In all honesty I think Ozzie really ain’t against the lovey dovey crap. He subtly shows it with his interactions with Fizz. The problem might be that as a showman, the vibe of the club was clashing hard with the song Moxie was singing. Ozzie even gave him a second chance to preform something much more fitting for a top of the line nightclub in the LUST ring. He pretty much had the capability of killing Moxie and Millie for hurting Fizz and seeing that the crowd was entertained, he just told them to scram instead. The Roast on Stolas kinda was unscripted, but what Stolas did was the epitome of Lust, something Ozzie gave him props for, but also mocked him for as a demon aristocrat himself.
“He really does hate himself. And they’re giving us such a sad background clue that he’s put everything he loves around him… and made sure to remove himself from all of it." Man this part, you really zeroed in Blitz's entire deal and it hit me so hard
Yeah when that Female Succubus sang that last part, someone pointed out in a review, the expression on his face. Showed he realized how badly he hurt her, she actually did like him even loved him. For a creature like her to actually want to love, and Blitz hurting her in the end must of been brutal. Also this. At the end of Moxxie's song she listening seemly not caring the other two mocking it but it does affect them. They even the Lord of Lust long for love, though they deny it.
I love how easily believable Stolas and Blitzo's whole ending scene is. Stolas and Blitzo started out as basically a business transaction, Stolas gets to sleep with Blitzo and in return he gets the book. Once Stolas started to catch feelings he tries to push the boundaries but because of Blitzo's past relationships failing and his own personal self hatred, he shoves Stolas basically right back to the boundaries that they set when they started this relationship. Not to mention it's actually really understandable why Blitzo sees his affection as ingeniune, because we see that through most of their interactions, Stolas was acting flirtatious and lustful, so him suddenly acting differently isn't gonna fly from Blitzo's perspective. It's brilliant and a testament to the writer's talent.
Yup. Plus animators did a really great job with reactions to the words/actions of others. When Stolas hides his face, we can see Blitzo's reaction to it, with words of Asmodeus in the background talking about the lust. We all can imagine what kind thoughts he had. And then Blitzo interrupted Stolas at word "cuddle" with those face...
I feel also Blitzo doesn't want to trust anyone into his personal, truly personal, life because of the fact that something might happen to him. In the last scene, he is looking through the photos and sees the other Imps next to him in one of the photos (siblings, as some have theorized or possibly friends). He let them into his life but they either died or disappeared, we don't know. I say all this to say that I think he has some mild trust issues on top of what you have already said.
I didn't notice his fascination with horses at first either, but watching back the episodes, it's crazy how many times it's there in the (insanely detailed!) background art or mentioned on the side. From Verosika's ranting at Blitzo in the parking lot, to Blitzo laying on the ground just watching Striker's horse eat while he's completely enamored with the beast, Blitzo spending "all" of Loopty Goopty's payment on a horse-shaped gem wearing a "Mare-juana" hat, to doodles all over the various whiteboards around the IMP office, and I'm sure there's dozens more.
Blitzo is kind of right that when Stolas has talked to him before he has always been doing the sex talk and flirty pet names. They've never really had a genuine heart-to-heart about having more than just transactional sex. Stolas really does care about Blitzo, but he's never given Blitzo much of a reason to believe that with his actions in front of him. It's like with Octavia in episode 2. Stolas doesn't recognize the feelings and thoughts of people he cares about and hurts them without meaning to and doesn't realize it until it blows up in his face.
I think we're really getting into a Stolas character arc/character redemption arc where he becomes more emotionally aware of the people around him, at least Blitz and Octavia
Stolas harbors a lot of love and giddy feelings but doesn't know how to express them, so he dirty-talks even when it's inappropriate. His way of showing affection and trying to be "sexy" ends up making him come off as a creepy user rather than someone who is tryharding a relationship, especially with the way he used the grimoire as an excuse to start it. All of his attempts to show Blitz that he is valued and loved twist themselves into proof in Blitz's mind that he just wants sex. Neither Blitzo nor Octavia understand him, and until he learns to express himself like he did in episode 2, they probably won't. Octavia will continue to adopt her mother's mindset and grow to resent him, while Blitzo will continue to go into the relationship thinking that he's just a sex toy to Stolas.
While you're not wrong that up until now stolas his only wanted sex He spent the entire episode actually trying to spend time with blitz and even tried to invite him inside to watch a movie Stolas reminds me of someone who is in their first actual relationship nervous as hell says inappropriate things at inappropriate times and generally doesn't know what to do with himself Starting to wonder if his marriage wasn't arranged and this is the first time he's been with someone he genuinely cares about Adding this because I decided to go back and watch the second episode and during the argument he and his wife were having she never says the word cheat she's only angry that he slept with an imp how disgraceful that was
@@zombieslayer2016 I know that he does care about Blitzo and wants a real relationship. I never said he didn't. My point was that his way of acting around Blitzo has been unintentionally reinforcing his belief that Stolas sees him as just a plaything. And so it's sort of a case of too little, too late when he tries to reach out and be more emotionally tender because Blitzo had already come to the conclusion they don't have anything real. Stolas saw their affair as more meaningful and romantic than Blitzo did and just assumed the commitment and enjoyment was the same for them both without recognizing what Blitzo was actually thinking. It's consistent with his previously shown character flaw of accidentally ignoring the feelings of his loved ones, and I think it makes for great writing that adds drama and complexity to his and Blitzo's situation. We know he's serious about a relationship, but in-story Blitzo has no reason to believe that because of both his own insecurities and how Stolas had always sort of treated him as an inferior without meaning to. And that's a great way to emphasize the tragedy and how desperate and dysfunctional they both are at this point and how they both need to grow and work at fixing themselves to make a relationship work.
@@BradenBest you bring he needs to learn to express himself I'd like to mention that he tried inviting blitz into the house so that they can watch a movie and talk if that isn't him attempting to express himself I don't know what is
Asmodias is the Lust of the 7 deadly sins and WAY above Stolas in Hells hierarchy. Love how much research they put into the characters and demons, especially the hierarchy
The hierarchy of hell is: Lucifer the king of hell and Lord of pride and his family The other six sin lords Ars Goetia family The demon Lord like Alestar from hazbin hotel Correct me if miss something
@@williamharmon4039 right?! Makes me hype on what other designs they decide to go with. There's 72 deamons in the Ars Goetia and we've only seen 2 and hinted at maybe 2 others (they use the sigils everywhere) I'm curious about the other sins as well as the lesser Dukes, Lord's, Princes and such
Asmodues and Fizzaroli (the Clown) are voiced and sung by Broadway professionals Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice) and James Inglehart (Hamilton). As a theater geek, this has me all over the place.
I KNEW he sounded familiar. I knew Alex Brightman straight away but couldn't place where I heard Asmodeus' voice, just knew it was sooo pretty, really great singers both of em.
