The "Ace In The Hole" line was a nod to Alastor canonically being aro/ace (Asexual & Aromantic). However, Alastor didn't get the joke as he died in the early 1930's when those classifications of sexuality didn't exist.
That makes sense. Although now I'm wondering how Rosie knew it since she seemed like she was there longer than Alistor (based on the Victoria clothes).
most likely from the other warlords/cannibals.
@@Airier
I think all the other overlords kept up with modern terms but alastor hates things that came after he died so he probably doesn't know about it at all
I’m pretty sure Rosie is Hellborn
@@constructking8850no since she's a overlord she needs to be a sinner, only sinners can become overlords
The fact that Rosie is so comfortable around Alastor, grabbing him/his suit, swinging him, happy dance, knowing how hes aro/ace. Just shows the absolute bestie bond they have. She definitely taught him what 'Tea' meant
Yeah as he’s not a fan of touching unless it’s from those close to him or he initiates it
There's a theory going around that Alastor detests men, but has no problem with women. We've never seen him hard a woman (outside the overlords where there was something to gain). How he treats Charlie, Nifty, Mimzie, Rosie, etc. and compare this to how he behaves with Lucifer, Husker, Vox, etc. I believe it's rumored he was a momma's boy in life and was severely beaten by his father.
@@TriEdge7274 i wouldn’t say he detests men but that he was raised to be nicer to females then males
@@TriEdge7274ok but the idea of Alistor of all people being a mama’s boy is extremely amusing
Him/his ? the f this mean
when Alastor was saying Rosie is the most dangerous he also said "this side of the pentagram" but it doesn't mean they both are from the same side of the pentagram
Alastor doesnt like to swear, but the mere thought of Susan made him be like "Urgh, that b*tch"
Yeah, I think in the show we only hear him curse like 4 times, and twice was to Adam.
@@XFizzlepop-Berrytwist technically 5 if we count the song at the end
I don't think that counts if it's a group song@@Kaarl_Mills
Once was Lucifer, then Rosie, then twice with Adam... right?

In her song, Charlie started by making the call to defend their people, then talked about travel, and camaraderie. Basically, she's using all the strategies used in military TV ads trying to encourage people to enlist.
That is horrifyingly real
I hear like 70% of reactors mention it being like the military recruitment ads, so I was surprised
Edit: surprised that he didn't*

They acknowledged Susan with the same energy as retail workers who deal with the problem customer .
A repeat problem customer
As someone who used to work in retail in a grocery store, I totally agree
I just realized most cannibal murders where know as nice pleasant upstanding people till they where found out
A way to get more victims. But there are those who resorted to cannibalism to survive and I know cannibalism used to be (and might still be) a thing with isolated indigenous tribes and civilizations in the past.
@@DarthDragon007 and non isolated ones. It's a common urban legend where I live that pozole used to be made of person (probably not true but everyone has heard that one 😂)

24:50 before the “reveal” of Vaggie being a former exorcist in episode 6, for as much as I wanted to believe the theory, I had my reservations. The biggest one was why was Vaggie’s hair so long? I say this, because it’s customary for most soldiers to have to keep their hair as short as possible, so it doesn’t impede their performance. So then, why would Vaggie-a presumed exorcist-have long hair that would affect her combat performance? She even complained to Carmilla, “I’m not use to fighting with long hair,” so she knows her technique has suffered with it being that long.
But then I came to the conclusion, I think she grew it out to cope with no longer having her wings. Her hair’s length is about as long as her former wingspan. There was also the part where Vaggie sang in “Whatever it Takes” in episode 3, she went up to the ship on the roof of the hotel. My guess is since she could no longer fly, it was the closest substitute for getting to still be that high up. These small behaviors show how she clings to the past. I’m glad she reclaimed her wings though.
I did think it was funny though, after she says that about her hair, Carmilla throws shade at her when she proceeds to let her hair down, basically telling Vaggie “that’s no excuse, I can do it just fine” 💀
I also think her growing out her hair was because she was convinced by Charlie that she didn’t need to fight anymore and so she didn’t need to cut her hair.
She might just want to break from her past tbh, she has no need to keep it short anymore and she probably wants nothing to do with the traditional behaviours of exorcists. Obviously she does still have some mannerisms like reaching for drill training in the 3rd ep but it's easier to change your hair than your personality or past.
