Thank you for reacting to this movie! It's just a goddamn cool movie that people overlook these days!
it is EXTREMELY cool!
I've been a fan for yesrs
@@RhetoricalThrill One liner the movie.
I always appreciate Tony Scott's use of color in his films. RIP to an artist.
Danielle Harris in a non horror role
Don't feel bad, no one is prepared for this movie the first time they see it.🥰❤️🔥🇨🇦
BOOM BOOM BOOM 💜💜💜
This is one of the best roles for Taylor Negron (Milo). It's one I couldn't even imagine him playing, but he really owned it. Another is in Punchline with Sally Field and Tom Hanks. He's also got memorable standout roles as bit parts in Savage Steve Holland vehicles Better Off Dead and One Crazy Summer. He even managed to be memorable as the pizza guy in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
"what's a little boy doing with big boy smut like this?" Taylor was a complete original...
It's Chelsea, not Sally. :) Sally someone completely different.
@@oldinion no Sally Field is in Punchline with Tom Hanks (the op was referring to Taylor Negron being in that film.).. Chelsea Fields plays Sara in Last Boyscout. Chelsea was also in Masters of the Universe as Teela and Blake Edwards' Skin Deep with John Ritter.
@@mcgilj1 Ah, right my reading comprehension is clearly flawed. :)
One of my favorite comedians/actors since the 70s Taylor was hilarious and dramatic in every comedy film, TV series, sitcoms. Rest In Paradise Taylor Negron.
Love it! Nobody reacts to this but I watched it way too much back in the day!! Still use a lot of these lines!!
These movies are extremely quotable
Indeed!
I remember how shocked I was the first time I saw the opening and that guy started shooting the other players. I wish we got a sequel to this. Bruce made a great PI.
He was great at the PI thing! And even if I expected something crazy, I never would have called that opening 😯
That was Billy Blanks the tae bo guy:)
@@ProtossWannabe1984Yeah Billy was an actor who always had small roles in big movies and lead roles in small movies. He was almost famous for years until Tae Bo made him a household name.
the series "moonlighting" was the beginning of willis career... he was a PI in it.....
@@Metzwerg74 I never really like Moonlighting as a kid. Guess it was a bit to grown up for me at the time. I definitely need to see if I can stream it somewhere and see it through a new perspective.
My favorite action movie!!! Thanks for reacting to this, Bruce is so good at one liners!!! God bless the man and his family for what he is going through, but his legacy in Hollywood can never be touched!!! Next one, if you have not seen Face Off from 1997, highly recommend it!!!
It is so sad what’s happening to him, no one should experience that 😞
Good one! I haven’t seen it
Yes I had a family member go through it
It should a great watch
It's tragic what happening to him one of my late Grandmother had it.
The amount of 1-liners in this film, must be the biggest ever. 😁
So sassy! 💜
The pattern you're noticing in Shane Black movies always involves a fiesty kid either nearly a teen or just barely one. You'll also see it in Iron Man 3 and Leathal Weapon to a lesser extent.
Not in Lethal Weapon.
Tony Scott's finest Hour!!!
This movie is a hidden gem! Willis' one-liners are hilarious. The action is over-the-top in the best way possible. Definitely worth a watch.
I’ve been looking for someone to do a reaction to The Last Boy Scout.
You are a legend ❤
It was my pleasure! Such a good time 😊
Hubby's shirt probably says "I don't Know Margot!".
⭐️
Great movie , terrific acting by Bruce Willis !!
I feel so sorry about his current condition ,the guy's a legend !
Same, it’s horrible. I hope he is as comfortable as he can be and his family are comforting each other.
All that Fame... all that Money.... can't help, it's so bitter....
As much as I love Die Hard, there are aspects of this film that I love even more. Love the witty dialogue, the chemistry between Willis and Wayans, and the fact that the villains are in a position of power that leads to more challenges for our heroes to bring them down. Seriously, we have a corrupt senator, and an NFL team owner, and his goon squad. Which begs the question, do all NFL team owners have henchmen:)
There are some owners that I’d all but guarantee have goons 😂 Die Hard has that cat-and-mouse aesthetic, and this is more noir-style mystery, I love them both 💜
@@RhetoricalThrill me too. Love it all:)
Jerry jones you know he got one
The Long Kiss Goodnight is awesome! Check it out if you haven't already. And you noticed what I've always said--Shane Black loves to beat the crap out of his characters!