What hits me the hardest is that, at the end of the credits, it says “in memory of Steve Dorian.” For those who don’t know, he’s also known as Lemony Fresh on TH-cam, and he sadly passed away in September. He was someone who worked on both Helluva Boss, but I, as well as I’m pretty sure a lot of others, had first known about him for his Game Grumps animations. He was one of my favorites, and when I heard about him passing, I legitimately broke down, even though I didn’t know him personally. When I saw the message at the end of the credits, I had to fight back tears. Anyways, sorry for the long comment. I just wanted to get my thoughts out there. Great reaction as always
I think you overlooked a scene or two. Blitz, when Stolas was trying to talk to him, did eventually turn completely around once Stolas made it seem like he was interested in more than just sex. However, Stolas messed up because everyone was picking on him for being in love with an Imp. Then when Blitz looked to Stolas he hid his face in shame. Not just because he was ousted and called out for his adultery, but also because a part of him does think of Imps, and by association Blitz, as lower than him. Even Stella in episode 2 was angry at him, but not for sleeping around in general, but for sleeping with an Imp. A lower class in hell. Even in the song Whackford asked if he was sleeping with an Imp, while being an Imp too. So, Stolas was essentially hiding from the shame of being with a lower class as well. We see bits and pieces of how Stolas treats Blitz. It’s not intentional and I’m sure if they just talked things out it could be addressed but he does talk down to Blitz a lot. Like saying his book shouldn’t be handed out to, “itty bitty Imps like yourself”. He often says Blitz is an Imp like he’s fetishizing him for being what he is too. Even the last episode he said “who dares threaten my impish little plaything”. Blitz did try when Stolas seemed actually interested in what Blitz was doing, but he messed it up because he still had some prejudice as well. He just doesn’t know it. Watch back through all of the episodes. You can see breadcrumbs being left everywhere. Then, to add insult to injury, Moxxie and Millie have this very heartfelt moment where they accept each other completely. It’s like rubbing salt on an open wound for him. Stolas turned away when he was called out unlike Millie who just took those insults in stride and supported her partner. Both Blitz and Stolas are at fault in this case. Blitz did try though. You can see his expressions throughout. He was hoping for something more like what Moxxie and Millie have. Which is likely why he stalks them. That’s what I’ve seen at least.
(In response to the first paragraph) I think Blitzo was looking at Stolas, trying to gauge if Stolas would defend himself, and accept their accusations.
Stolas isn't perfect but it's far more Blitz's problem then anyone else. While it might be about the mockery and public shame for Blitz Stolas is having thrown in his face the price he's already paid for his relationship with Blitz, as shallow as it is. Hiding in that moment, having some uncertainty after having paid that high a price and seen himself get taken advantage of for the bulk of the evening isn't a good look but it's vastly more understandable then any of the decisions then Blitz made in this episode. And it's not like Stolas stays distant thereafter, he repeatedly tries to reach out afterwards and make something of it and Blitz brushes him off. Where I will give Blitz some credit is apologizing, though I'm not all that sure he knows what he should be apologizing for.
There are two things that I noticed not many people talking about. During Moxx’s hallucination last episode, he mentioned that he struggles to stand up for himself in fear of rejection; here, he finished his song for Millie and had his whole wholesome moment with her, completely shrugging off mockery and insults from an entire restaurant worth of people and a freaking demon king… all thanks to Millie supporting him and making sure he knew she was enjoying his number, without judging. Second, and this might be me reading too much into it, I find it pretty significant that Loona left that letter for Blitzo to not worry about her, even specifying he shouldn’t wait for her awake. Loona strikes me as the kind of person who would just go out unannounced and flip off anyone who asked her about it, yet she went out of her way to make sure he knew what she was up to. I think that’s a very subtle sign that through all the shit Blitzo has and is still doing to himself and others, things might be gradually looking up.
7:43 I didn't realize until later but Stolas' is alone because his wife is done. She has left and Octavia possibly may have been taken with her. It is so depressing what he has lost and has to face at the end of the day because of Blitz who can't even recognize that he loves him.
@@joelsasmad Stolaz did say „Octavia is with her mother this weekend“ which proobably means he talked with Stella about how their constant fighting affects Octavia and decided to life separately and to keep that as a secret (cause of status etc.). I personally think they had the talk after the Bloodmoon Festival ? Maybe right after we see Stella having the call to kill Stolaz. Its nice to see Stolaz trying to make Octavia more comfortable
One thing none of the reactors I’ve seen so far have fought on to: stolas could have opened a portal back to his house just as easily as when he came down there, but he’d tether ride inside blitso’s cramped, messy van just to spend a little bit of extra time with him.
This episode hit hard. Personally, I think blitz is worried to show stollas he cares because he might mess it up which is making him mess up and not tell him how he feels. Like a self-proclaimed prophecy, it does delve more into his charachter like yeah he acts high and mighty when he's around others but in reality he's not so confidant and he's just trying to show he can be. I don't know what's terrifying though, the fact we were expecting something bloody and that... or getting this emotional bombshell of an episode
I find it interesting that despite being annoyed by Verosica every time she and him meet, Blitzo still keeps the picture of both of them together looking happy.
Great reaction as always! One thing I noticed while watching that I think you caught but didn't focus on: Asmodeus and Fizzaroli. Even though they're the antagonists of the episode, neither one really does anything evil. They interrupt Moxie's song to heckle him but don't really go further than "hey your song doesn't fit the vibe of our club" and even give him a chance to try singing again. When he rebuffs them and continues on, they get a bit ruder about it (and outright say that Moxie is "killing the vibe"), but that's still all it really comes down to. We also see them share a few glances at each other during pauses, and my read of that is that they genuinely hope Moxie will play along and sing his love song with more of a lustful tinge and they're not just mocking him for the sake of mocking love. I mean, they can't be *entirely* against love. Their club is for couples only, after all. That plus the way that Asmodeus reacts to Fizz getting squished is telling: his eyes go tearful at the start, he's shaking in the background in shock, and his first reaction is to gently pick Fizz up and make sure he's okay. It's pretty clear to me that these two are in a more sentimental relationship, they just want to keep the vibe of the club lustful. I'd even say the real reason they kicked M&M out is because of the assault, not the lousy (to them) performance. When Blitzo interrupts, then Fizz gets on *his* ass, but even then he only lambasts him as a hypocrite before Verosica chimes in that he's selfish too. Only then does Asmodeus recognize Stolas, and the short line he gets feels more like a warning than actual mockery. At least, that's how it came off to me, what with the context prior that shows Stolas didn't just "throw away" his wife and daughter for lust, he did it for an imp who probably doesn't deserve that kind of sacrifice. From an outsider's point of view, Stolas fucked up even if you take into account his marital issues. So anyway those two might be my new favorite characters and I hope they make future appearances.
