    Best idea for Castle of Dark Illusions for maximum annoyance: your opponent has to roll a die with the numbers on the die corresponding to the monster zones on your field 1-5 with 6 being the special zones in the middle. If they want to attack they roll the die after declaring which monster is attacking and that monster HAS to attack into that slot. If there is no monster in that zone, its a miss. If there is a monster in that zone that's too big, sucks to be them lol. Then you could make a card that lets you switch the zones for the monsters so that rolling a 4 wouldnt always be the same result, like the monsters are moving around in the darkness. They could also remake the Metal Guardian as a spell/trap card that protects the Castle of Dark Illusions field spell, making it so they have to remove it first before getting rid of the Castle

    I have always said Silver Fang needs a retrain. He was one of Yugis more used cards so why not show him some love?

    Frog the Jam can be a new meta threat called "Jam the Frog" he's got a guitar now and when you summon him, your opponent banishes their entire extra deck. Konami can start him at three copies and we'll see how it plays out.

    For ‘Frog the Jam’ it could be renamed ‘Jammer Frog’ and have the ability to negate effects that target frogs by banishing frogs from the graveyard, he could also have some buffed stats

    I love the Masked Beat Des Gardius idea, I would love if we got a Fusion Masked Beast (Just like we got a ritual one) which looks silly like Grand Tiki Elder and Melchid, using some new Mask Fusion spell that searched a Masked Beast from your deck, and then by tributing a the Fusion monster you can bring out Des Gardius from your deck

      Mask or just Masked Beasts would be a Great Archetype to revisit and Remake, cause a lot of the Mask Cards would be great to abuse for since you can attack your opponent with pure Control Strategies while boosting field Advantage.

      WOAH if youre going for fusion or ritual. have the masks equipe to opponent monsters or yours then use those as fusion or ritual materials.
      like a super poly. but only use monsters that are equipe to masks.

    Dark Scorpion Hideout Field Spell: 1 Dark scorpion monsters with 1200 or lower original attack can attack directly per turn. Your opponent cannot activate trap cards in responce to a dark scorpion attacking and during damage calculation, raise the attack of dark scorpion cards by 300 for every dark scorpion on the field. After a dark scorpion effect resolves, you can bring one dark scorpion card from your grave to your hand, once per turn.

      How about. When this card is activated add 1 dark scorpion or don zaloog card from your deck to your hand. Once per turn You can special summon 1 dark scorpion or 1 don zaloog from your hand. Each dark scorpion card you control can attack your opponent directly. Each dark scorpion or DZ card you control gains 1000 attack if you control another dark scorpion or DZ. You can target 1 set card your opponent controls for each dark scorpion or DZ you control. That card cannot be activated. This card is a hard once per turn.

      How about.
      When you have a dark scorpion card on the field, neither player can activate monster effects or special summon, unless its a dark scorpion card.
      You gotta basically remake Mystic Mine if you want a deck that old to be competitive nowadays.

    Pumpking technically already has a retrain, in Pumprincess, The Princess of Ghosts. After being destroyed. She becomes a continuous spell, that debuffs opponent monsters. Also fun fact: King of Yamibakai is a Supreme King monster.

      pumprincess isn't really a retrain. it's a weaker counterpart.
      also yamimakai is absolutely a supreme king monster, not that it benefits from any of the support

    My favorite normal monster is Luster Dragon, so i would like to see more normal monster support cards using this card as retrain, maybe even a small archetype based on Luster Dragons.

