Red and Blue. The attention to detail is phenomenal. White white dial has cream subdials and the overall look is captivating. Really do wish it was at least 42mm though so that my aging eyes could appreciate it more!
Nice 👌... the red and white contrast is another home run from Farer on the Bernina... and I bet it's a pleasure to wear being titanium 👍
Best lumen great grest loock bat for yhis price casebak saphire rnd COSE more acuracy 15 +_25 second is much my nh35 have this acuracy
So far this 6R has been running well. Like with any movement you can regulate it and I still think the 6R lags behind Swiss counterparts by a distance, but it doesn't have as much positional variance than an NH so when they do work it is an upgrade. But I see your point, the NH series are unbeatable for the cost 🙌
Marc is absolutely incredible! You’d be hard pressed to get better customer service anywhere else. I had an issue once, that wasn’t even his fault, and he took care of it incredibly fast. Before I even knew what was happening. He made me a customer for life. They are beautiful watches and incredible value for the money.
Yep, the customer service especially stands out for me having dealt with quite a few brands now 🙂
Really interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