Asmodeus is definitely either my new favorite or second-favorite (just below Stolas), and it's everything you mentioned with him and Fizz along with the vibe of power he gives off. Like, he's one of the most powerful demons in all of Hell (iirc ONLY beneath Lucifer, Lilith, and Charlie) but he plays off of the situation to try correcting and informing Moxxie of what the club is all about while *staying in a rhythm*. I also love how cool he plays everything, keeping in line with his Deadly Sin of Lust, and not blowing his top over someone killing the club's vibe - something that would more be a Wrath thing to do.
There’s something I’d like to mention in terms of Blitzo’s self destruction and faults: Fizzaroli and Verosika singing about how he’s horrible and all may have some truth to it, but the fact is: they’re singing it like it was ALL his fault in ‘ruining’ their lives. That may be true to some extent, but let’s not act like they’re the complete victim either. Verosika is a heavy alcoholic that went through failed rehab, Fizz is hiding the fact that he’s an imp through his heavy costume and disguises (a lot of people didn’t notice that he was an imp), and making it seem like Blitzo is scum. (He’s not, bad choices shouldn’t define someone as a whole.) They’ve got some messed up things that they need to acknowledge and make up for too. And for Blitzo pushing away Stolas even though they were publicly humiliated, there’s 2 factors that were put into this: 1. Stolas had the chance to stand up for himself and Blitzo’s relationship, but hides away instead and can’t even look at him in the eyes during the song. 2. Every loving relationship Blitzo had blew up in his face. His sister became a drug addict, Fizz resented him for wanting to try a different career path and is trying to rub it in his face, Verosika’s alcoholism was a major factor in her behaviour, and even his mom may be gone. I can feel with Stolas too, he was backed into a corner and mocked for his relationship with Blitzo, despite him already having a spouse and child. “Having it all”, and Asmodeus made it seem like loving Blitzo is throwing it all away, which is entirely untrue. I can’t fault him for not being able to stand up for himself either, it’s horrifying and paralyzing to be in that spot. I’ve been down some dark paths in life and can heavily emphasize with Blitzo right now. I don’t excuse his mistakes, but I feel as if criticizing him for not reciprocating is a little bit unfair. Also let’s at least give him kudos for sticking up for Moxie and Millie, he really does care and is capable of doing good by himself and others.
Im totally agree! Like... We can see this through thier expressions. When Fizz started to blame Blitzo, he at one second looked back to Stolas, but when he was left without support turned back. There were really a lot of little details like these... What an excellent job!
Blitzo sure had his share of toxic relationships. I expected Verosika and Fizzaroli to be better and put most of the blame on him. But you are right, they have a share in this bad relationship.
Neither had a chance to stand up for themselves because they were emotionally evicerated, they got their deepest insecurities thrown in their face in front of, not only everyone else, but each other too.
THANK YOU! I feel as though two many people try to make it out like Fitzz and Ozzie we're trying to teach a "moral lesson" by mocking Stolas and Blitzo, when really, they we're just being mean for the sake of it.
"Stolas had the chance to stand up for himself and Blitzo’s relationship, but hides away instead and can’t even look at him in the eyes during the song." I think the main reason for this is because of the fact that it's sinking in, after being ignored and seeing numerous examples of Blitzos failures and selfishness in previous relationships, that Blitzo was just using him when he wanted to form an actual connection and relationship. That's why he didn't hide his face in the "sleeping with an imp" line, just at the "sold your life for a thrust" line because he truly cares about Blitzo that he actually has a special place in his life ever since childhood and he's realizing that "a thrust" is all he is to Blitzo. "What's between you and I, just a comforting lie" in his song emphasizes that point in my opinion. He sucks at expressing his feelings and he's not without fault in this situation as you've shown, but I don't that particular action was unreasonable considering how he's seen Blitzo treating both his own sincerity and now everyone else in his life. Looking at past episodes, Stolas never had the opportunity to see just how bad Blitzo is at forming respectful connections with other people so it's kind of a slap to the face to feel like "he's just going to leave me too because he never truly cared" and to feel hurt that he "wasted his life for someone else's thrust".
Blitzo MET Loona when she was almost 18. He did not raise her from childhood, he adopted her shortly before she'd have been forced to leave as an adult on her own. So those are definitely NOT Loona's drawings, those are drawings of horses which Blitzo is very fond of. Those are his drawings.
"Dude you're...acting like his wife c'mon." Oh. OH. OW. That didn't occur to me but hearing that and rewatcjing this scene now....oh wow that hurts worse
Yeah you probably know it by now but Asmodeus is literally THE demon of lust. He is directly below lucifer and his family himself and is the ruler of the lust ring and far above stolas in power and reputation
Yet I think he is quite close to fizz who is an imp, because If you are a demon lord why would care so much about a demon less than you, and infront of the crowd, and outing stolas and blitz was sign of self hate.......I might be reading too much into this.
Fizz is just an imp, which is the lowest ranking demons in hell. However people assume his clown-ish disguise has people fooled and many aren't aware he's actually just an imp.
In episode 6 when moxie sings in his hallucination, moxie asks blitz why he is always pushing people that are close to blitz away from him and blitz in moxie's hallucination says I don't know. This shows that blitz also at a certain point seemed to push even moxie who is important to him away from him
This is what I have mentioned in a few comments. I think that due to him losing the ones close to him (shown at the end of this episode with the photo and subsequent crying) he doesn't want to let anybody close, afraid he will lose them.
I think what sealed the deal for Blitz is during that line "You sold your life for a thrust"...rather than look at Blitz, Stolas his his face behind a menu in shame. I think this is what broke blitz. Also..the last picture, The one the same age as him is his twin sister Barbie Wire. The one in rehab. The other is their older sister, Tilla.or she was in the pilot episode. The picture was later changed from "The Amazing Imp Siblings" to "The Amazing Imp Twins" as she was edited out by episode one. The new picture has the twins holding a card with 'happy berth moma' So in the end...whatever happened was REALLY bad. Blitz is a mess, his sister is a worse mess apparently, and Fizzaroli has mechanical limbs. My bet is on massive circus accident...and Blitz being the cause possibly with how Fizzaroli goes out of his way to disrespect blitz. After all..remember the one line from Hallucination Fizzaroli previous episode? *"YOU TRIED THE SOLO ACT ,IT DIDNT WORK OUT SO WELL!"*
This Fizz was the real one. The one from episode 2 was a robot. Also the guy who you thought was Foghorn was a imp that makes a cameo in almost every episode
I don't think it's the real Fizz. Mainly because this Fizz still has those robotic sounds. We see a younger Fizz in Blitz's pics, so I think Fizz is a shut in who sells robot versions of himself, probably also because of Blitz, too, it wouldn't surprise me.
@@deadeye4047 it is the real one, they even dub themselves the one and only, and said they were designed by the big man, Asmodues, he gave his limbs for these new parts, as he says, rimmed for your pleasure.
