    The best part of the video is when (presumably) Sean's mother hugs him at the end. Such an underrated feeling to have the support of family.

    Time to rewrite the channel motto - 'Slow is Smooth, Sean is Fast'. Absolute animal of a leadout by Ryan!

  • @TheTmoney925
    @TheTmoney925 ปีที่แล้ว +54

    Glad to see the video. Obviously, looking at it after the fact gives great insight. Our original plan was to take over late and go over the top. I think that could have worked had I checked to ensure the team was in tow... Instead, I ended up giving Ryan a breather so he could take one last pull. I should have let Ryan sit on the front and launched out of the chicane but again, a bit of a fumble on our part for not checking I had the team lined on my wheel. Always fun racing against the TMB Purple bros

    Ryan's pedalling looks so friggen smooth..slow cadence big power type of rider! Awesome to see.

    Thanks for doing this Jeff and EJ. Very entertaining. Ryan is a beast and what a wheel to follow. Such a great team effort all around.

  • @ESPSJ
    @ESPSJ ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Ryan is one of the smoothest riders out there, what a beast. He knew that taking the lead would set up Sean if no one else was going to do it, so he stepped up and took control.

    3 things:
    1. I would hate to race on wet roads, not only because of the increased risk of going down, but because I hate having water and grime spat in my face all day from the wheel in front of me.
    2. I hope someone bought that Terun rider a cup of coffee after the race for the brief leadout of his opposition (not sure what he was thinking there getting on the front).
    3. Congrats on the win

    Congrats to Sean and the team for showing how it is done! The kid is a beast! Also way to go Sean for the mega pro move of the several courteously wipes of the camera while racing.😁

    Great videos! I wrote you many times asking for some advice and also emailed you.
    But this time I have a little advice for you.
    Please, use a teammate after your sprinter guy. I'm a sprinter, and when I have a teammate behind me, this strategy avoids all the fights with the other riders who wanna jump on my train.
    enjoy the ride!

  • @BeyReaper
    @BeyReaper ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Shaun must be incredibly light to be going 38 mph without breaking 1000 watts

    • @SpicyTrifongo
      @SpicyTrifongo ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be drag coefficient and not weight making you push hard at speed.
      unless you're talking about his time accelerating to 38mph.

    • @BeyReaper
      @BeyReaper ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SpicyTrifongo I think it may be both. I mention it because, while I don’t know Shaun’s exact height, he looks generally a lot like my heigh and I’ve never been able to reach those speed despite being able to reach slightly higher powers. Now, while I’m pretty certain I’m significantly heavier then Shaun I’ve also never had a 20 something mph lead-out so thats probably a contribution too.

    • @SpicyTrifongo
      @SpicyTrifongo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeyReaper weight has almost no effect on sustained flatland speed.
      Weight will hamper acceleration and make hills more difficult.
      If anything being heavier with the same drag coeffecient would mean you have more KE to be dissipated by drag, meaning you'd hold the speed longer.
      Also for all we know he has a huge tail wind.
      I've never had a leadout like that but I know when I'm solo to hit and hold 32-35mph over a flat quarter mile I need to peak at around 900-1000w and average 600-750w.
      I'm on a 2022 Pinarello Paris so a very good bike but probably not quite as good as Shaun's especially if he's got carbon rims and tubeless or latex.

    The chili pepper crit! Every region has several hotdog crits. Not many have a chili pepper crit. Have you made a vid summarizing your return to fitness post crash? I'd be curious to know when you felt like your fitness was 100% back...vs when you felt like your 'race legs' were 100% back. Just like the do's and don'ts of fitness recovery.