You’ll enjoy the next one 😉
One of my all time favourites, the dialogue is so snappy and the violence gratuitous
I love funny and I love violence, two great tastes that taste great together 😂
This movie is a lot of fun. RIP to the late great Tony Scott.
Saw this in the 11th grade in theaters.... haif the audience was standing for the big parts. The opening soundtrack alone changed the way I looked at films!
It has been such a joy to watch your reaction and commentary. Thank you for that! I look forward to the next one.
Also I recommend Hudson Hawk.
Thank you so much for being here!
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is his best. In addition it got Robert Downey Jr on Jon Favreau's radar for Iron Man, so, yeah.
This one is darker, but tight. Totally enjoyable.
That no one likes you bit always hit me when I'm depressed then I tell myself to smile
Sometimes we do just have to get through it, and do what we have to do to put one foot in front of the other, but man 😞
"Top less all the time, just like your dead girlfriend ". Your one liners are on point with Bruce's HAHAHAHA
THE HIGHEST OF COMPLIMENTS 🥹
This movie really deserved a sequel imo. A very underrated classic action film in my book.
I could watch many more! Shane Black writes amazing characters
fun movie, snappy dialogue and explosions. All that you need in a action movie.
BOOM 💥
Haha “prepared “ I like what you did there
😁
I had forgotten about this movie, was such a ride to see again.
I must say that you seem to give as good as you get where snappy remarks are concerned. Makes my eyes just the _slightest_ shade of green.
Thank you, madame, for electing to screen this movie. As far as I know, _everyone_ reacts to *Die Hard* and its sequels, but this one seems to have slipped through the cracks. Can't imagine why; it's got everything a *Die Hard* aficionado could ask for (and _then_ some) and I'd think that there would be plenty of recommendations for this one. Maybe the sponsors tend to think it's too intense, I don't know. But it was good to have it reacted to once - and it was even better that you should turn out to be the one.
Congrats in plenty for achieving 5K subscribers - and, as my contribution to the goal of reaching 6K, consider the following subscription a gift for the holidays. Success in your endeavors! ☺️ 😎
Ahhh, thank you so much for all the kind words! I'm glad I get to do a lot of these movies that get less attention, even if it means we grow a little more slowly 😊
@@RhetoricalThrill
Ah, yes..."slow but steady wins the ratings." 'Twas a pleasure to oblige...and your reply is a pleasure _and_ a privilege, madame. 😊
That opening is classic. Friday nights a great night for football!
It felt so on point
Much to my parents dismay (alright, maybe just my mom's dismay,) this was the first non-Disney movie I saw as a kid. I watched it over and over as if I was rehearsing for a role in a sequel. The one-liners slowly crept into my vocabulary, often used apropos of nothing. "Mom, can I have some codeine in my pancakes? Shit, I'm being grounded by the inventors of Scrabble!"
Omg 😂
7:28 there used to be a trope in films, of women saying things like, "you don't even hit me anymore, don't you still love me?"
Also, keep in mind that Shane Black played the guy in Predator that was telling all the "my girlfriend has a big p_ssy" jokes. It's a thing that he does.
You can’t blame him for those jokes, you’ll have to blame the guy who wrote them.
Oh, really? OK then.
@oscardiggs246 Shane Black improvised his own jokes in Predator, and apparently spent his free time on the set writing Boy Scout.
Wait, really? He's THAT guy? That's hilarious 🤣
@@DavidB-2268 Yes, sorry. irony doesn't really come across in text format. i should know better.
This was the first thing I saw Damon Wayans in after the In Living Color comedy sketch show, and he killed it. I was so hoping for a sequel. Too many great lines in this.
The Wayans are all hilarious
Never woulda happened. Production was hell due to the massive egos of Bruce Willis & Joel Silver. In addition to the fact that Bruce and Damon HATED each other during production, which he ironic since their chemistry was incredible and natural. Tony Scott described the production as having “too many cooks.”
His next film “True Romance” parodied Joel Silver with the character of Lee Donowitz.
@@charlesnyckd I think I remember hearing about that from one of Minty’s videos…10 things you didn’t know about (movie). Too bad though.