Haven't scrolled far into the comments so I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it yet or not but, Fizzaroli has an entire line of robotic clowns (like the one we saw in Loo Loo Land) where they are basically advanced sex dolls. A pink poster of Robo Fizz in Loo Loo Land detailed some of the various features he has. So yeah, makes sense why one fan mentioning having FOUR Robo Fizzes would freak the real Fizzaroli out, lol. Edit: If pronouncing Fizzaroli is difficult, you can just call him Fizz.
Stolas lifting the menu to cover his face in embarrassment was a large hit to Blitz, because the one time he tried to rely on Stolas, he hid himself and Blitz, who was already clinging to the cliff edge, was not saved and instead fell into his self destruction
Yep. Overall, I think that was the one wrong thing stole this did in the entire episode. Unfortunately it came at the one moment where Blitzø couldn't take it. If this wasn't so sad, it would be a comedy of errors.
We have one episode left, then after season one ends Viz said that they will take a ~4 month hiatus before season two, and during that time we could expect some Hazbin Hotel stuff.
@Kiki Blonde dude no. she promised it wouldn't be ruined. she promised she'd deliver on what she created. She's excited about how it's going. They're working WITH her, not using it for themselves.
I just want to mention how much i appreciate that they specified the difference between actual love and what Asmodeus is selling. It actually made so much sense for Asmodeus to be repulsed by and mock genuine love between individuals. it goes against his entire schtick! selfishly looking for your own pleasure starts looking a little less dazzling when you can compare it to a healthy, loving relationshp that actually has a chance to survive after you come down from the high. Also, is it too much to expect an actual divorce in the future for Stolas and Stella ? I ask for no redemption, but seeing that vindictive woman just go ”Look, I despise you, but I am just too tired to put in the effort anymore for your pathetic arse” would be nice. plus i just like her accent.
@@gyver8448 I agree, it is implied at some point between episode 6 and 7 stolas's infidelity caused Stella to divorce him and Octavia to see him only on specific days, leaving him essentially alone in a big mansion.
I am kinda sad that stolas is all alone now in his house just watching telenovela But its better than being screamed 24/7 Also its healthier for octavia kinda
What if Blitzø accidentally killed his mother, hurting himself and Fizz in the process, that being the reason of both why Fizz hates him and why his sister is in rehab?
People assume something like this may have happened. A horrible accident that killed his mom, maimed Fizz and even scarred Blitzo. The white patches all over his body are actually scars. Notice he doesn't have them when he was younger or in his teens. Hell even when he was dating Verasika. So they happened more recently.
2 cool details I saw. Stolas has an Armillary Sphere above his dining table as a chandelier. At the end of the song, the note that Ozzie and Fiz would have sung is STILL THERE! It's just faint and fades away like smoke
That moment it clicks that your emotionally invested in an animated character. That is clever story telling, and story done right. Even the musicals are narrative and not just a number. Its powerful, love Vizipop and her story telling ability.
to be fair to blitzo hes obviously afraid that stolas doesn't actualy care because in his own mind blitz dosnt see himself as someone who someone can actualy love its what drove him to sabotage other relationships and this kind of thing is sadly rather common in people with anxiety and depression who have been hurt by people they trusted and loved deeply it leaves very deep scars and can lead to pushing away people who try to be there and show love and speaking from experience it can be very hard to break that thought process and him keeping the pictures of the good times isnt him ignoring the bad quite the opposite when he looks at those hes probably hyper focusing on the bad of how that person left or how he screwed up and drove the person away
Up until now, the relationship between Stolas and Blitzo has been basically how Blitzo described it. I think the idea is that Stolas has been developing real feelings, especially as the rest of his personal life falls apart, but even in the last episode, his attitude towards Blitzo was as much patronizing and possessive as anything else. I think this was the first time he’d really viewed the relationship as something more. Notably he started calling Blitzo “Blitz” rather than “Blitzy.” Of course, since Blitzo wasn’t looking for that, he ignored it, and when Stolas was called out, Blitzo was inevitably going to misinterpret Stolas hiding his face.
Honestly I dont belive any of the ars goeria demon they always seemed super sus to me. I do believe Stolas is evil and will inevitably do something that crosses the border at wich point they will be forced to confront him.
@@biconstanner6315 not really they each have a thing they care about and I can totaly see Stolas exploiting that after he goes off the deep end. I can only see this going to ways. He dies somehow or does something tragic and drastic for one reason or the other.
Look I'm not saying Blitz is any better but it's not completely unfounded, Blitz since the beginning has felt like he was basically nothing more than a sex toy for Stolas and in the beginning stolas did just that, at first it was just about the sex and it wasn't until later on that they really started to get close that they actually started caring for each other but Blitz doesn't know that and simply can't help but still think stolas only wants Blitz for sex
I just love all the details in this episode. Asmodeus and his heads are one of them. in traditional folklore, Asmodeus was a demon with three heads, one human, one of a ram or bull, and the other a beast but I don't remember which one. the fact he has two small shadows like faces that matches his big/regular head shows details and I love how they did it.
Fizzaroli is a imp, not a robot. This episode shows that Fizz has a eye balls. The Fizz robots were made to be sex dolls (except the one in lulu land) made by Asmodias. It's theorized that alongside his mother and sister, Fizz and Blitz worked together in the circus (as shown the pictures in the office). But you're kind of right that Blitz hurt Fizz (idk physically, but hurt him in someway that made them enemies). The song Asmodias and Fizz sing is about the lust, how they don't accept love. The message of the song impacts Blitz and the dynamic with Stolas, Blitz fears abandonment and feels that he can't be accepted by anyone. It's why Blitz wants to hang with people (which he also pesters them). All of the relationships he had with people are gone: His sister with an addiction that sent her to rehab, his mom from old age (?), Fizz through a fight, and Verosika through Blitz being selfish. Moxie and Milly are doing their own things, and Loona is going out to her do her own thing too, as a result, Blitz feels he'll be all alone. Also Blitz acts like Stolas just wants to be with him out of transactional sex and being his boy toy, but I think Blitz also just doesn't want to hurt him or Stolas abandoning him (the song is a nail in the coffin in Blitz's belief). On the otherhand, Stolas at first only saw Blitz as a plaything, but started to develop real feelings for him. He tries to support him and isn't affected by Blitz's past. But the bad thing is that Stolas doesn't know what others are feeling as he caused his relationship with his Stella and Octavia to break. The relationship is very complex and that's what makes this plotline of the show great, we want to see it fixed. Also Asmodias and Fizz are voiced by James Monroe Iglehart and Alex Brightman, which they (and other cast members) are Broadway stars. James as the Genie in the Aladdin musical and Alex as Beetle Juice in the titular musical. James also voiced Vortex in Hellava Boss.
2 things: A)It's Asmodeus B)That other person in the picture is not Blitz's mother, it's his older sister Tilla. She was in a poster that was later changed but thus far her relationship to Blitz and Barbie hasn't.