    Thoughts I have:
    10) Well, for Mask of Restrict, since the current one locks you out of summoning either masked beast, make it so it only locks your opponent out of tributing monsters... and maybe give it a protection effect for your spells and traps if you control a "Masked Beast" monster.
    9) I was thinking of some way to turn Bokoichi into a spell/trap (as you just need it on the field for Dekoichi, not I the monster zone) and give it extra effects while there so it's not just sitting there uselessly when you don't have Dekoichi.
    8) "minion of the Dark forces" get's me thinking a retrain of him should be Dark/fiend support..... When he comes out, you can search a high level Dark Fiend-type from the deck maybe?
    7) Since both Malice and the original Doll of Demise were only used by people that used Ectoplasmer with them (and Bakura... who also had Ectoplasmer), I would want to lean into the Ectoplasmer combo deal, search it on summon, and revive if tributed for it sounds good to me.
    6) the original had it's name officially changed back to Slimetoad.... so the retrain could just be called "Frog the Jam" for full meme-ability (and confusion to people using older cards).
    5) I was wanting support for the remaining attribute-based support groups..... Maybe the retrains can search the attribute equips, or the attribute fields or something... while having additional effects to make them more worthwhile.
    4) Support for older unions! Support the Unions that specify the names of the monsters they equip to! Give them some love that won't make ABC even more busted.
    3) Well, they're burglars... they're suppose to steal stuff.... make the steal your opponent's cards for you to use?
    2) Yeah, I still don't get why they did Pumpking like that.... maybe make the retrain more like his (I assume) daughter, the Pumprincess, and go to the spell and trap zone to boost the zombies.
    1) Yeah, they REALLY messed up that card.... I like the flip-monsters face-down deal to emulate the darkness, since other cards (like "The Darkness approaches") use a similar theme.

    I think I have an idea- make the Dark Scorpions just have a direct attack ability at half attack, and when they deal damage, either use their unique effect or banish the top card from their deck. Also, when they attack, the opponent cannot activate effects until after Damage Step. Also give them all exactly 500 more ATK. (you know, cause there are 5 of them)
    Don: Look at opponent's hand, and Banish a card.
    Thorn: her search is fine. Just leave it.
    Cliff: Destroy a backrow. (that card cannot activate in response to this)
    Chick: Bounce any card to the hand, not just a monster.
    Gorg: Shuffle a monster into the Deck. (Also, let him Special Summon himself if you already have 2 or more Scorpions)
    I think this would make them decent enough to not break like glass in the presence of more modern decks.

    - Saggi the Dark Clown. Surprised it didn't happen in DSD
    - Toon Alligator, Dark Rabbit, Parrot Dragon and Bickuribox should all get retrains to fit into the Too archetype
    - Bones and Panik's cards. Majority of other classics characters have gotten their carda upgraded so it's about time these 2 got some

    I LOVE the Parodius games, so a Parodius themed Archetype would be awesome, with crazy effects simulating the chaos and randomness of the games. Also, I can see a Spirit type monster or Gladiator Beast like effects on the Dark Scorpions, as in they enter the field, sabotage the opponent and then flee or tag team with others.

    For the Castle of Dark Illusions "shrouded in darkness" effect, it could force the opponent to flip a coin before each attack in order for the attack to hit.

    My pitch for dark scorpion retains: they all have an on normal summon effect, and an effect where you can reveal a dark scorpion in hand to bounce themselves back and gain an additional normal summon. So like Melae still searches, maybe Cliff provides protection for the turn, that sort of thing. Don Zaloog doesn't have the bounce effect but still summons them all back to the field and provides some other effect. Give them a continuous trap that lets them normal summon on the opponent's turn as a chain as many times as you could on your own to push advantage and disrupt.

    I like the idea of just turning Castle into its anime version. Make it a link or something like that, and when it’s summoned in it can only go to the extra monster zone, after each battle phase, flip all monsters on your card face down, and shuffle them. Then you have the same “shrouded in darkness” effect, and then when it’s destroyed, destroy all cards on your side of the field and take damage equal to half the total attack of all those cards. And give it some level of protection from card effects and battle to make it difficult to destroy. Like flipping a coin when it’s targeted. Something that isn’t super busted for either side.

    Apparently there was an ocg exclusive card from 1999 named Wolf, just..Wolf
    and it had its flavor text translated and all, however the first english printing of it was in a joey booster pack, so they went and made it look like Joey made the card, like the aligator sword flavor text! and because of that, EVERY SINGLE translation of that card came from the joey english one!