The first time I saw Damon Wayans was in Beverly Hills Cop in 84 when my late aunt ( Mother's middle sister) took me.
CHRISTMAS VACATION is the movie. Line said by the NOT-late, but GENUINELY GREAT Julia Louis Dreyfuss.....
First timer, random flick I've seen, random drop in my feed.
Love you're channel already, love your style, excellent takes, smart analysis. I'm in.
Fantastic! I’m glad you’re here and I hope you enjoy it 😊
@@RhetoricalThrill went right back to Superbad and loving that too. Noticed the full playlist and liking the selection. I got the impression from the list that you've seen a lot of movies, but certainly not the hidden gems.
In case you care, demographically, I'm a very early gen x movie nerd, and I'm sure you've got the chops to have your subs full of old movie nerds.
Of course, you've got the metrics, I don't, but personally I'd say look in to the golden age of 70s independent cinema, and don't be afraid of black and white. It's not just for the ancient, some of us grew up on the old stuff, and have always been online too. Just my take, but that might be your crowd, it's me anyway.
“…and then some.”
Joseph ’Joe’ Halenbeck
“Head or gut?”
Make sure to pick or you’ll get both 😂
This movie doesn't get enough attention. Glad to see a reaction here. In the original script, Jimmy is a big, blonde, white guy. There's a moment in the script where Shane Black starts to write a sex scene and he's like "Look. My mother reads this shit. Let's just say they did it and move on."
I like that we don't waste a lot of time with bedroom stuff, I'm here for the bro bonding and c4 🤣
@@RhetoricalThrill Hell yeah! The kind that shreds! :)
Who's the guy in the closet? Remember the great words from Arnold in the Last Action Hero. "There's always a guy in the closet"
Never saw it! But good advice
@@RhetoricalThrill Last Action Hero is right up your alley. So much cheese and ridiculousness. But a really good concept that's executed very well.
Before I even start the vid I want to thank you for reacting to this movie ... Been waiting for more reactors to do this imo unofficial Die Hard movie forever
I hope you liked it!
@@RhetoricalThrill I did! Keep em coming
I forgot how cool this movie was. Too bad it didn't get a sequel. Thanks for the memory.

I live for the inappropriate 😂
Congratulations on 5k subscribers
Thank you Towana 💜
Don't you dare feel bad even for a second about the topless like your dead girlfriend joke. It was brilliant and I loved it!
🤣
Oh this is a winner.
I dont see this title too often.
A shame, too! It’s so much fun
"Go Tarzan!" 😂
My favorite Bruce Willis movie. It's too bad he and Damon Wayans apparently really didn't get along because you can't tell on the screen.
I highly recommend "Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man" starring Don Johnson and Mickey Rourke.
My first thought to that football field scene was “he’s gunning it.”
Ohhh that’s a good one!
This is a fun action buddy movie. Great review
a really good, really underrated movie. one of my favorite Bruce Willis movies.
I’m not sure I’ve seen a movie that he didn’t at least improve with his presence
What’s crazy I just watched this movie the other day. I loved this movie growing up. Now you’re watching this as a reaction is crazy lol
I love when that happens 😊
Wow ! a reaction to TLBS! So few of them. Yet.
Thank you for picking that movie.
Hopefully more to come! It’s one of those movies that now I’ve seen it I’m going to push it on my friends 😂
This is how I developed a life long crush on Danielle Harris
It’s funny, I only know her from a little Disney channel movie from the 90s, but she is cute af
Bruce was a great PI in "Moonlighting" as well.
Never saw the show, but I've heard of it
Great series one of mine and my late Mother's favorites never missed an episode.
I love how Joe is portrayed as absurdly strong but also has just the shittiest luck.
It’s a great balance
One of my favorite movies back in the day.
Your husband’s sweater says “I DON’T KNOW… MARGOOOOOT!”

Brilliant movie had this on vhs back in 1991 its an underrated movie with bruce willis and damon wayans
Excellent film choice. I actually like this more than Die Hard, Bruce Willis was really good in this. Tony Scott as usual delivered a top notch action film. It's a shame he passed away, he was really talented and had a fantastic eye for cinema.