Did anybody notice the tear in Blitz's eye as he was talking to Stolas in the van? Blitz was trying to hold it together until he got home and could break down in private. Been there, done that.
He was put on the spot in front of a roomful of people by someone who if I'm not mistaken is much higher up on the totem pole than he is I don't blame him for freezing up
Honestly, Blitz kinda brought it on himself. Not only two completely different people (Verosika and Fizz) were talking about how nasty of a person Blitz is, both romantically and morally-- which means there must be some sort of truth in their accusations-- at that point, Stolas had kinda figured out that Blitz had only invited him to spy on Millie and Moxxie, plus treating him rather poorly/ignoring him during the whole "date". Also, Blitz tried to stand up for Moxxie, true-- but that wasn't his place to do so. Asmodeus was talking crap about Millie and Moxxie's relationship, Blitz should not have interfered, it's THEIR business, their marriage to defend (Millie made sure of that herself, in fact), which he cannot seem to respect, along with the boundaries Moxxie has been trying to set. Blitz literally set himself up for failure and public humiliation, but this time he dragged Stolas along. Sure, Stolas has his own, big share of blame, but the act of covering his face was probably to hide the shame for HIMSELF and his own actions (towards Stella and Octavia). But even if he did so because he was ashamed of Blitz, right then... I mean, he has a point? I would surely hide myself as well, if people saw me with someone literally described as a selfish, tedious disgrace by everyone, and who also used me all night for his own gain.
I mean he was ignored and used as a way to spy Millie and Moxxie by Blitz Blitz by defending Moxxie ( which is nice but not his place at all in the scene he should have said nothing) has bring the spotlight to him and by extension Stolas who didn't ask nothing Stolas was indeed already figuring out that Blitz used him to go in the club, then you have Blitzo's ex saying basically that he is an assh*le, a selfish guy in term of relationships and other nice stuff.... It is humiliated and even more because Stolas got humiliated too when Asmodeus talk about Stolas' own insecurities If Stolas had no doubt about himself and his relationshio he would have defended Blitz but it was not the case at all He didn't ask to come to a date where he would be ignored and then humiliated by the club's owner ^^"
I'll preface this by saying Blitzø himself is DEFINITELY an active roadblock to the Stolitz destination- his self harmful tendencies, the belief he doesn't deserve to be included in all those happy pictures in his apartment, and the fear of intimacy and the hurt it MIGHT cause is all something he really needs to work through in order to succeed at a relationship with Stolas, which both he and Stolas deserve... HOWEVER, comma. I do believe a lot of reactors cut Stolas too much slack because "Funky Bird Man With a Crush! So Cute!!" In a lot of scenes previous to the episode, he's been shown not to take Blitzø seriously / potentially hold some unconscious bias towards Imps- he interrupted his work to establish a sex schedule in return for continued use of the Grimoire (Episode 1, to establish the deal in the first place), interrupting Blitzø while he was trying to establish that he takes his job seriously (episode 3, when he told Blitzø that he was "so CUTE when you are serious!"), constantly calling him Blitzy even though Blitzø has asked him not to (calls him Blitzy in every episode he's in so far, and was asked by Blitzø not to in episode 5), doesn't take Imps nearly as seriously and unintentionally insults them ( "Where's Blitz? He's my knight in shining armor not you LITTLER ones" episode 2, "greetings....tiny...little wrath imps!" Episode 5), and in the previous episode, in D.H.O.R.K.S. HQ, he chides Blitz for being caught and specifically mentioned them being Imps when asking if they aren't being careful. And of course, in this episode, he might have tried comforting Blitz, but it was after a crucial moment- Blitz looked at him for reassurance during the song- he looked to Stolas, seeing if Stolas would fight back. Say that Blitz wasn't just "a thrust" as Asmodeus labelled him. But he didn't. And Blitz took that as the case closing- to him, that meant yes, he really is just a bed warmer to Stolas. We, as the audience, know this isn't true because WE got to see Stolas eating Depression Dinner and watching a soap, and his resulting excitement when Blitz called. We know what his state was before that phone call, but Blitzø had no idea. The Stolas he sees and hears is already put together- he's never seen behind the mask like we, as the audience, have. I'm not accusing Stolas of being demon-racist or whatever, and I am DEFINITELY not excusing Blitzø's entire ass museum worth of issues, I'm just saying that Stolas has had his FAIR share of accidentally being a dick right alongside Blitzø.
28:45 this particular time stolas is making his feelings known, however think back to every other encounter we see with him, he is a really really thirsty owl usually. entirely possible that blitz assumes that is all he wants in exchange for the book,
I think that too, bc Octavia say "Why we need guards?" And no one appaers to kill after this, also he got really pissed when the imps assassins tried to attack him when he was with Octavia, like it was off line.
I love how when he was talking about Asmodeus' design he said "he has 3 heads like Cerberus" when the traditional look for Asmodeus DOES have 3 heads already
I think Blitz is partly right about Stolas. Sure this episode he was looking for romance but every other time he calls Blitz it's a booty call. The closest thing they had to a date was when they went to Looloo Land and all he did was talk dirty to him. So from Blitz's perspective Stolas just wants some to lust over. And it didn't help that Stolas hide his face when everyone found out. Like "Oh everyone he doesn't want people to know about me? This is just a game to him."
Blitzo doesn’t trust love that’s why he’s afraid that stolas will eventually leave and that’s why he pushes himself into moxxie and millies lives aswell because he’s afraid of being left alone
26:03 I see this as a very realistic reaction by blitz, he had all of his previous emotional wounds ripped open by that roast so him rejecting stolas’s advances makes sense.
How much of Stolas’ gestures did Blitz actually SEE? How many times did Stolas belittle him in the past (if unintentionally)? Was Blitz there to see how miserable he was alone in his mansion, and how overjoyed he was getting ready for their date? I’m sorry, but NO. Stolas DID NOT CONVEY his feelings, and now they both feel used and alone. Stolas waited too long to try to ask for something more. Their worst flaws kept them from reaching the joy they desired.
One thing I've never seen anyone talk about is the fact that the first picture on Blitzø's phone is of him and Stolas and Blitzø was the one to take it. Idk maybe most people find this insignificant because we already know that he does care abt Stolas (as much as he hates to admit it) but I just find it rlly sweet! Idk 🤷🏻
That episode was so painful to watch, and put contrast to how while Millie and moxxie are a little mock by their deep love, they are the healthy couple, blitzo clearly loves people but is completely blind to people loving him I like the detail on the club, specially the summoning circle that reads asmodeus in stage, like he can always just poof to the stage
28:50 If you listen to Stolas’ song “Look My Way”, this is definitely the right take. Blitzø simply doesn’t look Stolas’ way, and cannot see Stolas’ true feelings therefore.
