All looking pretty solid! Griot's the unsung hero in this test being so cheap and available everywhere. If you can look past the lack of slickness and little bit smeary/finicky installation, the durability has always been fantastic!
If applied by spraying on an applicator like a ceramic coating, 2 layers 12 hours apart it does much better with little to no streaking. Maintain with a ceramic detailer to keep it from clogging and it is a monster. Nice to see ADS recognize fellow gangstas lol
I remember when it came out the reviews said it was smeary... it reminded me of megs hybrid blue bottle stuff... but I never tried it so I don't know...
Great update Jamie! Resist is currently a 3-year-old formula so its great to see products we released even before others were around on these panels holding strong. Griots Ceramic Spray was our benchmark for durability but we wanted to top both slickness, application and usability. We have some new things in store for you very soon, can't wait to see what you think!
Holy shit dude, I purchased the diy ceramic gloss and man I tell you, it does a really good job. I didn’t even knew anything about this company and now it’s my favorite. Thanks to you 👍
Nicely done comparison test on these spray sealants. Griot’s and Resist are clearly the winners with the most durable protection. I have been using Griot’s 3-In-1 Wax for a couple years. Very easy to apply and adding a 2nd layer after 24-hours makes the protection even better.
Really surprised about BC3. Your honesty is so appreciated, week after week. I agree with other poster - you deserve more subs! And you were super busy on like 100 podcasts!!! Keep on killing it
You and Hawaii detailing have really sparked some curiosity with the sealants. Maybe a series on the easiest accessible sealant showdown. Suds lab, Jay Leno, and griots.
There's something suspect to me about Suds Lab. They out-of-nowhere showed up on the market only in Wal-Mart one day. At first I thought it was their own brand because of this.
Glad to see Griots holding up! I put it on my 4Runner about four months ago and it’s still going strong but it gets parked in the garage so has some added protection 😂
I used the Griots hulk juice on my mom's car while I was I was visiting her in Florida. Works very well, I did her whole car in it, including the rims. A good off the shelf product.
Hey Jamie, have you tried NV Lustre before? Just dug a bottle out of the back of my cabinet today and used on a car after a polish. This stuff is the boss of gloss with excellent slickness. I stopped using it a while back as i bought new products to try. Definitely moving it to the front of my shelf.
I don't have any smarts when it comes to chemistry or surface energy or any of that stuff...but I have a theory. Are the squares that hold soap doing so because of an interaction between the sealant characteristics and the chemistry of the soap? Or are they holding onto the soap because they are dirtier than the other areas? Notice that once you do the contact wash, they don't hold onto it as much. I wonder what would happen if you foamed it again after the contact wash. BTW...I just did a wash at the 7 month mark of my DB36 coating that has only seen pH neutral soap and rinseless. I did a light dilution of BH Touch-Less as a prewash today and the beading/self-cleaning is still like day one. The coating is bare naked and has never seen a topper or sealant of any sort.
I went on a sealant spree last weekend, Just got Ethos Resist & Ceramic Refresh v2.0 in today and I ordered Koch Chemie so.02 & gtechniq ceramic sealant from the rag company’s Memorial Day sale plus another bottle of alchemist Crowne…gonna compare them all plus the sealants I’ve been using lately which are Yum Ceramic, ADS, Ceramic Gloss and Crowne…I also use quick beads and hydr02 lite pretty often I’m curious to see how they hold up in testing
Not surprised the BC3 is failing or not as robust as the other sealants. I’m having issues with my current bottle of BC4 as it’s not performing as well as my previous bottles of bc4 so maybe it was part of a bad batch or formula changed? And yes I realize mine is a glass sealant and bc3 is paint sealant but seem to use the same vase chemistry.
@@JamieTheCleaner in my case the new glass bottle version is the problem whereas the plastic bottle batches worked great. Got a new windshield last week new applicator full decon and had ti apply it 3 times and still not as slick nor hydrophobic as the other windows. Car soap pulls on the windshield but other glass flys off with the older version
Personally I wouldn’t top a coating with one of these unless it’s fading. My car with Mohs Evo performs better than all these sealants. I only top it with short lived detailers like Armour Amplify.
I think that BC3 isn't in the same category as some of the others. It's more of a short-term-topper (according to Brian from Apex, 2 months) while the others are designed for 6+ months. Great video and the squares are very interesting. It will be interesting to see people's thoughts on this.
Griots is going to get a lot of sales from this showdown, it just always does very well on most testing it. (Goat) Jamie replace BC 3 with BC9 moving forward on any other sealant tests you may decide to do, also you may want to consider Armour Phobic, - Phoenix Immortial, - Geyon Q² CanCoat EVO. There toppers for each of theses products go hand in hand with there sealant. Griots / Ceramic Seed Shine, - Armour / Amplify, - Phoenix / Titan, - Geyon / WetCoat or Ceramic Detail spray - Apex BC 3 as topper for BC9
Talking about your soap dilution being 20:1...I tried Action Products hyper foam this weekend. I had okay, kind of runny foam at 1000:1 but my god did it get impressive at 250:1 !

How was the groits to install? Ease of use is big for me since i over top my vehicle(probably too much)... I obviously dont want my sealants to fail instantly but ease of use , gloss, and slickness are my top 3... forgot beading ... 1.5 maybe..😂
@armourdetailsupply i have them all besides griots. Anything I can buy at autozone seems skeptical but maybe not... btw the scent on your detail is great..used it yesterday
I wonder if holding onto the soap is a good thing or a bad thing? Maybe some types of contaminants will stick better. Could be the “tackiness” of those products.
I'm almost out of Resist, and I have brand new bottles of the worst two performers to try next. Cool!😂 I know how to pick them. Lol. As they say, your results may vary. This is a great test, and the outcome has been very interesting.
That fling to cling ratio on that Labo soap was impressive! I’m confused about ADS and Ceramic Gloss. I’ve used both and have gotten better longevity on daily driven vehicles on the order of months. Really strange, great video nonetheless!
It's about time I Sub'd to your channel, Jamie. I'm not sure why I haven't tbh. I've still got some Hulk juice, I might revisit it. I kinda got frustrated with the application and didn't seem to have as much gloss as Gtechiq C2. The carnauba wax probably gives the Hulk plenty of muscle in this test. 💪
@@chrisbradley3224 what were you trying to strip it for? Only reason I’d strip personally was if I was going to apply a coating so I would polish anyway. I’m not there yet though

Man, I’m a little disappointed in DIY Ceramic Gloss. I thought it would be doing way better than this. I can say that I use it, and I’ve experienced better results than this.