That is sad for sure, he was a talented filmmaker. I’m a fan of Die Hard but this one has that buddy aspect that I love
@@RhetoricalThrill Oh yeah, Die Hard is great, this film is only slightly better for me, due to the buddy aspect. Well, Die Hard sort of has that too, not to this degree but Reginald VelJohnson is sort of the buddy in Die Hard. Anyway, your content is well done and I enjoy your commentary. I just recently became aware of your presence on Twitch, so I'll definitely have to check that out too. Hope your holiday season is going well and that you have a Merry Christmas. If you celebrate it.
They're equally great films to me love them.
You should do striking distance, Mercury rising , and 16 blocks next. Awesome bruce willis movies
✅
This is actually a fantastic movie Totally underrated. Watched it at rhe theatres just before going to college 🙂
I think it’s amazing, I can’t believe it’s not a classic
2 of my favorite Shane Black movies both came out in 1987. The first Lethal Weapon movie and The Monster Squad.
I always forget Lethal Weapon is his, but I hardly remember anything about it anyway 😅
Love them both.
I absolutely adore this movie, and as much as I like Bruce Willis I think the best actors in it are Taylor Negron, Kim Coates, and particularly Danielle Harris. She is astounding as the kid.
I wanna smack her but that was the intention so I agree 😂 A great cast across the board
Taylor was hilarious in Easy Money, Young Doctors In Love, Bad Medicine, The Whoopee Boys, How I Got In To College. Kim Coates is great in a Canadian film called Harmony Cats made after playing in The Last Boy Scout in 92 great film. Danielle Harris one my favorite actresses love her in alot of stuff like TV series That's Life so beautiful and sexy.
Great Shane Black.
Lethal Weapon was kind of watered down by the studio, but it’s worth checking out.
I've seen all the Lethal Weapon movies but so long ago I hardly remember it
@@RhetoricalThrill Oh, I thought you were saying you hadn't seen other Shane Black movies. He wrote Lethal Weapon 1 and 2, but like I said, they are pretty watered down.
Yay, you got it back up 👏🏻
They let it be visible after 48 hours once you file the dispute, but Warner has a month to respond. If they decide to uphold the claim I have to escalate it, so hopefully they don’t 😂
This is gonna be good. Only 1 more Bruce Willis/Shan Black movie left 😝
I have no clue which one that is but I can’t wait!
@@RhetoricalThrill Hudson Hawk, It’s real wierd and campy. I love it, but I’ll admiral it’s at best an aquirred taste.
Okay, so I rechecked and Shane Had nothing to do with Hudson. I have no idea how that thought got stuck in my head.
You might enjoy the noir genre of film. In fact, I can kind of picture you in a hat and trench coat ... you have that kind of energy. Shane Black's style borrows a fair bit from noir. Stoic men down on their luck, untrustworthy women, a world of downright immorality, and often a tough passage through which our protagonist must pass (a torture scene). An excellent spin that Black puts on his stories is he gives us a pair of protagonists who go through a process of bonding, and it provides a structure for witty but often meaningful dialogue. It's smart, because noir started as detective novels, where you are inside the mind, or have a narrator. It works better for film, as a medium, to express those sorts of things in dialogue, which can be done with a pair of heroes.
I used to have a trench coat, I got it a thrift store in Ontario. I used to rock it with a beret in fact 🤣
@@RhetoricalThrill Hah, that's funny, because when I tried to picture you with a classic Sam Spade attire, I ended up picturing a beret. lol
It must be your inner nature or something.
The original draft for this was rated NC-17 so they had to cut way down on the violence which is kinda crazy cud this one is brutal. I always hoped they would release a directors cut with the full unrated version. Still one of my all time favorite movies. You could write a book from the quotes alone from this movie 😅
Also check out The Monster Squad, another Shane Black classic, co written with Fred Dekker.
This is my favourite Shane Black film because it's the one that makes me laugh hardest plus hungover Bruce Willis is my favourite Bruce Willis. But coming back to it after my childhood, I will concede that the level of punishment doled out to women in this film is so stupidly high.