After episode 3, given their similar skin color, hair color, character designs, Vaggie's angelic spear matching the ones Carmilla's daughters had in the pilot, and duet from episode 3, I assumed that Vaggie was another one of Carmilla's daughters.
After episode 6, my theory is that Carmilla is also a fallen angel - an older one, not as old as the Sins, but maybe around the time when Zestial died, hence their friendship. Which would explain her having daughters in hell since Sinners can't reproduce.
long hair might have also been her way of claiming individuality and freedom. it's not unknown for vets to do that, especially those who disagree with the wars they fought in, or otherwise resent the government.
It's cool how early you noticed Alastor's demeanor change the instant Rosie was around.
Yeah she's 100% his comfort person, perhaps the only person that he truly likes to be around.
When she went over not just to forcefully hug him, but pick him up and spin him around and basically manhandle him, which normally he would *absolutely hate,* he instead seemed to be genuinely happy, and the sound effect that played was the noise that a baby deer makes when it is very happy.
This entire sequence was also the only time we see Alastor *actively take a back seat as a side character* to not just one, but two whole characters, something he has never once done in the entirety of the show. Alastor's entire complex is that he despises being a side character.
His duet portion of the song with Rosie is also the only time he's ever done a duet, and not just a duet, but a duet in the background of the main theme. And, near the end of the song, when singing about Charlie's potential and power, Alastor lost focus and started staring at Charlie with those possessive, manipulative, Alastor eyes of his, and Rosie immediately yoinked him out of it back into the song, as if to say "Down boy, one thing at a time", and not only did he let her do it, but he seemed extremely happy to be back into the song with Rosie.
Rosie clearly keeps him calm, and dare I say, mentally stable. Quite wholesome. Apparently they canonically have tea parties on the weekends usually, until he disappeared.
He did seem to genuinely like Mimzy, but he's also not willing to let her mess up whatever he has planned. To the point that he's willing to push her away to protect his plans.
I wonder how he'd act if Rosie put herself in the way of his plans.
@@DoctorOaks Don't forget Nifty they seem to be the only demons who accept all the other ones antics. Additionally he lets her touch him without protest.
So in episode 5 season 1 of helluva boss, the rifle moxie finds is called a "carmine blessed tipped rifle". That rifle was made by the exact overlord helping vaggie.
Specifically, "Carmine-crafted, blessing-tipped rifle".
@@HunhowsShadowStalker I assume it's made by her company rather than her specifically.
Carmilla is a producer of angelic steel…
Back in episode 5 you were wondering why Alastor hates Lucifer so much
In cannibal town, Alastor says in the song “she’s filled with potential that I can guide”
We have no idea what Alastor is really after, but whatever his plan is, Charlie is at the center of it.
Lucifer is confirmed to be more powerful than Alastor, so having Lucifer getting close to Charlie again threatens his plan, not only because Lucifer can defeat him in a fight, but also because Lucifer has that emotional connection with Charlie and he’ll keep her from falling down the wrong path
That makes sense. I wonder what his final plan is, or if it really is to get in good with the next leader. 🤔
@@Airiermy interpretation (thus far) is that Alastor sees Lucifer as an irresponsible buffoon. He may not believe that a damned soul can be redeemed, but he does believe Charlie has the chops to be a worthy ruler. With his help of course.
@@Airierdon’t forget Alastor is under someone else’s control (he made a deal) so maybe he’s going to use the favor to get out of his deal.
Ik this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the conversation but I absolutely love your pfp! RWBY GANG FOR LIFE!
(Also wouldn’t hurt for some RWBY reactions from this channel I think he’d love it)
I think I heard a theory that Alastair has a contract with Lilith, since they were both gone for 7 years. So he may be wanting a deal with Charlie so that she could help break the contract.
The wings were ripped off, not cut with an angelic weapon. If you notice her eye was cut out with an angelic weapon and did not grow back. From what I gather her shame and fear of Charlie finding out caused her wings to not come back.
Or maybe she changed from being an exorcist angel to a guardian angel
Thought that, too, but then, how did Lute rip off her wings without using an angelic weapon?
@@Furyaki12 Lute is fairly strong. I think she just tore them. Maybe we might get answers in the future.
