It's always a joy when your videos come out! Hot take on "The Deer Hunter"; I find it kinda off, though superbly done. I thought "Apocalypse Now" did a better job grappling with the political aspects of the Vietnam War while "Platoon" was a better straightforward grunt's eye view. DH seemed to me to be uncomfortably straddling both approaches in a way that was ultimately unsatisfying, despite all the huge skill involved. But I might well be nuts. 😉 Thanks so much for your great work!

😘
Deer Hunter isn’t a war film. It’s about a community and a group of friends. Living in a steel town during the war.

Couldn't disagree with you more about Annie Hall. . . but that's how the Arts are: everyone's tastes are so different.