Blitzø and Stolas unintentionally hurt each other so bad in this episode and it hits even harder after the Look My Way music video came out 🥲💔 Also I looove when reactors notice how Blitzø scribbled himself out of his pictures, it's such a quick and easy to miss detail. Another is that if you look closely, when he is talking to Stolas in the van at the end, Blitzø is holding back tears and has to take a sec to compose himself before responding. And he drove him home despite the fact Stolas can teleport. Many also miss that first pic we see on Blitzø's phone where he took a selfie with Stolas while he was sleeping, and he has such a soft smile on his face.
Note that when called out, Stolas tried to leave Blitzo in the club. Stolas might want a relationship with Blitzo, but on some level he's still ashamed to be seen with him. That's why when he tries to reach out to him after the song, Blitzo pulls back. He's very aware of what is functionally his inferior status beneath Stolas, and Stolas is unconsciously reinforcing this relationship all of the time by calling him "blitzy" and ignoring him when he tries to set boundaries. So Stolas isn't blameless in this, he is in fact hurting Blitzo's feelings. But it's also true that Blitzo is self destructing too; he doesn't get the fact that Stolas is trying to reach out to him in a loving way because in so many of relationships he's been an exploiter, and he's aware of that fact. Poor Blitzo, just doesn't grasp the fact that he's actually worthy of love.
Some extra background: Just like Stolas, Asmodeus is based on a demon of a real mythology, the same mythology even: The Ars Goetia. Asmodeus is the 32nd demon of the Ars Goetia (Stolas is the 36th demon in it as bonus lore.) Asmodeus is one of the 7 great kings of hell who represents one of the 7 deadly sins, mainly Asmodeus represents lust and is responsible for twisting humanities sexual desires. Other traits associated with Asmodeus is Lechery, Jealousy, Anger, and Revenge. In the Ars Goetia, He is said to have the appearance of a man with a serpents tail, and 3 heads. one head looking normal, while the other heads are a Bull and a Ram. He is also associated with Dragons, as he is often depicted in old pictures as riding on an infernal dragons. Similar to how Stolas will teach knowledge about the stars and space, precious stones and plants to someone who summons him, if you summon Asmodeus it is said he will try at first to deceive you, but if you can outsmart him he teaches the art of Arithmetic, Geometry, Astronomy, and other Handicrafts. He can give full and true answers to your commands and can render a human being invisible if that is their desire. Asmodeus governs 72 legions of inferior demons and spirits. He is considered to be a fallen angel, and his original angel name was Asmodel, the angel of the month of April, and Patience who rules the Zodiacal sign of Taurus
A few tidbits to add to this episode: -In the Book of Solomon that describes the demon princes and the embodiments of the seven deadly sins, the Ars Goetia demons (Stolas) have a rivalry with Asmodeus (Lust), so Stolas was publicly shamed by a political rival -The Sins are above the 72 demon princes, so Stolas was in a position where he was being shamed by someone who outranks him, outmatches him, and on their home turf, so he was about as powerless as an imp in that scenario -The Lust Ring has constant rainfall as depicted in Dante's Inferno -The white marks on imps is their equivalent of scar tissue. When you see kid Blitz in the photos, he has no markings. Meaning he probably pissed someone off royal to earn that massive mark on his face -From Vivzie's profiles about her characters, the two women in that final picture are Blitz's sisters. An older mother-figure sister and (either his twin or younger) sister, Barbie Wire, who was in the circus with Blitz. No one knows where they are or what happened to them
This episode definitely opened my eyes to who Blitz is. It made me realize the reason he invades Moxie's personal life is to live vicariously through him and his relationship. It also must've hurt to see everyone else in healthy relationships, then come home to find Loona's note about going out with Tex.
He's probably also afraid one day Loona will leave him as well. His hallucination hinted at him being afraid of being alone. Its probably why he adopted Loona in the first place, to create a family for himself.
28:58 rewatching these and him talking about how he's always not noticing and looking the other way just hit really hard right now bc the newest releases "look my way"
This episode hit me REAL damn hard, was not expecting it to go like this. I know you probably already picked up on this, but I found it super cool that Ozzie is actually a generally nice guy especially for demon royalty, considering the way they kind of antagonized him, they also showed that the only reason he was upset was because Moxxie was singing about love in his club about lust, he even gave Mox the opportunity to change the song, and waited till they finished to kick them out despite having his lover temporarily knocked out. And I like how Wally has managed to make an appearance in almost every episode, first he's selling inconvenient torches at Loo Loo land, then he's looking for inventors for his business, then he's co-host of the pain games, and now he's the bartender at Ozzie's, my man really gets around. Also YES I absolutely adore how much work they put into all the background/side characters, that's partly why I loved the Hazbin Hotel pilot so much because there was so many cool creatures floating around. It was cool seeing the succubus gang pop up again and loved seeing the interesting animal creatures like the fire-breathing llama-looking girl. I would also gush about some interesting details about the development of this one, but I totally recommend you watch Diregentleman's video talking about this episode, they talk a lot about the actors and writing and such in a much better way than I could in a youtube comment
Why did that photo make him cry?" Well. His sister is in rehab and his older sister, not his mom is dead. So he's all alone After all like episode 6 said. "You're gonna die alone blitzo!"
Pretty sure Tilla is Blitz+Barbie's mom. If you zoom in on the pic with the 3 of them, you'll see Blitz and Barbie holding a birthday card, signed by "Moma". I know in the Pilot episode, it featured a poster where it included it with "The Amazing Imp Siblings", but when you go back to when the official series starts, the same poster is changed to "The Amazing Imp Twins" and Tilla isn't there. This is possibly because Vivzie decided to change that around. But now in the official series we have what looks to be like Tilla giving the twins a birthday card and signed it as "Moma" (Momma), it is heavily implied that Tilla is their mom.
What I love about this episode, is that it shows viv can do visually mature content with death and gore etc, but also emotional maturity, which is somthing difficult to find these days.
I've read this comment someone wrote about this show like "We'll lull them in with dirty jokes and curse words: and then right when they least expect it, BAM! RIGHT IN THE FEELS!"
The Symbol on his shirt is the M and $ so im assuming its Mamon. Hes also the one who roboted Fizz, also the teeth look the same so im pretty sure thats just older Fizz. Judging by the time gap between the two pictures i'm assuming they where friends (Or more) for a very long time.