@@migatito1291 cool idea
I'm sure it was angelic. Thus, why didn't Vaggie realize their weapon's didn't just harm demons but them too I don't know.@@Furyaki12
Am I the only one that, when Charlie goes "Those wings are niceeee" thinks Charlie sounds like she is up for some snuggle time?
Oh she's definitely into that, I have no doubt
She definitely gives Vaggie "The Eyes" immediately afterward.
Ah, yes, “snuggle” time.
my personal theory about cannibal town is that a lot of them died some time during the great depression, which means there's likely a lot of people there who were forced into cannibalism to survive and just wanted a calm place to call home hell, which rosie gave them, most likely in exchange for the usual soul contracts which give her enough power to protect them in turn
Remember how Husk said, Alastor is also on a leash. I think the favor he's gonna ask charlie to break that deal or something similar.
If that were the case then he would have asked her already, its clear that some things need to be prepared first and only then can he call upon that favor, or it might be something completely unrelated to his deal and will be a means to gain more power in some way.
@@falsnamae3511 no that would still harm her. She is included in the harm no one. It would be different if the phrasing was harm no one else.

My personal theory for Alastor's plan for the Hotel, is yes he wants them to suffer, but doesn't go out of his way to rig them for failure
I'd say he likes to see people fail And if the hotel fails completely, there won't be people willi g to even try. So he would be more on the line of "If i help them a bit, i'll have fun for years to come"
And he propably wants influence on Charlie+daughter of Lucifer and all)
I think that's a ruse. My theory is that he's at the hotel at the request of Lilith to shape Charlie into a proper ruler of hell - Lilith not being impressed with the mopey and depressed Lucifer (probably why she left him). And they kind of hint at this in the song "Ready for This"
[ROSIE & ALASTOR]
She's bound to pass the test as princess of Hell
Like her daddy, she is madly power-fell
[ALASTOR]
She's filled with potential that I could guide
[ROSIE]
I concur!
[ROSIE & ALASTOR]
Stick with her, you'll be on the winning side
Alastor's purpose seems to center around Charlie, and he's managed to get an I.O.U. in a deal with her. It just seems odd that Alastor is there for "entertainment" in watching sinners fail to improve when there's only ONE guest - AngelDust.
Completely agree.%100. He's on somebody's chain. Whether it be Lilith's hence the seven year absence or if that's a mislead and it turns out be a powerful new character we have yet to meet, Alastor definitely has plans that involve Charlie and his freedom. @@TriEdge7274
Carmilla: Before today did you know angels could be harmed?
Vaggie:no I didn't.
Carmilla:*cursing in spanish* "DID YOU FORGET ABOUT YOUR EYE?!"
That information was probably blocked due to trauma especially since we don’t know how deep Lute stabbed to get her eye out or it was just the trauma that caused it
Lute is another Angel so Vaggie probably thought that only Angels can harm angels
Oh ! Right...
Oh how about this number: Vaggie probably thought she was now just a sinner because she was stripped of her "angelhood" over sparing a demon, so she probably thought since the angels could harm her that she no longer counted.
@@HobGungan i think your all giving vaggie too much credit. Shes known to be a bit brash afterall.
Another example where she could've been smarter.
Carmilla::give me a reason I shouldn't silence you now."
Vaggie:"both Alastor and Charlie know you killed an Angel too so killing me just guarantees they spill the beans and Alastor literally has every Radio in hell."
"Heavens no" isn't an uncommon phrase. Though, "heaven" is used in place of "hell" quite often by demons.
I like that you’re more surprised that Alastor is swearing by heaven than he not wanting Charlie’s soul
15:22 its most likely a nod to the fact that Alistor is ace (asexual)
Makes sense.
One thing I don't see people bring up very often is that this isn't the only mention of Alastor's sexuality in Season 1. It's just the most blatant one. In episode 2, when Sir Pentious returns the scrap of cloth he stole he stole, Alastor responds with a dirty joke. "Not many people have been able to get even this much off of me."
.... I literally *just* realised what music is playing in the background when Alastor is helping Charlie persuade Rosie
19:32 I read a fanfic where Charlie realized the same thing (That she sent Vaggie (an angel) to the only person in hell who has killed an angel), and she then proceeded to freak out, before Vaggie calmed her back down.
what's the fanfic title and website?
