    Most robotiic vacuum excels when it comes to handling regular dry messes, effortlessly tackling everyday dust, dirt, and debris. However, it might not be as optimal for handling stickier spills or messes that require a bit more elbow grease to clean up. While it's fantastic for routine cleaning tasks, it might be worth considering additional methods or tools for those occasional tougher challenges. Anyway, thanks for the video tips! It helps!

      @HydroMant Thank you for sharing your experience! My additional method has been cleaning it by hand LOL because I have yet to find a tool that can clean up black marks from the vinyl floor without some elbow grease. Do you have any recommendation?

    Hi Kim great video! I got one issue though with my S8 Pro Ultra, which is the onboard tank of the roborock itself. Not the water tank or the dirty water tank which seat inside the dock. It tends to get really smelly after quite some time. Previous model like the S7, you could remove the onboard water tank for cleaning. I've reached out to Roborock and guess what....they didn't give any solution to this obvious design flaw. Hope that you probably have encountered this issue before and can share any tips to get rid of the smell.

      @MRizaE Thank you for sharing your experience. I haven't had this issue. The onboard tank on the robot itself should be clean water only, so it shouldn't be smelly. If it smells, I wonder if (1) the washing mop somehow gets the dirty water back into that onboard tank, which would mean that its a defect on the product, or (2) somehow something dirty got stuck in the onboard tank by accident.
      The only thing I could think of that you can do is following the steps below in order:
      (1) Disassemble the mop and wash with soap by hand
      (2) Consider cleaning the bottom of the robot and make sure nothing smells at the bottom of the robot
      (3) Consider cleaning the dock and make sure nothing smells in the docking station
      (4) Clean both dirty water tank and clean water tank of the dock
      (5) Run the Wash Mop function 5-6 times or more (do this after everything is clean and you haven't mopped or clean anything). This steps should run through and clean the onboard water tank. I'd recommend do a sniff check every few run to see if there's progress.
      Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes!

    This is another excellent review regarding this robot vacuum. My Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is still going strong, and I must say it definitely outperforms my other Robot Vaccums; Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 Robot Self-Empty XL and the Shark - AI Ultra Robot Vacuum RV2502AE with XL HEPA Self-Empty Base. I have a vacuum on each floor of our home. The Roborock is on our main floor, which receives the most traffic. We have two dogs; Yoki (our working line German shepherd) will bring her favorite toys to Roborock (or, as I call her, Rockin' Robin) to entice her to play with her. However, Robin is not interested in playing and the Roborock navigates and cleans around her with ease.
    I'm with you on cleaning that dirty tank water after each use. I definitely don't want to deal with a smell tank. I still have not tried out the reusable dust bags that I purchased. I'll test it out the next time I need to replace the vacuum bag.
    My only complaint is that I use dustbags. Both of my Sharks are bagless; however, that's just a minor complaint I can live with. I have our Roborock set to vacuum four times daily; three times, it vacuums, and the fourth time, it mops. I have it clean so much since our German Shepherd sheds. Because of that, we always have clean floors, and it's one less chore I have to do.

      @threadlovert1393 Thank you for stopping by again and the kind compliment! Glad to hear that your Roborock S8 Ultra is still going strong. It definitely boosts our confidence in the little fella!
      Awww, your German shepherd is so sweet for wanting to share her favorite toys with the Roborock to make new friends!!!
      Yeah, I agreed about the dust bag - not really a fan of the concept. Thanks for the reminder! I still need to look into the reusable dust bag.
      I am really surprised how convenient the Roborock is for a quick daily clean. It definitely has helped cut back the cleaning time.

      @@kimandtech It does a fabulous job. I ran into issues recently; my Roborock (I call her Rockin' Robin) ran over some ash. I had cleaned our woodstove, and a fine layer of ash dropped under it; it blended in with the tile. I thought I'd gotten it all. My goodness, did it make a mess of the Roborock base. I thought the base could be removed, and looking at it last evening, it appeared it could. My daughter did not think it could; I remembered having her set up the base. I watched your video again a few hours ago and confirmed I was right. I removed, cleaned, and replaced all the extra parts this morning. It's cleaning a lot better, but my goodness was that water was filthy! I dump my water after each mopping session so I don't have any odor. Like yourself, I have no desire for fermented dirty water. I also use it with Alexa and it works very well.

      @@threadlovert1393 Oh my that must have caused you a lot of headache. I'm glad my video helped! 😅 Yeah, the Roborock is great for light cleaning, but the heavy cleaning would result in more work afterwards😭

    Thank you for your cleaning help as I'm a newbie. When I turn the robovac upside down is there any water inside? I'm still confused as to when it has mopped and goes back to the dock, does it empty dirty & refill with clean straight away? It says 'starting to wash the mop' when I have it scheduled on a cleaning cycle, before it cleans.

    • @kimandtech
      @kimandtech  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know about other model, but the Roborock S8 Pro has clean water inside the robot. That's the water that is used to mop the floor.
      The Roborock S8 robot does a mop clean and empty dust to the dock's dustbin when it's at the end of its clean. It may empty the dust if it sense the dust bin on the vacuum is dirty and you have Auto Emptying enabled with Smart mode. As for washing the mop during a clean, the frequency is set under Dock Settings > Mop Wash Frequency.

    I have a question about water tanks. Is there a way to clean the dirty water line? Vinegar solution? Is there a flush setting?

    • @kimandtech
      @kimandtech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's no flushing setting, and I don't see anything on their User Manual on cleaning the "dirty water line". From theory, you can try dumping out the dirty water tank and cleaning a clean floor with vinegar solution mixed with water. This should help with this "dirty water line" since there should be no dirt or very little going into the dirty water tank, which the vinegar and water solution should be relatively clean running through the "dirty water line" to clean it. Hopefully that helps!

    Do you recommend using the robovac detergent? And where do I put in ? In the clean water tank?

    • @kimandtech
      @kimandtech  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you referring to the RoboVac Hard Floor Cleaning Solution? Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with it since I have not used it. I make my own cleaning solution with the 5% vinegar and water. If you want to use the RoboVac Cleaning Solution, you can try it by diluting it with water for your first test and see how it works out. Hope it works out for you! 🙂

    Hi, how did you empty the on board water tank to be able to flip it upside down? I can’t seem to find that info anywhere?

    • @kimandtech
      @kimandtech  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, it can be found from the User Manual under C-15 - Cleaning Air Duct - page 13 of the FCC manual for U.S. users.
      Link: support.roborock.com/hc/en-us/articles/17819469369241-Roborock-S8-Pro-Ultra-FCC-User-Manual-EN-FR-ES-Latin-
      I'd recommend opening up both the User Manual and the Diagram PDF so you can see the diagrams and have their instructional texts side-by-side.

    Thanks. Do you know how to remove stinky water from the robot itself?

    • @kimandtech
      @kimandtech  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The water inside the robot should be the clean water because there's only dirty water when the dock is cleaning the mop, which then dumps the dirty water into the Dirty Water Tank. Thus, there's no Roborock instructions on how to drain the internal water from the robot without potentially running into wiring issue.

      Great review. I learned a bit. I just replaced my old Roborock ultra 6 with this unit as it was price drop to 987.00 at BB. We wer close to the ultra plus with hot water but that is 1799.00. Just glad I am done iRobot. Thanks.
