Nice video!!! I bought the Dyson Vis Nav first, but after using it for two days, I decided to refund it and purchased the MaxV. It's much smarter than the Dyson, with a good battery life and similar vacuum power to the Dyson. I know Dyson no longer uses a dust bag, but to be honest, the dust bag saved a lot of time. I love the MaxV, it's probably the smartest vacuum robot on the market right now, and it has saved me a lot of time. I think I might need to try the cleaning solution next time, although using just pure water is already good for now.
Was really interested in the new one (currently have the pro ultra) BUT! there were a few things that turned me off straight away: the empty hole is now on the side and has built up gunk, the vacuum chamber is smaller, the vacuum chamber outlet is tiny (could get blocked easily), soooo many fingerprints!, camera is a big no for privacy, its taller and wont clear under the dishwasher door when its open or some of my cabinets, vacuum bag in awkward spot and it made a b-line straight for that poop 😂 So I think ill just stick with one i have 👌
I watched your robot vacuum cleaner review videos. I'm undecided between roborock s8 maxv ultra and dreame l20 ultra. Which one would you recommend between the two? By the way, yours are the best review videos.
Thats the issue with them, like Ecovacs, they wet and ruin carpet edges., Though is the 2nd best after S1 Pro. Very solid, well made. Not cheap plastic like X40
Video vs laser should be a significantly higher consideration; as the way photo and video are handled by the vendor have high risk for users; they are really loud; didn’t expect that; take up a lot of space; hard to hide it.. MaxV has features that should have been a no brainer in their first version (corner wipe and brush; 20 mm pad lift); sonic vs rotating brush would always expect rotating brush to do a better job at slower pace; too bad it doesn’t steam but I guess that would need a bigger battery but no need for dirty water tank; I’d separate carpet vacuum zones vs non; to avoid getting a wet mop over carpet and increase repetition since older version definitely needs it.. high price.. not there yet.. they need competition…
When will you be comparing the s8 maxv to the x40? Really waiting to see that. Also, are you able to test the water and air temperature of the docks? Some others are saying the Roborock is.not getting anywhere near the specs for either (just saw this on the new flexi pro review). Wasn’t sure if you had an infrared and cabled thermometer with a probe. They are pretty inexpensive on Amazon. Would be a great addition to your tests. Last, since comparing the Dreame and Roborock, a small 1/2” to 3/4” high piece of wood maybe 12” long to emulate tubular furniture would be interesting..very similar to the flat legs on your table in kitchen. I have not seen anyone else testing this obstacle but I think the x40 will see it and avoid it which would be impressive.
@JustADad I am in two minds between the Eufy X10 Pro Omni and the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. The feature set is very similar albeit the S8 has stronger suction power and larger tanks for clean/dirty water. Any advice or video you have perhaps on the comparison of the above two?
I am in Australia, where the MaxV is 3000$ and the Pro Ultra is 1650$ as part of the sale. For context I am using S7 and need for upgrade is due to auto dock and something a little better . So I am wondering if Pro Ultra enough, keeping the price difference in mind? Or would you recommend still to go with MaxV?
In case you have cats. How much of an issue is cleaning the dock with cat litter? I've got the base S8 and even after 2 vac runs and mopping afterwards the mop has a fair amount of sticky litter on it. So I imagine, when the mop is cleaned all that gunk is then on the dock's brush.

Really depends on what features you need and your budget. That's why this video exists to show you the differences!

Compare the warranty. Roborock is terrible. Consider you own a piece of garbage after the warranty expire because Roborock will not help.