Do you remember the title or have it saved somewhere? (Like a history tab) sounds very interesting!
Pretty please, give us a title and site. 🥺
@@GedanJ I don't remember the title. It was on ao3.
could be this one, perhaps: 'I Know An Angel When I See One' on ao3? the work number is 53647663
not like I spent the last day looking for such a fic after seeing this comment or anything lmao
8:00 "Heavens, no" might just be Hell's version of "Hell, no". XD Okay, I doubt it, but it would make sense.
Considering in Helluva Boss there's expressions like "The heaven's wrong with this thing?!", it's not impossible
It's also a phrase used irl, too.
The most well adjusted Victorian cannibal wine aunt you’d ever meet
Ah yes, a narrow superlative. Gotta love 'em
To be fair the "harming no one" is much more restricting than people believe
Charlie herself counts in that "No one" so she can't do anything that can result in her own harm, on top of that if removing the deal harms the person on the other side or Alastor gets harmed as well by the sudden removal of the contract he has then Charlie can't help him there either.
Because is such a vague and loose wording it restricts immensely the amount of utility Alastor can get out of this deal and the idea of him endangering Vaggie or someone else with him then using the deal to stop her from helping doesn't hold much utility either because if she doesn't intervene to save the person that person will get harmed thus breaking the terms of the deal
The vagueness of the deal is something I think is going to be a plot point. Either Alastor or Charlie can use it to their advantage it just depends on who has the chops to utilize it first.
I think one of the reasons why Cannibal Town was so cohesive is because there were entire societies and tribes where cannibalism was simply a part of their culture. You have outliers like Alastor, who became a cannibal in life after he made a deal with an Eldritch (?) being, or even Hannibal Lector (who Alastor reminds me of). Hell, even people who became cannibals because there was NOTHING left to eat (the survivors of the whaling ship that Moby Dick was inspired by, and the airplane crash where the survivors ate each other) would probably trauma bond. I think the tribal part shows in that the cannibals here all have a similar design to one another, unlike the wide varieties we've seen in other locations. They're also ironically the most "human" looking beings.
I love Rosie so much, she's even one of my Top 3 characters in this show. Not only she's the biggest sweetheart and a great character (with only one episode appearance!) but also because she is one of the few people where Alastor seems to genuinely like and be friends with. I hope we get to see more of her and their friendship next season :D
Alastor's entire speech about the value of a smile in letting you take control of a situation and deceiving all those around you, while he's smiling at her throughout, had some serious Littlefinger "I /told/ you not to trust me!" energy.
In the pilot episode, Alastor summons everyone into new outfits during his makeover of the hotel and he gave Vaggie the same outfit Susan is wearing here. XD
Rosie would be the like best Auntie to have haha, everyone needs the slightly deranged, super supportive, definitely a threat to anyone that messes with you, wise cool-aunt haha
16:13 he said in this side of the pentagram. So not in all of hell which is why he said it
Alastor (and also Rosie) seems to be purposefully putting Charlie into a leadership role and train her to be the the leader hell does not have.
Like despite saying he wants to watch the hotel fail miserably, I think Alastor used it as a mean to motivate and train Charlie to grow into a leader.
I'm not sure if it's still canon, but her life partner, Franklin, was killed in a previous extermination. So, that could also be a reason for Rosie to help.
She didn't look upset about it, I even thought, she helped him to be exterminated
"Ready" is the most Musical of all the Musical numbers
Ready for This*
the over all arc of the Canibals/Rosie, is the phrase "never judge a book by their cover". They have all been shunned and considered the "worse" by everyone, so they don't judge others.
i think Al's plan is to let Charlie get more guests and to let her think she's going to succeed when in reality, alastor's just calmly nudging her into the optimal position for him.
With Alastor's comment on smiles especially, watch his eyes for some insight into his true feelings. One thing I've seen online is shots where they removed the smile which allows you to use his eyes and other visuals outside of his giant, focus drawing mouth to get a better idea of his true thoughts and emotions.
Susan is voiced by Niffty’s VA, Kimiko Glenn.
Ace in the hole also has a dual meaning from him being aromantic/asexual. She effectively called him an @$$hole which is why he went "What now?" Rosie comes from that time where you did clever word play when insulting someone in front of them.