If you go back, anytime Moxxie and Millie are being messed with by anyone other than Blitz, he stands up for them even if it's obvious it's more than likely going to backfire on him horribly.
remember when moxxie and blitzo had that bad trip last episode and they both promised to be better friends to each other? it looks like blitzo was actually trying to do that when he stood up for moxxie in his own way
This episode really made the quip from Moxxie hit home:"Does immaturaly insulting me make you feel better about your sad single life" Blitzø:"It actually does"
I really don't think Blitz is entirely to blame, considering in his mind where he stands with Stolas was more solidified when Asmodeus said 'You sold your life for a thrust' and Stolas hid his face, that signified to Blitz that that's what he is to Stolas, a thrust (even if Stolas does feel deeper than that)
As the prince says "You sold your life for a thrust" which hits really hard. Was what was gained worth what was lost? Maybe Stolas wants more to justify that it was worth it. Regardless of all that, Stolas failed when he recoiled into the menu. Can you really blame Blitz for recoiling back? Stolas hit him harder than Fizz and Verosika at that moment. My favorite part is when Blitz stands up for Moxxie, even though it lead him into a firing squad. He's earning points for that 3 way.
I watched all your reacts today. Thank you for making these! Youre so observant. I didnt even notice the pictures in the background, and the connections that you make and talk about helps me understand the show more. So thank you so much!!
UR ONE OF THE BEST REACTION CHANNELS IVE SEEN, i love how you comment on everything in depth and analyze the character designs and such, the thought behind the whole like metal things and also like, how you focus on backgrounds too, makes me want to start my project even more because theres people out there like you
Since i've seen noone else mention it so far, Pretty sure that Fizzarolli himself isnt robotic at all, there is however a line of robotic replicas of him, most of wich seem to be made to pleasure the demons that buy them going by what Fizz said this episode but then there is also the version used to entertain in Loo Loo Land, which is what we saw in episode two.
@Rach the white Mark's blitz has are equivalent of scars for imp and notice he has scars after circus and 2 pics of Fizz as young imps. It implies blitz and fix had an accident at circus and it could be why fizz has cybernetic parts because he took the worse of it and blitz got physical and emotional scars and its proably slso did something to his mom and sister since they were a circus family.
I get the feeling that Blitz would die for the I.M.P 's, even if he never will admit that. Becouse that is what people who hate themself would do. (Trust me on that)
It was really lovely seeing your reaction to this episode! You pausing to take in each detail actually helped me catch things I didn't see before, like Blitz's horse drawings and how he scratched himself out of each picture. It's so sad how he hates himself so much. This has got me hyped for part 2 of the finale!! I can't wait to see how everything fits together in the end.
the fizz in this episode is the real one. the one in loolooland was a robot clone. fizz mentions they produce robot clones of himself for profit. also this episode made me so sad for blitzo and stolas...stolas knows he genuinely loves and cares for blitzo...but he doesnt know how to show it because of his loveless marriage. but blitzo? hes in denial and self hatred...he pushes others away to save them from himself and to save himself. its a common thing to do for someone with a history of bad shows of love throughout their life...before blitzo could get closer to verosika he pushed her away by running off. he did that because he figured she would leave him eventually...and now hes doing the same to stolas...im sad
Imp city is a part of the pentagram in the Pride ring i believe sinners can’t traverse the rings they only reside on Pride ring plus the company exist for sinners so the office should reside in the first ring Pride.
Found this channel last night when I was looking for something to watch and wow! Some of the best reaction I've seen. The attention to detail is astounding, and the investment in the show is so good. I love the analysis of each character in moment, where I often find that annoying in other reactions I actually reapply enjoyed it here!
What really hit me in this episode is that this is the first time we ever see Blitz cry, I think. He's mostly just looked like a crazy, chaotic reaper of havoc and comedy, and this is one of those rare moments where we get to see the tough comedy mask drop and see "the window to his soul", so to speak. (But I also kinda cried when Blitz started to cry because I can lowkey relate to that)
I will say to be fair despite the genuine care and affection Stolas has for Blitz. He has really only shown lust towards Blitz in most cases. In pretty much every call we have seen up to this point Stolas goes on about what he wants Blitz to do TO him rather that what he want to do WITH him.

@@gamebird9354 well he is the ruler.
Fizz: You're so shitty for being so "sEnTiMeNTal"
Also Fizz: **points at tongue** this is making me gag, **looks at Ozzie** lets cuddle
And they’re giving us such a sad background clue that he’s put everything he loves around him… and made sure to remove himself from all of it."
Man this part, you really zeroed in Blitz's entire deal and it hit me so hard
Same I legitimately held my head back in awe of realization, such a valiant soul Blitzo has.
And the fact that nobody else I’ve watched has noticed this detail
Ow my. That's so sad. :(
Yeah when that Female Succubus sang that last part, someone pointed out in a review, the expression on his face.
@@nicholastheus863 eh

@@Airier That's a mood Arier 😭😭
While you're not wrong that up until now stolas his only wanted sex
He spent the entire episode actually trying to spend time with blitz and even tried to invite him inside to watch a movie
Stolas reminds me of someone who is in their first actual relationship nervous as hell says inappropriate things at inappropriate times and generally doesn't know what to do with himself
Starting to wonder if his marriage wasn't arranged and this is the first time he's been with someone he genuinely cares about
Adding this because I decided to go back and watch the second episode and during the argument he and his wife were having she never says the word cheat she's only angry that he slept with an imp how disgraceful that was
@@zombieslayer2016
I know that he does care about Blitzo and wants a real relationship.

Can't agree more.

@@joelsasmad Stella would never divorce Stolas, it would kill her rep and standing.
@@Ashurman666 Even if not officially divorced it is clear they are living seperately.
One could look at it as Loona caring enough to leave a message, but could easily be because she doesn't want him going full rambo look for her.
There’s something I’d like to mention in terms of Blitzo’s self destruction and faults:
Fizzaroli and Verosika singing about how he’s horrible and all may have some truth to it, but the fact is: they’re singing it like it was ALL his fault in ‘ruining’ their lives.
"Stolas had the chance to stand up for himself and Blitzo’s relationship, but hides away instead and can’t even look at him in the eyes during the song."
I think the main reason for this is because of the fact that it's sinking in, after being ignored and seeing numerous examples of Blitzos failures and selfishness in previous relationships, that Blitzo was just using him when he wanted to form an actual connection and relationship.

@@justinbouwer4859 well fizz got enhancements to his limbs to make him seem like a higher rank than he actually is
Fizz is just an imp, which is the lowest ranking demons in hell.
I think that due to him losing the ones close to him (shown at the end of this episode with the photo and subsequent crying) he doesn't want to let anybody close, afraid he will lose them.
i just realised fizzarolli says "robo me" when talking about the loo loo land, the pictures make sense
The new picture has the twins holding a card with 'happy berth moma'
So in the end...whatever happened was REALLY bad.

People assume something like this may have happened. A horrible accident that killed his mom, maimed Fizz and even scarred Blitzo. The white patches all over his body are actually scars. At the end of the song, the note that Ozzie and Fiz would have sung is STILL THERE! It's just faint and fades away like smoke

to be fair to blitzo hes obviously afraid that stolas doesn't actualy care because in his own mind blitz dosnt see himself as someone who someone can actualy love its what drove him to sabotage other relationships and this kind of thing is sadly rather common in people with anxiety and depression who have been hurt by people they trusted and loved deeply it leaves very deep scars and can lead to pushing away people who try to be there and show love and speaking from experience it can be very hard to break that thought process and him keeping the pictures of the good times isnt him ignoring the bad quite the opposite when he looks at those hes probably hyper focusing on the bad of how that person left or how he screwed up and drove the person away
"He's literally looking the other way every time"
Cue Just Look My Way...

