The most impressive thing to me is taking that last turn at 40 mph. I take turns at 20 mph and feel like the back wheel is going to jump out lol. And that pass on the outside going up the hill? Balls of steel. Great stuff.
@@nsant me too, I've done decently well club racing my R6 and anything over about 20mph in a turn im scared to death lol. I've also crashed my bicycle and broke my collarbone a few years ago
Great video. and your quality is just getting better and better. the drone shots. love it. hope the collarbone's healing up well. Also, what a beautiful course through that neighbourhood
I always hated crits and circuit races because of the high risk and crazy crashes. Thank you for posting this insanity. It's really fun to watch, and gets my blood pressure up with that conditioned race anxiety.
Please upload the unedited full race footage of this race if you have it. Again, it is amzing to watch this stuff while smashing intervals on the trainer.
Another awesome win for Ryan and TMB! This time it was determined by skill.. and yes.. power. That inside pass on Chris and the set-up going into the hill might as well have been done on a dirty singletrack. Very impressive throughout!
Great course. Every year, everybody’s there. Great drivetrain choice, race decisions, earned win. Thanks for the production work, Jeff, and for posting. Consistently great content, lessons, and production quality 👍
Just a small suggestion (it might be a bad idea) but could you mirror the rear view camera. That way, it would be like in a car rear view mirror. When you see a rider coming up on the left side of the rear view, it will then come on the left side of the main (front view). Anyway, just an Idea like that only me and maybe 3 other people might notice haha. Good videos, I love seeing them as I still have snow outside.
perfect video very nice done with all those shots and angles, and stunning but really stunning surrounding, you live just perfect there, looks like the weather was just as perfect to, all in all perfect day perfect video really enjoyd this one, cheers up from the netherlands
Not really a big (National) race but one of my favorite wins! What a course! Not for the meek. There was a lot of hay on the last turn when I raced it and I felt both tires slide into the gutter. Some guys would shift to the little ring for it…big mistake!
NorCal Cycling Technical University! When are inscriptions open LOL?! Keep up the quality content, Jeff. Hope we get a chance to ride if you guys ever do a Girona training camp...
Hello, I'm from Paris, France. Do you know if there are training criteriums like the ones regularly presented on this channel in the region? Thank you!
I'm about to have my first road race(Flat) in June 3. I have good fitness uhmm. It will be a 30km race and the bike I gonna use is trinx climber 2.0 is it good?
Rode this in the 80's. 7-11 team was regular. Eric Heiden dropped his chain in middle of the hill. He turned around, rolled to bottom, set the chain, and rode back up the hill in the saddle. Two laps later he was in the pack.
Is there a reason why race organizers can't set up a proper finishing straight in these crits? The road is there, the finish line could have been 150m later...
@@chrisko6439 Why must be a "proper sprint" for the finish? Why can't it be a finish which rewards technique, smarts and power instead of just power alone?
@@andrew7taylor No problem with that if it was the case every now and then. But it seems to me, these crits all have a corner 150m to the finish line. Kind of boring. It like to see a few guys really fight it out for once. They have a long straight at Alviso, but there, Jeff is usually beating the other guys by a roadtrain's length.

I road raced motorcycles. I can drag my knee on asphalt going 80+ mph, but am scared sh!tless taking turns fast on my road bike.

No pressure Jeff but i think this needs to be your new standard...

He has been an absolute monster since his first win was uploaded into your TH-cam. Best of luck on your following races!

Don’t spoil us with this amazing content. We won’t be happy with just a GoPro from now on.

Rewatching this and I could feel my heart racing on the final lap as Ryan takes these nasty sharp angles

Love watching Miles' front wheel hop in slow-mo as he chugs up that hill. 5:10
The added drone and footage from the stands sets this off Jeff. Well done as always.
Loves these race videos. consistently valuable and high quality

Been waiting for this one. Was there and saw that downhill jump on last lap. This was exciting with all the team attacks, counters,...
that pass on the hill🙌🏻🔥 crazy tight
Cat's Hill is 16% (I made an RGT route of this course).
It's so great seeing this race back!
Seems more like it, percentages are so often overestimated.
Looks nasty though
Excellent commentary and exciting racing. Appreciated the drone footage.

Sick looking helmets for this season!
Mad effort, pushed it few times over 1000W on last lap crazy power and endurance
Last turn at 43 mph is a nope from me. Well done.
Dang that red s works with those white letter Rovals was 🔥
Insanely good video production
epic drone shot there at the end!
Very Tulsa Tough’esque like with the climb to a descent to the finish.

I have been investigating how a 48t chainring plays in crits. Are any / many racers successful in crits, or really any races, with a 48t big ring?
And to finish off that first place, he hit them with the Cat. 4 salute!
Are there any traditional A to B one day races organized in in your area and would participate if you found one?
That inch gap is asking for trouble.. 😬
TIL the Cat 1 salute is a one-handed manual.
Is 2x8 good for flat road racing?

there are 18%climbs in my loop that look much steeper than that "23%".