I wouldn't have got it too if not for Lackadaisy and Mordecai fans
The singing also technically worked in the pilot, it got Alastor on board…
Actually, come to think of it, every time she sings she does get either one individual super interested, or a whole group mildly interested. We also saw (if you watch the background in Helluva Boss) that Luna agreed with it and enjoyed her pilot song as she watched it on the office computer
Alastor is confirmed to be ace and theorized to also be aro, hence the 'ace in the hole' joke.
Alastor and Rosie are unironically besties and have known each other for a while. So yeah, they do like and probably really trust each other, which is why Rosie says he never did her wrong in deals/favors and also why Alastor doesn't get annyed by her teasing. It's also why Alastor flatters her so much, though it could be argued that Rosie is terrifying for having established a true unity among her people (the cannibals) to the point that they are either all in together, or none of them would participate. (Also, ig you missed the 'this side of the Pentagram' bit)
My actual impression of what Alastor ultimately wants from Charlie is to use her as a tool to free himself (somehow) and overall just continue accumulating power and influence from under the princess of hell's "protection".
When most people think about criminals they imagine the most "animated" or upfront kind. I think with Rosie and the cannibals they're so civil is because they've learned to keep up a mask. The joke about how serial killers look like everyone else is because I'm guessing Roaie knows how to keep that aspect of herself under wraps.
She did lose her wings, but regained them. Also Alastor is probabley the 3rd strongest overlord the only ones who are stronger is Zestial and Carmilla.
I think Alaster and Rosie are old friends because they come from similar timelines and have similar ideas and demeanors.
I also thought they were old friends because he allows Rosie to touch him when he doesn’t allow others to do so.
Gonna be honest, I have absolutely no experience with how the youtube copyright system or any of that works, but I felt compelled to let you know if you didn't already that part of the intro wasn't cut out and shows what seems to be pirating website but maybe I'm mistaken. 14:30 Most dangerous on THAT side of the pentagram. She basically controls the area is what he means.
I think the implication is that Vaggie finally gained enough self-confidence or whatever to grow them back.
alastor said "this side of the pentagram" meaning its just this area shes dangerous
The way he phrased it "one favor at a time. Of my choosing" could mean multiple favors down the line
I think the whole "Ready for this" song is even more important for Charlie as a character than many give it credit for
It's the first time Charlie got to accept that she can't fix everything by being nice and talking to people, but rather need to fight for what she believes
Before this, everything Charlie tried, from the interview in the pilot, her talking to Valentino and even episode 6 and the meeting with heaven, was to get people to just be happy and stick together. And now she has to face the fact that there are people, who Don't care for that and her plan won't work for them
The cannibals, and Rosey especially, are so shockingly wholesome and I love it. Rosey herself has easily become one of my favorite characters in the show and I really hope we see more from her in Season 2.
So, they show a tiny street-part littered with corpses riddled with angelic spears, and that is just one Extermination day.
Carmilla Carmine: Angelic Steel isnt common
Also Carmilla Carmine later: here take all these boxes of angelic steel I have, we will put it into bombs and guns and everything for you...I'll still have plenty left to keep up my business. XD
Also no her wings WERE cut off...they grew back, at the moment she gave up on revenge and decided to fight for love.
Not cut off, ripped off. By hand.
Yeah I thought it was weird how much she had to spare even though uts uncommon. Also there were like 4 angelic witnesses to the angels death in her story flashback, why did none of them say anything to Lute or Adam?
Yeah her wings were ripped off by a being of divine atonement someone on her power level. In hell demons sinners can be ripped apart and have to take time to pull themselves together as stated that Val ripped apart one of velvets top models and she needed time to "pull herself together" .
Lute cut out her eye with the sword and that's permanently gone. But her wings were ripped off.
And thus could come back in time.
Carmine's also presumably the only dealer in Angelic steel weapons, and I can't imagine that many people are inclined to jump straight to scavenging the stuff as soon as Extermination Day is over (hell, the fact that her daughters were attacked _by Exorcists_ mwans that Carmine's crew doesn't even wait for the Exorcist army to leave Hell before they start collecting), so the stuff *is* rare... if you're not working for Carmine.
@@harleyjune They may have. The end of episode 1 just shows them finding the body, does not mean they did not hear about it, just that they wanted confirmation, wanted to actually find the corpse.
