Moxxie had no problem killing he just doesn't feel comfortable killing innocent people and fell in love with Millie for her killing prowess. Still weird but apparently he's alone on that hang up

I also think he has a problem with killing children. Like, in the pilot, he had no problem aiming his gun at that one woman in the park but was absolutely horrified when he accidentally shot a child. And he had no problem shooting Martha once she revealed herself to be evil, bit still wouldn't kill the kids.
He’s probably the character in Helluva Boss with the most intact moral system (except like... baby Octavia) he’s still an awful person, but for hell he’s a good person
@@Niskara There's more to it than that, the most recent episode explains his aversion to families specifically, it's not about him being a kid, just about being the wrong target.
I mean, Charlie was born in Hell and has morals so it's really not suprising that Imps like Moxxie, who were born in Hell as well, can have them, too.

They orchestrate the all scene to let everything be in plain sight but they keep our attention focused on the happy and lovely family in front of us for let all the alarming details in the background slip under our eyes without we noticing a thing.

In the pilot Moxxie said they couldn't afford a billboard and now in episode 1 they have a billboard. Which implies that their business kicked off from the pilot enough for them to purchase a billboard. Also Blitzo says he just bought the eels.
I don't know it just seems to take place after the pilot.

In his line of work, those are pretty important.
It's not unreasonable for Moxie to have morals, regardless of his career there are plenty of killers in the real world who have a strict moral code and would refuse to kill women or children.
They're still murderers and kill people but even people like that have their limits and I think Moxie is the same boat.
Also a little bit of lore for you,there are two separate entities in hell you have demons and then you have sinners, demons are born in hell they were never human and are basically just the inhabitants of hell, things like Imps, hellhounds, charlie, and such are demons.
Sinners were humans at one point who lived a life of sin died and then went to hell, when you die and go to hell in this universe you take a form that represents your sins in life.
Most of the characters or designed based on their life is humans a perfect example is Alastor.
From what we know about him he was a radio host in New Orleans and that contributes a lot to his design why he's a radio demon and a lot of his design is based on voodoo and such.
Like in the scene where he's singing for Charlie he plays jazz and a lot of the designs of the shadows he summoned are similar to voodoo dolls having stitches and some having x's for their eyes and so on
I don't get why so many people find it difficult to believe, or find it confusing that a demon would have morals, or that they can die.
I guess a lot of people watching this don't actually consider how things work in fantasy and there is a lot more nuance
You know the teacher was a good person, she afterall didn't turn bad until *after* she caught her husband cheating on her.
Also I don't think she was aware of this at the time, but her students were the closest she had to children, she technically did have a family.
Those children did call Martha a hero though, so she'd probably disown them anyway
Considering how much they pull from real-world demon mythology, it wouldn't surprise me if she ended up in Hell because she committed suicide. Murdering her husband and attempting to kill Martha likely contributed to that (especially since she did all of it _right in front of her students_ thanks to the video call), but suicide itself is also considered to be a sin in some branches of Christianity, to the extent that in earlier eras (as recent as the 1800s in parts of England) they weren't even given proper burials.
The fact that I.M.P. was more than happy to let Lyle Lipton kill himself in Episode 4, with Blitzø saying he was "doing their job for them" when they were hired to make sure he ended up in Hell, suggests that suicide in the Hazbin-verse is something that greatly increases your chances of going to Hell after death.

The most likely case is that (given their line of work DEPENDS on the use of Stola´s Grimore), that the reason for the special signal is to HIDE IT [or to run away with it, or to distract Stolas while others do it]. It has nothing to do with his behavior, but rather it is "standard security protocol" for their company.

@@simoneval2619 well, lucifer does show signs of being a bad parent. protective parent, yes, but NOT a good parent. yeah, he made bodyguards for charlie, but considering that phone call, he absolutely verbally abuses charlie. and considering the lengths charlie goes through with how she phrases everything, it's pretty clear we can trust whatever charlie says to be a true statement. she seems to go out of her way to find true statements rather than lie, which isn't something anyone would do in such a toxic environment like hell unless they absolutely were not capable of telling a lie

Talking about people in hell with morals being weird. If this is like, supposed to be the christian hell or something, read the bible sometime, you'll find out that you can go to hell for the simplest of things. Even just wearing the wrong color of shirt while walking in the park could probably get you sent straight to hell. Like, just the smallest things we all consider perfectly normal.
So i might be wrong but I go to Catholic School and my Religion teacher said that what the Catholic Church teaches that when you die you can have the disecion to join Heaven or Hell and even if you commit murder you can still go to heaven. You just go to purgatory first. And if never commited any sin you still have the choice to go to hell. Also this is just what she said. Dont at me pls. And remember this is Catholic teaching, other religions teach different things

Actually the teacher's actions are 100% justified. It's just there's this ongoing thing in a lot of media these days where there's this idea that heaven either doesn't exist or is inaccessible and no matter what you do you just go straight to hell regardless of religion, morals, ethics, etc; There's just no good place.

