I was one of the very early cardholders who got grandfathered into the 4% Savor with no Annual Fee. This card has been great! Please don’t close the current accounts! 😂
Enjoy it until they nerf it
Same! Hope they let us keep it for a very long time.
Me too, no AF 4% on dining and entertainment is great!
They’ve already said you can keep it… for now.
I have a friend who works at Capital One and he confirmed that the Uber card did screw them over when they launched the Savor.
I'm glad i got the Savor just before they discontinued it. Dining is my number one spend category.
Thanks for the video Ben. I called Capital One and asked them that I already had a Quicksilver card and don’t need two. They informed me that when I do receive it I can request a product change. Hopefully that’s true.
Damn, I have both cards (Savor and Walmart) and already have a quicksilver. 🤦♂
Many banks have cards that pay 2X, or higher, on everything without an annual fee. My favorite is the Citi Double Cash. US Bank has a card that pays 4X on restaurant spend with no annual fee. A number of credit unions offer cards with 4X restaurant spend and no annual fee.
I don't mean to sound negative, but your viewers are well informed about cards at Amex, Citibank, Wells Fargo, Capital One and Chase. What we crave is expert analysis about cards from smaller banks and credit unions that we are unaware of
I have the Redstone FCU Visa Signature, which earns 5% cash back on restaurant and gas purchases and has no annual fee, so I was not that interested in the Savor.
@@RonnieM90 have you had a good experience with Redstone?
@@RonnieM90 how has your experience been with Redstone?
@@J0HN_3_16 It has been good.
@@RonnieM90it’s not available to the general public anymore, only to residents of TN and AL.
It's pretty disappointing that the Walmart card is going away, they didn't even notify me lol.
You’ll be getting a letter in the mail soon and they are offering us the Quicksilver in it’s place.
Discover card has 5% cash back at Walmart for Q3
I got a letter the other day. They are replacing my Walmart card with the Quicksilver with no annual fee. I have a Quicksilver with an annual fee. I'm going to see if I can product change the one with the annual fee to the Savor One which has no annual fee.
not the savor one, was actually thinking on going on that one, the ones they really should take out are the two venture one cards before Venture and Venture X and reinstate the 2 lounge visits for the actual owner of the Venture card only, no additional guests

This past weekend, I received a letter from Capital One informing me that my Walmart Rewards card would be product changed into a Quicksilver card effective in September. This will give me two Quicksilver cards. My plan is to product change my existing Quicksilver to probably the VentureOne card. With the Quicksilver, VentureOne, and SavorOne, I will have three Capital One cards and hopefully one day I can possibly upgrade the VentureOne to a Venture X.
That won't allow you to get a sweet SUB for that VX when you get it.
Your hair cut looks clean, bro 👌🏾
The savor card was my girls dream card, she was about to get one. She’s not gonna be happy. Thx for the info though.
I doubt if you can apply to Venture if you already have the venture X?I recently sold my condo for $400k and i want to invest the money in the stock market. However, it appears the market is at an all-time high. Should I invest elsewhere or wait for a market correction?
The stock market is risky But staying on the sidelines is riskier. Missing the next bull run will be far more costly to your long-term wealth than getting in at the "right price". Consult a financial advisor if you're unsure how to proceed.
You're right, I and a few Neighbours in Bel-Air Area work with an advisor who prefers we DCA across other prospective sectors. Instead of a lump sum purchase, Following this, my portfolio grew 37% in the last quarter
Mind if I look up your advisr please? I've worked in real estate for over 25 years and have neglected a major stock portfolio. This served me well when I was flipping and renting houses, however I need a different plan now
I've stuck with the popularly ‘’Laura Grace Abels” for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look her up
thank you for putting this out, it has rekindled the fire to my goal... was able to spot Laura after inputting her full name on the web, she seems highly professional with over a decades of experience
Also the Saks Fif Ave card is leaving Cap 1
I have a savor card , never any problem actually I’ve paid it off . I guess I’ll find another card I like capitol one and I like my annual fee waived .
Those who live in california could apply for the golden 1 rewards+ card with 4 back on gas and 3 back on dining/groceries.
Dang. I picked up the vanilla venture last year and only just got pre-approval for the venture x this month. Did it in the wrong order
Was just offered the Capital One Savor card in mid August. Approved for $10,000. You're the second youtube site to say something about the Savor card is being taken out. This is not the case seeing Capital One is offering this card after these videos came out.
Ugh, what if I don't want the QuickSilver?
WM card was great...5% cash back using WM Pay for the first year, so basically all groceries at WM was 5% for the year.
That person was happy you all had to leave😂😂😂
I have the quicksilver card and been wanting to get the venture x but they haven't done a 90k offer in some time now, would this be a good alternative to go with then upgrade?
My grandfathered in metal Savor card broke about 3 weeks ago, they sent me a replacement. It's still metal, but the expiration date is still a few months away.
I had the uber card and still have the grandfathered savor card. Didn't know all about that drama!
My first travel credit card. Canceled 4+ years ago because of bad service. Might get it again.
Hey Ben, have you made a video about the US Bank Business Triple rewards card yet? Just curious, I just applied and got approved, $750 welcome bonus and no annual fee
I was grandfathered 🙂
I have the original Savor at 4% no annual fee. I haven't received anything yet as far as the card ending. Hope not it's a great card!
The Walmart credit card never made sense. X2 in store purchases; just about any card can provide the same value. Furthermore, you can get x5 at Walmart with the AAA card. Basically, the card with its $500 CL was useless
Can I upgrade the savor one card to the venture or venture x
Capital One is horrible.