"A favor where you DON'T HURT ANYONE" is the part of that I fixate on. Because him having Charlie fulfill her promise by preventing her from fighting someone. Such as not fighting against Lute when she next tries to kill Vaggi for example.
So, angelic wings (and technically their halo too…) are actually extensions of their inner sense of self/purpose. So, since she had lost both her way and her purpose after having them removed, it was only now that she got both back that they returned, and in a newer, truer form.
14:23 He said that she's the Most Dangerous on THAT side of the Pentagram, she's the strongets of that zone of hell, not all of the Pride Ring
cannibals are my type of people.
Not to mention that Cannibal-Town looks like a nice place to live...provided that you stick with their 1900-1920s aesthetic.

@@SilverScribe85 Then why didn't they attack Charlie who's wearing modern clothes???

Just a heads up for the next episode, watch through the credits there is an extra scene. It's imperative that you do.
Alastor is canonically asexual and was calling him that with the "Ace in the hole" line.
I never thought Alastor's radio voice coincided with how fake he was being. That's brilliant!
Alastor transferred the info via handshake
As tempted as Alastor was with Charlie's soul, even he knows that if he actually tried that, Lucifer would obliterate him out of existence
fun fact: in episode 5 of helluva boss (the one to introduce striker) one of his propesition to Blitz is "you could be slaying overlords"
aka- you can be killing sinners and when you consider all of these exorcists are winners (dead humans that gone to heaven) you can find the logic
I like the "Out of love" song but I think there is a missing scene somewhere, Vagie has been fighting only for love this whole time, everytime she threaten violence it's to defend Charlie or the hotel, she has never attack anyone out of hate(out for blood). I think there should have been a scene where she tackle Lut or Adam after they reveal her secret
Vaggie Motha and her new wings.
Similar things with wings has happened in life action Lucifer serial when angel come true some mental "redemption".
Razzle and Dazzle are like Keekey they are toys Lucifer bring to life.

Alastor is Asexual. IE “An Ace in the hole.”

Sir Repentious
Rosie saying Alastor is an ace in the hole means that he is both aromantic and asexual
"Wouldn't it be nice to see more of hell"
"Do you want to travel, come on boys hop on saddle"
She's throwing all enlistment slogans out there
"20:00 - TF you mean, 'Nuh-Uh!'?"
Fun note: Susan's outfit is the same one Al put Vaggie in during his song in the pilot.
Had to go back and check for this one. It's not quite the same, but it is very similar. The hat and dress are very different. That would be a really deep cut if it were identical.
25:00 a very common theory is that helluva boss takes place after season 1 of helluva boss, mainly because Moxxie talks about how angelic weapons changed demon warfare to Millie's parents, and now all of hell knows about the power they hold. And Moxxie even says that Striker's gun is "carmine crafted" meaning that after the information went public, Caine started selling angelic steel infused weapons, but to very few and probably an insane price.
Yes, heavenly weapons are useful that way, as shown in Helluva Boss. The Carmine name is dropped when Moxie talks about the blessing-tipped rifle that Striker uses, because Carilla Carmine is the only dealer of angelic weapons. The two shows can't cross over directly, but they do still clearly share a universe.
She got Susan on board. You can see her nodding.
I wonder how Vaggie didnt relize angels can be harmed based on she is also an angel but she literatly brutally attacked and lose an eye by a former weapon-friend angel, by an angelic weapon...
By another angel. She may have honestly believed it was only because Lute was another angel that she could be hurt and not the weapon that did it. Remember, Lute ripped her wings off, it was only the eye that was stabbed.
26:47 correct, when moxie pointed out specifically a "carmine-crafted blessing tipped rifle".
And the thing is carmilla also sold striker his weapons!
6:09 well I mean, Moxxie swore by heaven once or twice too. In ep 2 he says "the heaven's wrong with this thing?" when trying to win the carnival game
p5 I need to start learning to pick out the most important thoughts

27:17 I figure she didn't think she did, and/or hadn't tried. Also, the color is faded, so no longer black-striped. (Her hair has a faded strip as well).
33:40 "Passing the test" would probably be context dependent, because usually I hear "passing the test" as in, for your role. As in pass the test as princess, show that she has the leadership and motivation skills, etc.