Yeah, I don’t know how early this was in Shane Black’s career but some of the characters needed a bit more work. The Willis-Wayans dynamic was on point though, and made me more forgiving 😂
Love This Film It's an Underrated Classic Full of Great One Liners, Action Scene's & of coarse Wonderful direction from Tony Scott (Film So Good Why No Sequel It Deserved One)
It sounds like the filming process was kind of a disaster, which is really too bad
The daughter is a horror queen Halloween movies and others, Milo plays a lot of bit parts, fast times at ridgemont high, easy money
I know her from a couple other 90s things 😊
The next great Shane Black Christmas collaboration... "The Long Kiss Good Night" Black writes with director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) directing. The tradition continues with 2 great unlikely partner leads, great dialogue and a hell of action ride... If you haven't seen it.. Get it.. Is another great but fallen by the wayside films.
Guess what’s coming up next? 😂
@@RhetoricalThrill i was wondering.. It was this or.. Last Action Hero when you mentioned Shane Black.. I'd even take Iron Man 3.. You can skip The Predator tho...
Bruce telling the wife jokes.. Just mwaaaaah.... Messing with Joe Halleneck and underestimating him are something you do at your own peril. Such a damn shame we never got more films from this duo. Also true of... The Good Guys and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.. Shane Black writing a mismatch action buddy company is just his groove and i wish he would do it more often.
the master of buddy action comedies, truly
@@RhetoricalThrill that he is . Riggs and Murtaugh.. Hallenbeck and Dix... Harry and Gay Perry.. and of course March and Healey... I really dig Black's directed films.. The settings for Kiss Kiss and the Nice Guys are just so specific.. if you can find it .i really liked a Western pilot (that didn't get picked up on Amazon sadly) called "Edge".
Plus..i don't know if you know this . He's the "BIG PU$$Y" guy (the soldier telling the joke to Sonny Landham) from "Predator". Lol. Still cracks me up.
@@RhetoricalThrill i said it elsewhere.. But i think and i won't spoil.. But the next Christmas set Shame Black written action film "The Long Kiss Goodnight".

Never saw Hoosiers
Loved your reaction to this awsome movie!
Aw, thank you for watching it!
Oh, and loved your reaction
Thank you!
I have this one on VHS. Lol. Haven't watched it since vcr's became obsolete.
I think I have a few floating around too 😅
1. Loved this movie. Too bad they couldn't have made a follow-up. It's because the production of this was so chaotic. In a New Yorker profile, Joel Silver said that the making of this film was "one of the three worst experiences of his life." Tony Scott also spoke about how miserable production was, largely because Silver and Bruce Willis took over the production, altered parts of Shane Black's script, and made him shoot scenes he hated under threat of being fired and having to forfeit his salary.
2. Mike/Bruce McGill 44 years and pounds ago played "D-Day" in "Animal House"
3. Darian/Danielle Harris played in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" and you should see her now. OUCH😍💕
4. Aside from the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" this has the best bad guy goes down death with the helicopter stunt.
5. Missing you Bruce.😰
Omg I forgot Danielle Harris was in Don’t Tell Mom 😂 it’s too bad it was such a mess to shoot, the final product turned out great!
@@RhetoricalThrill Danielle Harris would be most famous as one of the quintessential slasher "scream queens". Starting while she was still a child, in two "Halloween" movies as Michael Myers' niece (!).
At the time, the most expensive script ever. 😏
I mean, I think Black is worth the money, but the box office receipts seem to think different 🤣
(7:54) Until this scene, I was wondering why I was even in the theatre and watching this film. (Worth the price of admission...)
Well, it was at the $1 theatres, the place that showed movies after their first 3-week run, so not much was at risk.

(and o lot more than the $2.5 NBillion referenced here. Unfortunately your edit cuts the best line in the movie, when Bruce is getting a beating and warns the henchmen "hit me again and I'll kill ya" then kills him and next beating is asked, "what does it take toake you scream" and answers, "play some rap music". Born in 1953 might explain why I like the line so much.
Yeah, I didn't have a good reaction to that line, I was laughing and missed it 🤣
If The Last Boy Scout is hitting the circuit maybe Hostage is coming soon. One of my faves from BW.
I don’t know that one but I need more Bruce so I’ll check it out!
@@RhetoricalThrill It’s a sleeper - it’s probably some of the best cinematography in his entire catalogue - it went under the radar but once people see it they can’t stop talking about it.
One of my favorite movies. I wished they did a sequel
Of all the movies that get sequels, how these great ones with premises that could totally justify sequels don’t get any, is beyond me
The villains never have great fighting skills in confrontations with the heroes.
