Top Ten Weirdest Yu-Gi-Oh Equip Spells (Vol. 2)

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 27 พ.ย. 2024
- It's fun to equip things to monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh, so we're doing it again! We'll be looking at some of the strangest equip spells that hit the game, whether it was due to their effect, appearance, or simply because we didn't understand how the item could be equipped to a monster. ANd all the cohosts are back: Corgian, Sam from Dungeon Dive Bar, Professor Oats, SyzygySolo, and Judgment Meter
Corgian: / corgian
Sam (Dungeon Dive Bar): / bardungeon
Professor Oats: / professoroats
SyzygySolo: / syzygysolo
Judgment Meter: / judgmentmeter

Phase Three by Huma-Huma
Heart of Clear Water: I think that what is happening in the art is that your monster gets turned into water, kinda like the card Mist Body, and when it gets attacked it explodes, since you still take battle damage, but then its body gets reconstructed with the water drops, kinda like a Revival Jam, and the face in the water drop represents the spirit of the monster, or something.
Falling Down: Since it only works with an Archfiend on your field, I think that what is happening there is that you infect your opponent monster with like darkness or something and it transforms into an Archfiend, turning "evil" against its master. Just like what happened to Dai Grepher in one of his many lores.
Germ Infection's non-machine targeting flavor is even weirder when you think out it. Robots can't get sick, but apparently the embodiment of various elements like Thunders, Pyros, and FREAKING ROCKS CAN (I excluded Aqua because that's the amphibian type). Then we have Zombies, which are ALREADY DEAD. And the less said about Ra and Slifer, ACTUAL GODS, the better.
I equipped it to a zombie in one of my duels and I was thinking the same thing. It's also funny that Plants have the equip spell "Vile Germs," but I guess those germs are good and these germs are bad since they're, uh, not nice looking?
Hi, Mathmech player here:
So yeah, Billionblade reads like garbage on its own, and it is not involved in the main Mathmech gameplan.
BUT there's more to it. Three monsters Billionblade can send have pertinent effects as to why you would do so:
Multiplication: Doubles the attack of a Cyberse in the EMZ
Division: Halves an opponent's monster's attack, (just worse than Multiplication in most situations)
Nabla: Gives a Cyberse in the EMZ 2 attacks on monsters.
This is meant to go with Geomathmech Final Sigma, which is a towers in the EMZ, and does double battle damage.
Again, this is not a build Mathmech really used, as other options were better, but it is an entirely functional otk package. (It would be nice if it gave piercing, but whatever.)
It just so happens Cyberse has Accesscode, new Firewall Terahertz, and even Rasterliger, with Update Jammer, so it IS suboptimal, though not in relation to generic equips.
In various Master Duel Festivals where those better options aren't available, it works out just fine.
Thanks for the insight! I always felt the card came up short soley due to its effects being baked into more modern Cyberse effects, but it was hard to visualize when it could actually be useful since Cyberse has come pretty far in the past few years. Since it made it on the list more for the name and design, I didn't do as much digging into its effect applications compared to other entries, so good to see players can still cook with it in limited formats or special gimmicks!
One day, we'll see a countdown of the Top 10 Yu-Gi-Oh Monsters with the Weirdest Types. One day...
It would be all DARK Warriors
@@cyberdarkturtle6971dark plant ? Or zombies light?
@@cyberdarkturtle6971 What about monsters like Skull Knight, Hungry Burger, Winged Dragon Guardian of the Fortress #2, and the trio of Oppressed People, People Running About, and United Resistance?
Thank u so much for mentioning Ameba & Griggle w/ creature swap ❤️. I remember pulling off this combo several times back then
21:44 -In ceramics it is very important to spray and wrap your projects between working on them to prevent them from drying out. And yes. You use platic sheets or serane wrap. Lol keeping the clay in the proper balance of moisturize to work on for the stage you are in is key. Despite his high defence, dried clay before firing is actually very brittle. It crumbles very easily into dust when struck. Leather hard is the point between really wet and dry clay where you can't really shape it must but cab carve and attach pieces more easily. Wet clay is obviously the point where you can shape and work with it most malably. By spraying and covering clay intervals yoy can also revive clay back to more wet stages. Even bone dry can become wet again if given enough treatments but it's hard without sustaining structural damage. Usually you just put it in the slop bucket at that point, let it become raw oversaturated clay and dry it on a plaster wedging surface to start from scratch. I'm guessing with cayman he is at a leather hard stage since he had that high defence but would be heavy and clumsy to move..thus low attack. By covering him, they are reverting more to the wet stage which would allow things to sink into him and get stuck easily. Thus if he gets sent to the graveyard, your opponent is losing a spell or trap that got imbedded in his wet body during whatever interaction sent him there. It feels like it may be too much of a deep cut to actual ceramicswork but yugioh will sometimes strongly do that.