Also I just love their little side moment in this song. It's one of my favorite things. Al and Rosie.
(Also when the cannibals join in, I always wave my arms with them, maybe do a little choreo beyond that, but at _least_ the L-R-L
Susan approves~
16:13 he did include the caveat "this side of the pentagram", which might include the five points and the central hub as the "sides".
It’s possible that Rosie and the cannibals are a reference to the urban legends of Black Eyed Children and Black Eyed Adults. Although the references to Hello Dolly and Sweeney Todd are dead give aways.
00:00 WOOOO ROSIE ROSIE
3:47 mm
4:19 It's one of the few things I heard about him between the Pilot and the Show - about seeing not smiling as a weakness. As far as comics... I read like 2 pages, if even that, of one of the comics, and I only remember that he was walking down a street and some cannibal ladies were all waving at him or smth.
6:50 Harm no one -- that sounds so NO
It's worse bc he says "harm no one" and then pushes "do we have a deal?" without even pausing, so it's almost like a slip from my POV
Cutting my comment into so many parts -- and deleting or striking through some things I see covered in comments
24:30 Easy target? that's what the Roman Legions thought about the Berserkers and they got decimated in the battlefield... there is nothing more terrifying than skilled warriors who are not afraid of dying.
The goat attendants are named Razzle and Dazzle, and are plushies brought to life by Lucifer
If you recall, in the words of Moxie, Striker had a 'Genuine Carmine Crafted Rifle'...
Carmine... Sounds familiar, yes? Like the last name of a certain weapons dealer? Who might make... A rifle?
She definitely lost her wings, they just grew back due to the "Power of Love" tm.
p4
23:30 Yess this is why you're one of my favorites. I always see it in comments but I don't see reactors also verbally acknowledge the _why_ , just complimentary, like "oo her hair"
24:58 "oh my crumbles, a genuine Carmine-Crafted Blessing-Tipped Rifle"
(I always just think...why were they outside, though? -- if the Pilot had held that would've meant they were out when it started, rushed home, then hung out with Zestial until it finished
26:03 oop well...maybe this will be smooth enough for it not to feel awkward when she doesn't sing. I hear other people also thinking it's interesting that they're getting another connected moment like you mentioned
The best part I found in this episode?
The excuse for the exterminations was to prevent hell from rebelling against heaven. And here it's those very exterminations which got a small part of hell to actually start fighting back instead of running and hiding.
Definitely the hottes character I agree 100%
😎👍
Alastor using "heavens no" and the like really isn't that odd when Lucifer himself says things like "by god" on multiple occasions.
I actually never noticed the part where pentisous is holding the cat before you said something
p3
20:28 yOOO I haven't heard anyone say that and I love it
21:00 with the one opened eye, I'm pretty sure it was a dig, given the conversation before the deal, and the unsuccessful attempts
21:16 the way his ears flatten because _Susan_
I just keep watching the ears --- like part of episode 8, actually 👀just for a moment
22:12 because of the towns designs, some think they're a whole town that was starving, resorted to cannibalism, and still starved to death. Hence ending up together and with similar character designs that seem less personalized.
For what i understand cannibals from cannibal town aren't sinner but hellborns, so maiby for them the princess and king means something more
You are the first person I have way he’s that noticed Carmila out here hair down when Vaggie mentioned her hair.
Vaggie had her eye removed by an angelic weapon. How did she not know This?
“Now… Carmilla… to be fair… the other main guess was a daughter if yours who left to be with Charlie or something on bad terms… but yes, the angel option was the only other option standing.”
24:05 I like how you're one of the few people who realized the X had nothing to do with her being an Exorcists but just an injury and that Carmela just guessed correctly.
25:13 Just a reminder they're all aware of how powerful angelic steel is as it's necessary to kill both Sinners and Royals permanently, it just wasn't know it was for angels too.
27:23 I didn't notice originally but Lute ripped her wings off which is why they grow back as only angelic steel injuries are permanent.
That song "Out for Love" from Carmilla is one of my favorites
Though, Alastor just is my Favorite Character cause like Rosie revealed about him this episode........ He's Aroace
"Ace in the Hole" is a metaphor for Asexuality
And Alastor questioning her is his way of showing he Doesn't know about the Community of such people because he Died long before it became accepted