    #10. Fix it by fixing the monsters used to summon it. Give one of them battle protection and give it a proxy effect that will allow you to use it for the summon. Give the other a double summon effect and a proxy effect with a limiting effect not allowing you another summon that turn to keep it balanced. Then give it the effect of the card it activates upon destruction, but without being an equip card.
    #9. Dual Dark/Earth attribute, it’s original effect, and small Machine stat boost.
    #8. Steals the effect of an opponent’s spell in the graveyard for one turn.
    #7. Eliminate the continuous spell part and just make it any opponent spell that destroys it and give it 100 more attack multiplied by the number of times it was brought back by this effect.
    #6. Make it part of the frog archetype and give it a direct attack effect with a once per turn it cannot be destroyed by battle effect.
    #5. Small attack boost to the monster summoned by it and immunity to monster, spell , or trap effects.
    #4. Free extra normal summon that turn or summon one of the other members, except for the one they attach to.
    #3. Give them a high level monster that gains the effect of Necrovalley if it is normal summoned, but if normal summoned it’s not allowed to attack your opponent directly.
    #2. Give it the ability to revive itself the standby phase after it was destroyed and gives every Zombie monster on the field an attack boost of 200 times the result of a die roll for your opponent’s turn and make it so that specific effect can’t be negated.
    #1. Just take away the Flip part of the effect and add a Fairy Box effect and make it cost life points or discard a card and negate its effect once per turn or destroy it.

    Make the Castle of Dark Illusion a link (ironically similar to your Pumpking retrain with three points toward your side) with a built in yellow luster shield effect as well as removal/destruction protection based on the number of monsters it points to. Give it the effect of not being able to attack but isn't affected by spell, trap or monster effect. Keep the blow up field effect, but add if 1 or more monsters are destroyed by this cards effect, special summon from your hand, deck, or graveyard "Supreme Ruler of Dark Castle, King Yamimakai"
    Supreme Ruler of Dark Castle, King Yamimakai is a level 8 fiend 2000 atk/1530 def with the effect; this monster cannot be normal summoned or set. This monster can only be special summoned by the effect of Castle of Dark Illusion. For each monster destroyed this monster gains the following effect for the turn; 1. This monster gains 3000 atk and piercing and 1 of your opponent's monsters gain the effect "this monster isn't affected by spell, trap, or monster effect". 2. This monster isn't affected by spells, traps, or monster effect, except it's own. 3. Effects cannot be activated in response to this monster's first attack, this monster can attack up to three monster. If this card is banished face down, special summon all non-link monsters destroyed by Castle of Dark Illusion. During your end phase banish this card face down.
    Wanted to change CoDI to something else like changing dark to darkness and/or adding supreme to its name.

    This may sound stupid, but what if the Castle of Dark Illusion had the effect that on your turn, all your fiend monsters are face up, and when your opponent's turn starts, you can shuffle them and then put them all face down. This would be the best way to emulate the dark as you would never know which card which, acting in a similar way to magical hats.
    Also, Pumpking The King of Ghosts could act like Pumprincess the Princess of Ghosts, but with extra benefits and possibly an effect that requires Pumprincess to work.

    In the waaaaay early days, zombies and fiends were treated the same. This was coreected by the time the TCG came out but perhaps it was just translaters who were still late in the game (litterally) making the mistake..for Castle..they also seemed to want to make the connection to Pumpking who was a Zombie. It would only be less synergy if Pumking got a boost only from Castle, but castle inly boosted fiends. The flip effect may have been a pior attempt at emulating Panic's meothod of hiding monsters..but..reversed since the castle was the only one who didnt het hidden..its did have a high defence gimik though, so it did KIND of make sense in the early game. Your oppenent would run into a wall that would also start pumping your monsters soon after. Since they flipped it during the battle phase, there was less chance to do anything to it before it triggered. You could also activate cards like Call of the Haunted on their end phase so you got some zombies back to immeidatly grow stronger..make it Pumpking and you have stacking effects to boost him. That already makes Pumpking 2400 ATK and 2600 DEF pretty quick. He also could get to a max total of 3300 ATK and 3500 DEF with thsoe effects alone, in a few more turns. Still not much but much more impressive back then. The suckiest part is that these boosts occur each of your standby phases for only four turns after the effects' activations. The boosts remain whike the cards do but if you have Castle out but no zombies or Pumking out but no Castle, you lose a boost oppertunity. THAT aspect needs to be changed for sure..additionally they should last on the field even if the boosting cards are removed.

