PLEASE make a video showing a breakdown of redeeming flights and hotels with capital one points especially through partnered airlines. It is so confusing on flying blue and Turkish airlines.
One thing they have not mentioned is that there is no 5x on airlines booked through Capital One Travel. That means it will be 2x irrespective of where you are booking it from.
Guess my Chase Sapphire Preferred is still better IMO as its nearest competitor.
The CSP is much better. 3X on dining too adds up. And primary car rental CDW.
@@soapa4279what bank do you recommend me getting a credit card from?? Idk I was thinking chase
Regarding the downside of the Venture card you mentioned, you can simply get the no annual fee Savor One card to cover the Venture card's missing 3x dining and grocery categories.
That and product change your card after the first year
It was worth it for the 75k SUB. Now that the SUB offer is gone, it's a pretty useless card imo. I'm upgrading to Venture X next year most likely
Just a heads up, its super easy to schedule a Global Entry interview now (I'm writing this comment in July 2024). I booked an appointment 3 days after I got my approval which was just 1 day after I applied for Global Entry
It’s really a crapshoot. My wife and I apply for global entry last October. I was approved in 48 hours. She was approved seven months later while we were on vacation in Jamaica. Now the interview is easy because typically you can be interviewed on the spot when returning to the United States right at the booth when coming back to customs. The global entry website is telling people to expect delays of 15 months before approval.
Great video John!
Capital One is really giving Chase a run for their money in terms of welcome bonuses and credits. I still think the Venture falls short of the Venture X in terms of long term travel benefits, but this is definitely a nice beginner travel credit card.
Since the 75K mile welcome bonus is the same for both Venture and VX, you can always upgrade the Venture card to the VX later on if you feel that you want to take advantage of the VX benefits.
Deciding what to choose between the Venture and CSP will be an interesting argument for quite some time I think.
Waiting to get the option to upgrade!
Most atrocious customer support in existence.
@@stealthydaud5810I have heard plenty of stories about C1 customer support being horrific. Haven’t needed to call their customer support team yet, but hopefully I won’t need to for a while.
Question what do you think of Santander Ultimate cash back card❓ 🤔
Been with Capital One for awhile Just got approved for this card honestly should’ve went for the X but I don’t travel enough to justify the $395 annual fee
Can we double dip on the travel credit with the venture x too?
John, can you talk about PNC credit cards? I’m looking to apply for their cash rewards since it has such great cash back percentages
John, please recommend a no annual fee credit card which will enable users to get the maximum advantage in Walmart stores. Other than the Walmart credit card.
Probably those 2x cards like citi or wells fargo
Maybe like wells fargo active cash? For points its provably this card
I would say venmo credit card 3% cash back or AAA daily advantage for Walmart 5% cash back
I believe venmo credit card counts walmart as grocery
Either a rotating category card like Discover It card rn which gives you 5/10x on grocery including walmart or a catch all card 2x card like wells fargo active or co venture depending what type of strategy or ecosystem you like the most but theres plenty of decent options
I have the quicksilver card and been wanting to get the venture x but they haven't done a 90k offer in some time now, would this be a good alternative to go with then upgrade to venture x?
In my opinion, the welcome bonuses for both the Venture and VX are the same, so I would go with whatever of the 2 that fits comfortably with your budget. You can always upgrade to VX later on if you want. Keep in mind that the benefits of the VX will outweigh the Venture long term.
I’ve had my Venture card for almost 2yrs, is there anyway to upgrade to the Venture X?
All you have to do is have a good payment history, lower balance...and ASK! I upgraded from a regular Cap One card to Venture in less than 3 minutes. The CSR was awesome and very helpful.
@@kevinadams9468 The only offer I got through the app was to go to the new Venture One card, I got the regular Venture card and I wanna go to the X. But imma wait to go a few months with a 0 balance lol. I wanna switch my regular platinum to a savior card as well
You need a 10K cl in order to be offered the Venture X upgrade.
I've had a Venture card for years. Is there a way to get the sign on bonus again? Maybe call it a 'loyalty bonus'?
Wait, wait how can you transfer Capital One points to JetBlue JetBlue is not a partner. I would love to find this out as I have 90,000 points collecting dust and I fly JetBlue a lot.
Ive seen other videos where you talk about the WF autograph card. I have the WF signature card which gives a 1.75x multiplier for travel points. Any idea if the 3x autograph points can combine with signature travel bonus? This would give a 4.75x point bonus on travel!!! And on zero annual fee.
Hey guys!
Should I get a credit card online from discover it or should I get a credit card from my local bank? I'm hungarian
I am outsider too.. My first card is discovery.. chase didn't approved my credit card yet
I am outsider too.. discovery is my first card.. chase didn't approved my card yet
I wish Capital One would approve me for Ventures but they keep saying my debt to income is to high even though I am saving so well to work on it
i went for the venture one and immediately regretted it thinkin it was the card that started at 5k limit. Lord have mercy.
I want for the savor one and it was only a 300$ limit😭
@angelojr8074 you got a $300 limit on your savor one credit card?. Wow mine is at $7750
@@angelojr8074I got a $2000 limit with the savor one
@@angelojr8074Mine was $2,000 and my Venture $7,000. Is your credit young?
I feel like I got denied venture x because I had venture. Don’t know for certain. Decided to downgrade to venture one. Maybe that was foolish but I already got a 2% from citi.
How do you like Venture One
Nope zero annual is still better.
Smol brain
@@Hemingway97 why smol brain?
There's a 0 annual fee version
Who would be the partners of chase if you want to fly united ? Similar to the example of delta and virgin Atlantic in your redeeming Amex points video
Chase transfers to United. Popular partners are Aeroplan, Turkish, and Avianca
I need to get venture x i fly from cali to texas every 2 months or even a month
Do it ! Lol
Why showing or using only one way flights as examples? I’m not staying there 😂 I want to come back too. And one way tickets are more expensive than round trip tickets 😅
@@Jw4be because when it comes to using points for travel you get better redemptions for 2 one way tickets as opposed to 1 round trip ticket
Hİ I AM NOT A US CITIZEN, IS THERE A PROBLEM IF I WRITE THE EIN NUMBER OF MY COMPANY IN THE USA IN THE REQUESTED SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER SECTION
Youre wrong bro, its not $95 out of pocket, because you also get 10,000 points annually. At minimum that is $100.
So effectively, with the $300 travel credit + $100 annual credit, theyre paying 'you' $5/yr to keep it.
$250? I got $300
This is the venture, not venture X. The signup bonus is $250 credit and 75k points
I need this card