Double Tool C&D just means Cutter and Drill, not that there's supposed to be an A and a B. Yu-Gi-Oh! has always been weird about randomly abbreviating things.
24:50-24:52 it loses the atk only during it's own standby phase, so only during the standby phase of the oerson controlling the monster.
Yugioh language is super delicate since when I listened back to that, I was like "oh, wow, one word changes the whole meaning." I'm glad I clarified a bit later in the segment, but yeah, it exemplifies how bad Germ Infection is that you have 2 wait a full 2 turns for any results.
I love equipping my "Different Dimension Dragon" with "Heart of Clear Water". Their two effects combined make my dragon almost indestructible, and have me some victories on Master Duel.
(Also, Kayest is beautiful. Good choice of Guardian.)
Thank you for being my video of choice for my meal today
Now that's a real honor!
21:18 That was the most adorable Judgement Meter laugh so far, I love it
Top 10 dark counterpart cards -
Twilightsworn, Dark Elf, Darklord Zerato, etc.
I happen to like Kahyoreigetsu and Falling Down. As for the latter, it is a play on the moral fall of a being, which is why they become an Archfiend.
So I think Falling Down is suppose to be in reference to losing oneself, because that spell is suppose to be the point between when warrior diagrapher becomes Dark Lucius.
So the spell is suppose to be you're equipping a monster with the concept of losing touch with itself.
It's kinda sad that we give a monster an identity crisis with that card, but I do like the Dai Grapher adventures, so it's part of a cool side of Yugioh storytelling. If we ever cover Dark Counterparts or something like that, I'll give Falling Down a more serious look since I'm sure one of the various Dark Grepher forms would be on that list.
Heart of Clear Water has such a ridiculous juxtaposition with its art, you’d think it would get something like the TCG art for Soul of the Pure
I always thought Heart of Clear Water was a reference to the Red Orbs of Devil May Cry. The first time you pick it up, they send you a close up and info on that item. Similar looks for sure
I equip Heart of Clear Water to Pumpkin Carriage. Makes Golden Castle of Stromberg almost indestructible.
I appreciate the use of the classic pokemon art
Thank you. I feel a lot of the older Pokémon art gets forgotten since people tend to use the default modern art when making a quick reference, which makes sense, but the older art is more nostalgic to me. Plus, OG Magikarp art looks a lot weaker which helped my point about it being a partial joke.
Since Falling Down is Archfiend support, I've always interpreted it as "falling into darkness," as the spell takes the creature and gives it the life loss trait that the chessboard Archfiends possessed. The image shows a being in pain as he is warped by evil.
Kahyoreigetsu is really underrated, I use it in my lunalight deck- a free special summon, bounce any opponents dragons, and a free fusion card at end phase
I love the intro when everything is fine but not really fine
Rod of Silence Kay'est is the only reason Elemental Hero Wildheart is used in Visas decks (Visas deck require warriors with a 1500/2100 statline)
6:09 I thought this bamboo sword was a support for the not well known spell card "Eternal rest: destroy all monsters with equip spell cards" :D
I think with living fossil, the life itself is being equipped. It's a spell that has to linger to work. The casting is just the first part but it is tied to the monster afterward and can be removed seperatly from destroying the monster as well. Basically the entantment or charm (ont he spell definition sence not trinket sense) is equipping.
29:37 I always thought the implication was “double tool A & B” were the original tools on the artwork of power tool dragon, you know, one arm being a shovel and the other arm being a screwdriver. Hypothetically, speaking, “Double Tool E&F” could be a jackhammer and nail gun
I believe that "Golden Rule" is also able to equip from the hand
I use Heart of Clear Water on Attribute Boosters (Witch's Apprentice, Star Boy, etc.)