    Retrains are always so fascinating to me. On the one hand I don't like that they potentially (and I think usually) will outright replace the old card, so you aren't inclined to play the old card if you want the deck to be optimized. But on the other hand, sometimes retrains can bring new life and vitality into a deck, and I think that those tend to come from retrains that don't completely replace the original.
    Regardless, you had a lot of good choices here. I wish we had gotten to see Griffore, if only because it's a very forgotten Yugi/Grandpa card, and it's kind of adorable in a bulldogish way, until it gets Horn of the Unicorn; plus the flavor text invites some good options. Also I do think you slept a bit on Jowls of Dark Demise though. Look up the trivia page on that one, it's quite...unexpected.

    I would love to see Dark Flare Knight and Mirage Knight retrained into something useable! Maybe even creating a whole "Mirage" archetype around them that all have the effect of bouncing themselves (to reference how Mirage Knight banishes itself) after being involved in battle which would activate some types of beneficial effects, like summoning out other Mirage cards and/or destroying/banishing your opponents cards.

      Quick Play Spell: Activate when a Mirage Knight you control is banished by its effect, special summon 1 "Dark Magician" and 1 "Flame Swordsman" from your GY.

    8:15 Idea for the Dekoichi retrain: Flip: Summon one monster that has "Bokoichi" in its name or text from your deck other than (insert new name here). If you control another machine type monster on the field when this card is summoned it is treated as a flip summon.
    Then make a Bokoichi retrain with the effect: If you control a "Dekoichi" monster on your side of the field target one machine type monster you control, this monster's level and attribute becomes the same as that monster until the end phase.

    Bonz should have his zombies be Geminis now, since he had the vanilla and the zombie versions in his deck, being Geminis with their 2nd summoning happening on summon from grave or activated in grave to summon could be super cool. Plus Il Blud is a random zombie Gemini and the only used Gemini so it would be fitting for it to basically turn into a zombie favoring thing

    facedown attack position exists in magic the gathering, it just makes them into
    tokens with a set attack and defense.
    when the tokens are destroyed, you special summon the monster underneath
    Yugioh needs more keywords, it took YEARS for them to adopt the term Piercing Damage, and that would help the learning curve
    Oh this is spinning, oh this is floating, etc, which are all unofficial terms but still

    My favorite card has always been Moisture Creature, it's design is so weird. I love using it in DOTR and Falsebound Kingdom. It's always been my boss monster when i daydreamed about being a yugioh character as a kid.

    I liked the Marik and Rare Hunter cards, wanted to build IRL decks out of them and was frustrated it took them so long to print Masked Beast Des Gardius in English. In Japan, it was a promo card they couldn't find a way to fit in a set or in an International promo. Without it, you just have two weak vanilla fiends. It was eventually released in 2007 as a promo in a blister pack.
    They also intentionally removed it and Scapegoat from the international version of Yu-Gi-Oh World Wide Edition Stairway to the Destined Duel for GBA, even though both of those cards and a few others were in the Japanese version and indexed in the game's code. And it was also removed from Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Masters 2006!
    Having a better version that could stand up in today's format would be cool. I always thought his design was sick. -- A.T.

    I would love to see Cyber End Dragon retrained. It came out as a GX Boss Fusion, but these days is pretty lackluster. My current thought is to give it additional effects based on the number of "Cyber Dragon" in your GY.
    Same base stats
    3 "Cyber Dragon"
    This card must first be Fusion Summoned or summoned by the effect of a "Cyber" card. This card gains the following effects based on the number of "Cyber Dragon" in your GY.
    1+: This card inflicts Piercing Battle Damage.

    Just lock the Decoichi/Bokoichi retrains to Earth/Machines to make it stronger but incompatible with Spright, I don't think pure Earth/Machine would be too problematic with a Pot of Greed or Swarming (make it Venus but for Bokoichi or something)
    They should bring the meme to life and make a Frog the Jam retrain legitimately broken so they don't need to errata the rest of the Frogs and have a reason to keep him separate
    The Parodius guys should just be like Cyber Dragon+Inzektors

    A call of the haunted retrain would be cool. Given how slow trap cards are I would like it to be busted. Here's an example,
    Call of the Eternal Haunted (continuous trap): special summon as many monsters from your graveyard in attack position but their effects are negated while on the field or sent to the GY. The monsters are treated as zombie type. You cannot normal or special summon other monsters the turn you activate this card.