It would be nice if Capital One just got rid of the $95 annual fee on the Savor card and converted all Savor One card holders to the Savor Card to earn 4% back on dining, entertainment, and streaming. That would be a better solution in my opinion.
They’d just be losing money if they did that, I highly doubt they’d even consider that option.
@@natesmith2105 Your probably right. I wish I would have considered the Savor card when it first launched in 2018 to get those perks without the annual fee to pair with my Venture X card.
Major Microsoft problem affecting multiple industries in multiple countries (UK, US, China, Europe, Japan, Australia, India, etc) . The crash is affecting airlines, banks, VISA, MC, AE, stock market, grocery stores, Amazon, etc. The best way is to have CASH as backup. All the effort to go digital can lead to global shutdown which basically happened. Do not get rid of cash. You need a backup system
I got a Savor card with the $95 fee, and I've got a Venture X for misc./travel spending. Part of me is debating if it's worth downgrading the card to a SavorOne because, although ditching the fee would be nice, the vast majority of my spending is on dining and groceries. Do you guys think it would be worth it to switch, or should I just keep what I've got?
Depends how much you spend every year on dining/groceries. They say the threshold is if you spend more than $9500 a year in those categories then the $95 annual fee becomes worth it.
@@AngelMontejo
Close!
The 4% is just on dining and entertainment. The Savor provides only 3% back on groceries, same as the Savor One.
So, the break-even point is around $9500 per year on dining and entertainment, assuming that the rewards are treated as cash back, rather than converted into miles via the venture x, which lowers that threshold if transfer partners allow for miles to be worth more than $.01/mile.
If Capital One buys Discover, should or can I close one of the accounts?
I don't follow this video at all. My Capital1 Savor is still 3% cash back, for both restaurants and grocery stores, as it was when I 1st started. No yearly fees.
This video is about the Savor One card
What if you already have a quick silver
I guess you’ll have two
Haven’t started the video yet, but I’m betting it’s the Quicksilver and savor cards
Well.. You were correct on one of those...
the one in the thumbnail...
Nothing wrong with the Quicksilver card. Not a great catch all, but it's a good catch all. 1.5 on everything.
@@TheCreditShifu Ben, sadly, Capital One also sold their Sak's Fifth Avenue Store Cards, to another bank.
@@TheCreditShifumany banks have cards that pay 2X, or higher, on everything without an annual fee. My favorite is the Citi Double Cash. I don't mean to sound negative, but your viewers are well informed about cards at Amex, Citibank, Wells Fargo, Capital One and Chase. There are more than a dozen channels on YT covering the same cards. What we crave is expert analysis about cards from smaller banks and credit unions that we are unaware of.
if by 2nd yr, I choose to upgrade the Venture to Venture X, will Capital One do hard pull again on all 3 bureaus?
No. Product changes don't require hard pulls
No they won’t. I’ve done it before.
No, but they may or may not give you that upgrade option. Capitol One is funny like that.
Venture cards with a 10K or higher credit line may receive a Venture X upgrade offer.
Capital One changed their Venture’s network from Visa to Mastercard, and they don’t allow product changes between networks. The Venture being a world elite Mastercard actually makes the card a lot better (actual travel protections), but yeah can’t product change to the X. Which I’m not sure why anyone would want to when they’d miss the welcome offer.
I guess what I should do is buy $1,300 worth of gift cards from walmart before the 5% turns in to 1.5%......
Good afternoon Ben. I currently have 2 US bank cards, the shoppers card and the altitude go, they are stoping from 1cent per point to 0.080 so for 10,000 instead of $100 now I get $80. I do slot of restaurant shopping and gas, do you recommend the custom cash or the new strata premier?
That point devaluation is ONLY for the Altitude Connect, both the Shoppers Cash and the Altitude Go will still have the same 1cpp valuation. If you get the connect you'll still be able to transfer points to the go and get 1cpp.
@@NathanCashback I called them yesterday about altitude go and they said it’s dropping on that card and my shoppers card so maybe it’s on all cards?
@@NathanCashback just called this morning Nathan and the Altitude go it’s dropping them to 0.0080 also. I’ll have to get rid of that one in that case.
It’s just exciting for them… not us
I Just Got Qualified For The Venture Card Last Week, Any Chance I Can Still Get The New Bonus 😭
I think you can call customer service and see if they can give you the bonus since you just got the card, I know other big banks do that if you just get the card and they come out with a bonus right after!!!
I try and they won't let me
Can i sign up for the Venture card and get the bonus if I already have the Venture X and just got the Savor One in April?
Yeah you can. But I think with capitol one you have to wait 6 months till you can apply for another I think
@@ohword8748 damn that hurts cuz I wanted that sign up $250 😂. Oh well, thank you though 🙏
Just got the Venture card in June, do you know if you can request to get this extra cash back bonus like some others when acquiring the card happened less than a month prior?
I was thinking the same thing….
Just got mine July 13th and I called and they told me I cannot get it
@@Shawn_ny That sucks
I got my Venture 3 days ago, and they told me no.. I applied 1 day too late.
Is this in relation to Capital One and Discover merger?
If I got the Venture X 2 years ago, am I eligible for the bonus on the Venture card? I used to have a Venture card years ago, but downgraded to the VentureOne to make room for the Venture X. And would this affect any future welcome offers for the Venture X? I think C1 has a 48 month rule like Chase?
Every 48 months you can
Can you apply to Venture if you already have the venture X?
Yes 👍 I did it recently
I've never been a fan of Capital One's credit cards.
Is it possible some WM customer who has Cap1 WM card, sometimes decide to leave without doing any transaction? Just Kidding!
😆😆😆😆😆
I don't get it.