2:50 -Pretty fair honestly. The best removal was tributing or fusion so you got out a better monster and it did not return to the hand. Kn the flipsode, trubutes and even more so fusions, were very uncommon. You had a few in your deck but to draw aNd make them happen in 2 turns was not as likely. Espeiclaly used on a tribute or fision moster tended to spell disaster for the opponent who just used all those rescources. The good news for them is they still had a potentially big monster to protect them for another couple turns but the bad news..Soul exchange. If you juwsht destoryed your opponents mosnter it is gone. If you used Ekibo Drakmord on it, you could summon a monster yourself and let it stand there usless for a turn. Then you could acticate soul exchange to tribute it and your monster for something like a Blue Eyes White Dragon. You don't get the equip back but who cares! The look on your opponent when you turn the duel around by paralizing their Blue eyes for a turn so you can get out your own lower level monster and tribute both for YOUR big destructive dragon.
Should do a top 10 shield list since you already did giant swords and other weapons. They deserve some love.
Anime shields in general sounds like a super fun and underrated idea! I'll see if it's something we could find some good entries for!
I always thought the monster on Vengeful Servant was Command Knight, but maybe I'm wrong
You are correct! I figured that out when the video was uploading since I was looking at monsters to put on the thumbnail. One of the options was Command Knight and I immediately noticed the feathers.
Heart of Clear Water = The Clearwater Mist from DBZ.
In the latin american spanish dub of DBZ (which is globally known to be much more well translated than most dubs) its called "agua ultra sagrada". The literal translation would be "ultra sacred water"
Don't know what i find funnier, JM's commentary or DDB fixing every mistake
Both!
Top ten underrated duels in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime please
25:24 Nothing arbitrary about it. Machines don't have living cells or tissues so would not be affected by biological pathogens like germs, bacteria, and viruses.
30:04 lunar light windy and harmonious
The thing with Double Tool is that the original Japanese name was "Double Toll D&C" with the "D" standing for Drill, and the "C" standing for Circular Saw.
1:09 That’s our Judgement Meter!
I used "Heart of Clear Water" in my Stall/Mill deck. ❤
I'd love to equip the JudgmentMeter equip spell *.*
"How come i dont get a bamboo sword?"
~Obelisk (probably)
Considering how small is the Lone Wolf Deck so to speak, would it be cool if they remade it for Rush Duel considering how small archetypes like Summoned Skull and Magnet Warriors are finally getting the love they deserve.
I always found it odd how they redrew Chu-Ske's art for Rush Duels. Makes it feel like they were going to do something special with his group.
16:25 -I always thought this was a reflection of a drowning person in the drop. Like the clearwater is falling and pooling around this thing suddenly so it's drowning and making this terrified face that is reflected in the drops itself. No idea what that has to do with not being destroyed by battle..if you drown first no one can stab you to death?
RIGHTEOUS! MORE YU-GI-OH CONTENT! NICE!!!
The Legendary Black Belt also works with the one of one card in that card's text
Would "Two Pronged Attack" be good in Fire Kings?
Top 10 penalty game in Yu-Gi-Oh
*HER Hat, that's Command Knight, a female Warrior-type Fire Monster on Vengeful Servant's card.
That was a late notice by me. When I was looking for monsters for the thumbnail, I looked at warriors since they fit the equip aesthetic and I immediately noticed the feathers when looking at a render of Command Knight. The video was uploading at that point, so there was no going back, but she was one of my favorite cards from the DM era, so I would've loved to give her a mention.
@@MrTopTenList fair. I only noticed it was Command Knight one the card because she's a favourite of mine as well, though can't top Hiita the Fire Charmer for me overall.
@@WolfFenrirHelix In terms of absolute favorite of the classic monsters based on design, it'd probably be Mystical and Dark Elf. In terms of design plus effect, maybe Command Knight since I was a Warrior toolbox kid in 2004.
@@MrTopTenList certainly fair. I was a big "Machines > Everything else" for ages, especially in the GX Era, but I'm more on the "Spellcasters and waifu-y Fiends" side these days, with a leaning towards redheads thanks to Hiita and the more recent Witchcrafter Schimetta. Still have a bit of a soft spot for some of the old classics, like Magician of Faith and Mystical Elf, or Kanan the Swordmistress, as well.
Bro let his intrusive thoughts win in that last honorable mention
I thought he would say let's equip the top ten cards
Top 10 corrupted versions in Yu-Gi-Oh cards -
Ryko, Twilightsworn Fighter (Dark World Brainwashing), Deathscythe (Eatos), Fortune Lady (Fortune Fairy), Evil Heroes, Shaddoll, etc.
I would of expected you guys to mention the better versions of the heart of clear water i.e. mist body & mage power, since they're generic & mage power has better protection.
This was very interesting, I wonder if there can be a Vol. 3?
Anyway, i wonder what other Yu-Gi-Oh Countdowns has yet to be made yet?