    dark scorpions retrains sounds like a fun achetype challenge, maybe alongside the sporadic dijins.
    Now, this is entirely a meme, but how about "Don Zaloog- king of the scorpion bandits. lvl5, 2k atk, 1.5k def. If this card inflicts damage, banish 1 card from your opponent's hand (random), field (target), or graveyard (target). This card can attack directly with half atk if the player does their worst Christopher Walken impression" . "Gorg- muscle of the scorpion bandits. lvl 5, 1800 atk, 2k def. If this card participates in a battle and isnt destroyed, inflict 500 effect damage to the opponent and the opponent must discard 1 card from their hand". "Cliff- trap-master of the scorpion bandits. Lvl4. 1.1k atk, 1500 def. When this card is summoned, the owner can set one trap from their deck and activate it this turn OR banish one spell/trap their opponent controls. If this card inflicts battle damage, reveal one set spell/trap the opponent controls, destroy it if it could be activated right now. (the targeted card cannot be activated in response to this effect or a chain that contains it)". Meanae- thorn of the scorpion bandits. lvl4, 1.5k atk, 1000k defense. When this card is summoned, add one "dark scorpions" or "scorpion bandits" card from your deck to your hand.     1.) The Egyptian god cards. Retrain them or errata their effects to mirror their anime effects that is applicable to the real world card game.
    2.) Zoa. Its supposed upgraded form "Metalzoa" sucks and it's an effect monster. At least, make it's retrain use the effect of "Metal Morph" as it should have. Retrain name is "Awakened Zoa".
    3.) Jerry Beans Man. I mean come on. The strongest Lv3 normal monster. His abilities are yet to be tested as described on his flavor text. I'll be calling his retrain "Jerry Senzu Beans Man". 🤣🤣🤣
    4.) Neo the Magic Swordsman (my favorite normal monster😅😅😅) He's somewhat a combination of warrior and spellcaster type, hence, the name but leans more towards the magic arts. He's a dimensional drifter as described in his flavor text, thus, it will be the core of his retrain. Maybe related to the D.D. series, he can be the searcher for D.D. cards or rather have the effects of banishing type spell/trap cards such as "Dimensional Prison" or "Return from the Different Dimension". Retrain name is "Neo the Dimensional Swordsman" or "D.D. Magic Swordsman".

    I have a few Retrain ideas. Judgeman: clear the courtroom: You can pay 1500 lp destroy all face up monsters your opponite controls. Toon Datk Rabbit give it a stratos affect and let its attack double when attacking direct;y. Toon Parrot Dragon let it be normal summoned without tribute and you can destroy spells and traps. The Lendary flame swordsman: can be normal summoned without tribute like giltia the d knight soul spear. discard a card add an equip spell or continuous trap to your hand. Give it a floating effect where if its destroyed you can special summon the fusion or blue flame swordsman from the deck if its destroyed by battle or card effect.

    I would love to see retrains of Clear World and Clear Vice Dragon, along with new support for the Clear archetype since those are the only two cards that exist outside of the GX anime. For the longest time, I've wanted the Clear, Darkness, and Doll archetypes to become real archetypes outside of the anime.

    A Slime Toad retrain called Frog the Jam that's just Slime Toad but this time it counts as a frog would be so funny.
    Imagine telling some returning player that the "Except Frog the Jam" part on the frogs was errata'd after they errata'd Frog the Jam to be Slime Toad so now all the Frogs work with Frog the Jam.
    Maybe have the artwork just be a mirrored and palette swapped version of Slime Toad to really mess with the players.

    I do feel like the Arkana Dark Magician could use a new retrain, hell! Do a whole archetype based on Arkana’s dark magician, focused more on turning dark magician as means to used them as mere materials for Xyz summon, effects that require tributes and so on. It could be like the blackwargreymon archetype in the digimon tcg where it’s still tied to the original wargreymon and Can support it, but it can also be played as it’s own separate archetype. Hell, maybe have it be a Xyz spam level 7 archetype Can make DM somewhat better rather that wtahever new forced gimmick they want to do with yugi’s dm.

