Road House is the perfect storm of 80s action movies. On paper, there’s no reason this movie should work (ludicrous plot, cardboard cutout characters, a lead that’s an odd mashup of Jean Claude Van Damme and Burt Reynolds, corny dialogue, etc), but it’s somehow enormously entertaining.

did not expect an economics lesson, but that is true. Though we would not have a fun movie if they followed sunk cost properly. Also adding to the horrible villians of 80's, the more two dimensional and hateful you make them, the better the payoff is when they get killed/defeated.
So satisfying. I liked it better that the townspeople did it so he didn’t have to.

"it's kind of theft of services, but it was prostitution", I'll protect a woman in that case for a small percentage. Keeps it safe sane and legal.
Yeah, morally both guys were slimeballs. I was more thinking in a strictly legal sense neither wins.
@@RhetoricalThrill Right, vicious cycle of her being a prostitute, guy stealing services, then by default that "boyfriend" being a pimp, decent people in general lol.
Good businesses frequently offer free samples to entice potential customers into making a purchase.

No money changed hands, and it was clear he had no intention to pay for anything.
Although, I suppose some sort of public indecency might apply, but I'm no lawyer so I'll defer to the experts.
Sam Elliot has that effect on most of us.
🤤
Your reaction lo😂l
Guess they are making a remake of this and honestly with woke Hollywood I severely doubt the new one will be no where near as good as the original!!!!
That’s usually a safe bet 😭
For more Sam Elliott, you should watch *Mask* (93% approval on Rotten Tomatoes), based on a true story (and starring Cher).