Early YuGiOh was so wild with naming conventions. Like, go figure, I couldn't speak Japanese as a child so Ekibyo just broke my brain lol
It was one of those cards that I heard pronounced properly, so I naturally picked up on saying it. Not sure how, but it has stuck with me since.
@@MrTopTenList Once someone explains that Japanese only really has 5 vowel sounds and they always sound the same way it's way less confusing. Your pronunciation has always been pretty much on point! ✌️

Judgement Meter is the #1 co-host
Top 10 archetypes based on other properties
well JM said it, now you have to make a top ten YGO swords video
preferably limited to one per archetype
I feel it would be the spiritual successor to this topic since there are at least 10 sword equip spells and we barely mentioned any swords on the 2 equip lists. Then when we get into monsters already holding swords, that a whole different topic, so we could get 2 videos out of the idea!
When the fuck did I ever know Exodia FTK stuff, who was I before the estrogen
Gorgeous gorgeous girls don't learn exodia
OLD CORGIAN. BUBBLE BLASTER IS A GUN. IT IS NOT A MISSILE. LEARN.
Germ Infection and Paralyzing Potion were always weird to me that they excluded machine monsters. Aside from the idea that machines have no functions that can make them get sick or afflicted with toxins, how does that work on Fire & Rock monsters? Unless that potion is magic, how do you paralyze fire?
Is it just me or looks falling down a bit like Doomsday from dc comics. Plus in the comic it's also used like an injected virus to turn into it, which would explain the equip card
I demand back the brain cells i lost to that argument about whats in AGGs head
You can summon Elma with "A Wild Monster Appears"
Ekibyo drakmord used to me one of my favorite cars to use. Mostly cause I played it wrong. I don't remember what I did wrong cause it was a long time ago. But regardless it was a staple of my deck. Until my friend told me I was using it wrong.
Vengeful servant. The title makes me think that is it should be used by the opponent to double or less damage to you.
Great video but I wanted to ask, are you ever gonna continue your series talking about extra deck monsters like when are we getting the Top 10 weirdest Pendulum and Link monsters?
We really should complete the collection of weird extra deck monsters. I'll talk to Sam about it since he plays Abyss Actors and all the Pendulum decks. Link monsters, though, I'm ready to talk about them!
30:49 -I thought that was supposed to be falling down in a metaphorical sence. That is Dark Lucious who is part of the corruption line for Warrior Dai Grepher. The fact he is being mind controlled by a player with an archfield but the player also takes damage as a cost infers it is an unwilling forcefull shive down the path of evil by demons. Warrior Dai grepher is litterally falling down the wrong path. If yoy look at other cards depicting this story you will see metaphroical paths and movement shown a lot as ACTUAL physical ones. He has diverting destinys where there is a fork in the road with badlands and nice place. He is sent through different dimentions where he reflects on his choices by litterally passing his other self going through the same nexus. Its a bit of a comical thing with him. This version of dark lucious is also the same as shown in Sakeretsu Armor. That shows him recklessly stepping through two armed warriors who bouce off to the sides. It is a card that destorys an opponent's monster that declares battle on yours before damage. I get yhe feeling this courl come right after where he is spared a fate at the hands of superiorly armed and numbered assialents by his heavy spiked armor but then stumbles to his knees as a result. Its ironically fitting too because Sakeretsu Armor is a normal trap. The evil ARMOR is a trap that stops an attackijg monster and destorys it. The act of falling down is an equip spell that takes control of the monster using it. See how those might make more sense in reverse?
15:54 Ah, the german localisation is better. Translated: "By the power of my position as Sauce Devil i order this one sauce drop to be extra hellish and spicy!"
I love when kids' shows in other countries get to add a bit of light swearing that generally wouldn't fly in the US lol
29:57 and then there's D.D.R
It doesn't say target on the card, so it doesn't target a monster your hand, so you read it sometimes 29:57

The Kahyoreigetsu card makes me suffer because along it's múltiple referentes to the bracelet girls from arc-v it also included the fusión parasite stuff which dislike a Lot, and it's one of the many things that changed My feeling for Arc-v from liking it to disliking it later on

15:00 - It's Command Knight
It's funny that I figured that out when the video was uploading. I was looking at monsters to put on the thumbnail, one of the options was Command Knight and I immediately noticed the feathers.

Now I do agree Broken Bamboo Sword is weird, but if I didn't, I'd have to sit through it just to get to a part of the video I care about.