    'Frog the Jam's' Japanese Name already has the same word used for the 'Toad' Cards, and 'Jam' is still fine for Slime Monsters - then, since Frog the Jam is already a huge Meme, *make its new Name a Meme in itself!*
    'Toad Jam' is meant to sound similar to 'Toejam', _the slimy muck that builds up between your Toes_ - as a Slime Monster, Toad Jam easily gives this impression life. The name gives it the unappealing feelings it's meant to portray, and *is certainly not something you'd want to put your Foot in!*
    Effect-Wise, Toad Jam could be _either a Slime Support Card,_ or if you _really_ want to be evil, have it be *designed around excluding Frogs - like how they excluded it!* Like say, *a Passive 'Riryoku' Effect* for every 'Frog' on the Field (excluding 'Frog the Jam' - _just for the Memes!),_ for about 500 ATK and DEF. It could then be _technically_ used in a Frog Deck, but would have to be *your main Win Condition* for it, or use it as a Hosing Card _against Frog Decks to get the card's Revenge..._

    so personally, for the panik retrains, what i would do is slightly different. i would turn the castle into a trap monster. as for the effect, it would gain..eh, lets say 1000 defense for each fiend on the field upon its activation (as to reference the shield in the anime.), and when it gets destroyed, wipes out all monsters in the zones around it. the other cards from panik, i would give floating effects that either let you recycle the castle retrain, or generically support fiends.

    Duuude! Seeing Curse Of Dragon again at 0:44 brought a huge nostalgia wave, as I play Master Duel a lot but with thousands of cards you lose so many. I remember seeing it in a magazine I had as well as the God cards and Exodia pack which was like $99 for the 5 pieces I think. I remember cutting out some of my favorite cards just to mess around with, since we couldn't buy tons of packs to play and I didn't care for the legitimate collection, rather just seeing these wicked looking cards. Oh and just remembered seeing that sphinx card Theinen.

      Glad you like our videos! I'm just an independent channel that I run and invite my friends on to talk about stuff. I don't have a network. A few friends like Judgment Meter are a direct part of the channel since they help out on and off the mic, though. Software Agents are just friends that I collab with sometimes who used to help me with footage when I was still building my channel (and visa versa on their channel), so I'm not involved with the management of their channel, but they're always welcome to cohost with me and I'm glad you like their content! I know they put a lot of work into it. Anyway, I'd love to do content like that if we got the time. That's sort of what we tried out on Judgment Meter's channel, but the extra editing took up a lot more time than expected, even though it was just cutting audio, so it's mostly just an occasional thing when we have the time. I'm not sure if I'd want to upload the uncut audio from recording sessions since we have a lot of gaps in talking or get sidetracked with tangents, but maybe I can try that out as a bonus upload some day!

    Here is my idea for Pumpking the king of ghosts.
    2 or 3 level 4 or lower zombie monsters
    This card can only point to level 5 or lower Zombie monsters, zombie monsters this card points to cannot be targeted by effects and their effects are negated. Each turn all zombie monsters this card points to gain 500 attack. This card cannot be targeted by monsters or effects if it is pointing at a zombie monster.
    Calling of the haunted.
    When this card is activated target up to three level 4 original zombie monsters and special summon them to your field. If a level 5 or lower zombie monster with attack greater than 500 is destroyed, special summon it to field but it cannot attack this turn. You cannot special summon other cards outside of this effect until the turn after this card leaves the field, except call of the haunted.
    Basically make it a beatdown zombie deck that takes weak zombie monsters and slowly pumps them up.

      I've always thought of Jack-o-Bolan as a different monster who's just wearing Pumpking's corpse, but it could be the same monster, with the king's soul exploding out of the body. We're usually pretty thorough in mentioning the history of the monster, so that would've been a good one to bring up regardless!