I feel like this episode is directly responsible for their behavior in the pilot, The boss's distaste for Moxxie, Millie's drop from telling Moxxie how it is to her just being supportive of Moxxie, her trying to disengage the two when they fight, and even Blitzo constantly hawking their relationship would feel like a direct byproduct too, it suddenly makes Moxxie's distaste, dislike, and so on of Blitzo make sense.
ESPECIALLY with the threat Blitz sends at Moxxie near the end.
Problem is, there's a few details that imply this is AFTER the pilot, like the billboard early in the episode when they go outside, but I suppose that could've been bought before which is why Moxxie knows why they can't afford one.
(Also can we take a moment to appreciate that before the guns came out, we got hints they were a cannibal family in the background)
As interesting as that head canon is, I’m pretty sure this is meant to be after the pilot, and Blitz following them around seems to be him just trying to be friends in a very inappropriate way, after all he views his employees as family.
Also thanks for pointed out the cannibal hints, I didn’t notice that before.
I think these things are just examples of the same things that caused the dislike in the pilot. There's no reason this has to be first. All of the same emotions happened in the pilot - Moxie screwed up, Blitz is a jerk, Millie tried to prevent fighting between them. Both iterations feel like outward signs of a much longer working relationship.
Also that phone on the ground was still stolas talking through about what he was gonna do to blitzo lol he never stopped 😭😂🤣
Here's the thing about Moxie having morals and having not been screened out.
Blitzo's the one that did the screening. The guy is not the brightest crayon in the box. That should all that really needs to be said.
But, for a more complete answer, it's probably because Millie is just so good at her job and Moxie just came along with the package deal since they're married, so I think Blitzo tolerates Moxie just because Millie is his MVP and he needs her.
My favorite fan theory about Stolas is that the censorship over his dirtier lines isn't the show runners doing it. He's doing the censoring himself. He does dislike bad language after all.
Well, the actor didn’t. Normally actors just speak gibberish for the things that are supposed to get bleeped out, but the VA who does Stolas went to town with a three minute explicit rant of all the stuff he wanted to do to Blitz and the reverse, and the team sat there with jaws dropped. All that stuff HAD to be bleeped, except for the bit about the jelly sandwiches.

Deliverance and Resident Evil? Lol. Well I don't think so. Now I see where you are coming from with thoughts of Resident Evil 7, but let me explain. Firstly the talk of 'rabbits' comes from the Firefly family featured in Rob Zombie's Firefly trilogy. They are a family of serial killers that let people loose on their farm to hunt down. Calling them rabbits for fun. The children scene with Moxie is inspired directly by the dinner scene in Leatherface. Which features the Sawyer family. A family of cannibals that also make furniture out of their victims. Especially with that chair Moxie is tied to. I don't believe I have to explain more of that iconic movie. However I will point out the Easter Egg of a wheelchair and urn sitting at the dinner table at the start. Clearly supposed to be Grandpa. After all he might be dead, but 'he's the best at kill'in'. As the Sawyer's would say. Lol. I believe there are other references. However pinning down the cult scene toward the end is hard. It could be a few different sources given the totem, hanging ornaments and speech given. Nothing is particularly jumping out as a direct reference.
Crazy plot twist, end of hazbin, or be the first patron, moxie attends the hotel lol.

I'm pretty sure the show doesn't censor Stolis because of what he says. After all they don't censor anything else, including what Angel Dust says on Hazbin. I'm sure they censor Stolis for the comedic value of censoring him. Because it makes you wonder: what is he saying that this show has to censor him.

The pilot came out on Halloween and now the first ep has as well :) oh excuse me it was hazbin that came out on oct 28 of last year but still this is neat :) and Mara Wilson who was Matilda as a little girl is the teacher :)

Also if you notice the condom was not opened, which I think implies that Martha’s two kids may not be her husbands.

Take a really good look at the background behind Martha at 12:36 ... when she tossed the glass to the floor we can see the kitchen behind her and the fridge door is ajar due to the human arm hanging out of it.

Agreed, my head canon is that Martha used sex to lure the men to her family's Cabin in the Wood where she and her family would kill and eat them, then make their skin and bones into décor.

And I don't mean the cosmetic ones like her pants getting ripped when we saw them w/no rips just a few moments earlier. One thing catch my attention and can not be accidental= Martha's earrings, when she caught Blitzo she was wearing same earrings she's worn through most of show: tourqiuse chunky & triangular but when at the bonfire she has small skull earrings. One is a bird and the other looks like a rodent.
Funn fact... birdperson, i'm 65% shoor he has a cloaka. So the zensouring was probably deliberat to keep us guessing.
Keep in mind: Blitzo is voiced by the same guy who does Blah Blah the Clown.