    I already made a retrain of Pumpking myself, the effect I gave it was: If "Castle of Dark Illusions" is face-up on the field, you can special summon this card. Once per turn during your Standby Phase, add 1 pumpkin counter to this card (max 4), monsters you control gain 100 ATK and DEF for each pumpkin counter on the field. You can remove 1 pumpkin counter from the field to send 1 monster from your deck to the GY and place 1 card from your deck or GY on top of the deck; this effect of "Pumpking the King of Ghosts" can only be used once per turn.
    Works more in line with the retrain it already has in Pumprincess, adds a self-summoning clause, broadens the boost to not just itself, and added some recovery and search power at the cost of its self-generated counters.
    Oh, and while I'm at it, I did a retrain of Castle of Dark Illusions (please note that it is no longer a maindeck effect monster but rather a continuous spell card): Once per turn, add one Pumpkin counter to this card (max 4). All Zombie and Fiend type monsters you control gain 200 ATK for each Pumpkin counter on the field. Face-up Zombie and DARK Fiend monsters you control cannot be targeted by opponent's monsters (battle or card effect) with less DEF than the number of Pumpkin counters on this card x500.
    I feel it works better this way than as a flip effect monster with weird stats, and was fiend type yet only affected zombies. But I did reference the high DEF value with that added protection clause. Anyway, with these two in combination with Pumprincess we can juice up weak zombies and add a bit better flow. I like the idea of old weak zombies that were pretty much only good for attacking getting a buff, like Decayed Commander and Zombie Tiger, Malevolent Mech Goku En, Ryu Kokki, Vampire Baby, Skelesaurus, and of course Berserk Dragon.

    Okay, hear me out though: Retrains of the vehicroids. Make it so they have a synergy within the archetype both new and old, and fix the boss monster so he gets bigger numbers per Roid fused, with defenses to match to the numbers (after a point, you just omniprotection), but make it so he has some downside to make up, like he cannot attack the turn he's summoned. Incentivize the threat to pop him with a Power Bond, considering the self destruct is on tier with a Power Rangers Zord finisher explosion

    As far as meme-worthy monsters, it might be interesting to see a retrain of Jigen Bakudan. Maybe make it so it destroys the monster that destroys it and inflicts damage equal to the monster's ATK to both sides like Ring of Destruction, or if it's flipped and stays on the field for X number of turns it wipes the opponent's monsters.

    better idea for dark scorpians; have them unaffected by card effects during either player's main phase, and keep the battle effects, but instead of sending things to the GY, you put them in the S/T zome on either player's field. then either player can pay LP to put them back i nthe deck, so its like the dark scorpians stole them and are selling them back to the owners.

      I prefer Evil HERO retrain of Neos because not having a card based Ultraman Belial is sacrilege.

    For Dark Scorpions, you can probably give them all except Don Zaloog a basic special summoning effect like "If Don Zaloog or a Neo Dark Scorpion monster is on the field, you can special summon this card from your hand" to help with bringing them out and then maybe give them effects that multiply in lethality for the amount of cards your opponent has OR send more cards from the deck for each Neo Black Scorpion on the field. So like, once one inflicts battle damage it can be as simple as just "Send a number of cards from top of your opponent's deck to the graveyard equal to the number of face-up Neo Dark Scorpion monsters you control and negate their effects while in the graveyard".
    Heck, maybe have the level 5 get stronger for the number of cards your opponent has sent from their hand or deck to the graveyard until the end of the turn.

    Here's an idea why about retraining Goblin King card I think it would go really well with all the other Goblin cards maybe even making them into a archetype deck

    I wouldnt mind a retrain of the god cards. Obelisk could get a hand trap style like raviel got, and slifer could just get a new form.

    Isnt the easy work around with Dark Scorpions to make tgeir effects banish cards face down? Like, you take damage and basically lose a card.
    Definitely needs more help, but it at least keeps the spirit of the original archetype

    On the Malice Doll retrain idea. I think it's effect being "(once per turn) when this card is sent to the GY by a spell card, Special summon it" would be good enough. That would be enough for a bunch of random existing card plays:
    -You could use foolish to get it out
    -1 for 1 so summon it and get a lv1 tuner out for generic L5 plays
    -super poly to have extra field presence even during the opponents turn.
    Or you could use 1 of the many "send 1 monster in your field to the GY do do something" effects and basically cover the cost.
    It could even work with stuff like hand destruction or lightsworn spells as a random extra card. I don't think it would be Overpowered but adding more on top of that and making the effect not a varient of a once per turn would be a concern hence my idea of limiting it. It could also have random synchron synergy by being sent to the graveyard by the "Tuning" spell card

    36:58 If the Castle of Dark Illusions wiped the field when it was destroyed and supported Dark Fiend monsters, it might be pretty good in an archfiend arch type deck. Triggering Pandemonium and some of their own effects like Heiress'. I just want archfiends to be good so bad...