2 things:
A)It's Asmodeus
B)That other person in the picture is not Blitz's mother, it's his older sister Tilla. She was in a poster that was later changed but thus far her relationship to Blitz and Barbie hasn't.
Did anybody notice the tear in Blitz's eye as he was talking to Stolas in the van? Blitz was trying to hold it together until he got home and could break down in private. Been there, done that.
But homie Stolas didn't defend him he hid his face that hurt man almost like he was embarrassed being with him for a instance
He was put on the spot in front of a roomful of people by someone who if I'm not mistaken is much higher up on the totem pole than he is I don't blame him for freezing up
But at the same time Blitzo tried to stick up for Moxie, in his way, but he tried...
I mean he was ignored and used as a way to spy Millie and Moxxie by Blitz
Blitz by defending Moxxie ( which is nice but not his place at all in the scene he should have said nothing) has bring the spotlight to him and by extension Stolas who didn't ask nothing
Stolas was indeed already figuring out that Blitz used him to go in the club, then you have Blitzo's ex saying basically that he is an assh*le, a selfish guy in term of relationships and other nice stuff.... It is humiliated and even more because Stolas got humiliated too when Asmodeus talk about Stolas' own insecurities
If Stolas had no doubt about himself and his relationshio he would have defended Blitz but it was not the case at all
He didn't ask to come to a date where he would be ignored and then humiliated by the club's owner ^^"
@@user-go3zr7hs1i agree with you
I'll preface this by saying Blitzø himself is DEFINITELY an active roadblock to the Stolitz destination- his self harmful tendencies, the belief he doesn't deserve to be included in all those happy pictures in his apartment, and the fear of intimacy and the hurt it MIGHT cause is all something he really needs to work through in order to succeed at a relationship with Stolas, which both he and Stolas deserve...
28:45 this particular time stolas is making his feelings known, however think back to every other encounter we see with him, he is a really really thirsty owl usually. entirely possible that blitz assumes that is all he wants in exchange for the book,
Fun theory: in the 2nd episode, Stolas hired the imp assassins to target him so he could watch Blitzo at work.
I think that too, bc Octavia say "Why we need guards?" And no one appaers to kill after this, also he got really pissed when the imps assassins tried to attack him when he was with Octavia, like it was off line.
@@bunnymaninc not to mention he can literally petrificate them, turn them to stone.
It even fits into the overall theme of the episode highlighted by Moxie and Millie's part. Love vs Lust.
Blitzo doesn’t trust love that’s why he’s afraid that stolas will eventually leave and that’s why he pushes himself into moxxie and millies lives aswell because he’s afraid of being left alone
Blitz hates himself hardcore
He must of somehow caused his Mom and Sister to get VERY hurt
Blitz flinched when stolas tried to grab his hand because stolas didn't defend him and tried hiding behind a menu when Asmodeus called him out
I loved how you also brought up those two faces stolas made when blitzø called him.
Idk 🤷🏻
The person doing the "fog horn" voice is Wally Waxford. His character is to be a "fog horn" country guy.
That episode was so painful to watch, and put contrast to how while Millie and moxxie are a little mock by their deep love, they are the healthy couple, blitzo clearly loves people but is completely blind to people loving him
I like the detail on the club, specially the summoning circle that reads asmodeus in stage, like he can always just poof to the stage
28:50 If you listen to Stolas’ song “Look My Way”, this is definitely the right take. Blitzø simply doesn’t look Stolas’ way, and cannot see Stolas’ true feelings therefore.
Blitzø and Stolas unintentionally hurt each other so bad in this episode and it hits even harder after the Look My Way music video came out 🥲💔
Also I looove when reactors notice how Blitzø scribbled himself out of his pictures, it's such a quick and easy to miss detail.
Some extra background:
Just like Stolas, Asmodeus is based on a demon of a real mythology, the same mythology even: The Ars Goetia.
Asmodeus is the 32nd demon of the Ars Goetia (Stolas is the 36th demon in it as bonus lore.)
Asmodeus is one of the 7 great kings of hell who represents one of the 7 deadly sins, mainly Asmodeus represents lust and is responsible for twisting humanities sexual desires.
He is considered to be a fallen angel, and his original angel name was Asmodel, the angel of the month of April, and Patience who rules the Zodiacal sign of Taurus
blitzo was humiliated as well. and him seeing stolas hiding his face in embarrassment for being outed sleeping with an imp must've hurt him a lot
A few tidbits to add to this episode:
-In the Book of Solomon that describes the demon princes and the embodiments of the seven deadly sins, the Ars Goetia demons (Stolas) have a rivalry with Asmodeus (Lust), so Stolas was publicly shamed by a political rival
-The Sins are above the 72 demon princes, so Stolas was in a position where he was being shamed by someone who outranks him, outmatches him, and on their home turf, so he was about as powerless as an imp in that scenario
-The Lust Ring has constant rainfall as depicted in Dante's Inferno
-The white marks on imps is their equivalent of scar tissue. When you see kid Blitz in the photos, he has no markings. Meaning he probably pissed someone off royal to earn that massive mark on his face
-From Vivzie's profiles about her characters, the two women in that final picture are Blitz's sisters.
Why did that photo make him cry?"
Well. His sister is in rehab and his older sister, not his mom is dead. So he's all alone
After all like episode 6 said.
It was originally the older sister, but it was changed to his mother.
The fact that ozzie didnt kill moxie and millie for pissing him off shows he has more patience than most demons in the show
Stolas's butler seems to have great social clout at Ozzie's
So I'm not the only one seeing that it's the same butler that Stella yeeted across the room in episode 2
Maybe Stolas gave him hell of a (lol) extra pay as a "sorry my wife abused you" thing?
What I love about this episode, is that it shows viv can do visually mature content with death and gore etc, but also emotional maturity, which is somthing difficult to find these days.
I've read this comment someone wrote about this show like "We'll lull them in with dirty jokes and curse words: and then right when they least expect it, BAM! RIGHT IN THE FEELS!"
The Symbol on his shirt is the M and $ so im assuming its Mamon. Hes also the one who roboted Fizz, also the teeth look the same so im pretty sure thats just older Fizz.
Judging by the time gap between the two pictures i'm assuming they where friends (Or more) for a very long time.
the dude saying "I say I say" wasn't blitz, that was Wally Wackford, a recurring extra we've seen in past episodes.
If you go back, anytime Moxxie and Millie are being messed with by anyone other than Blitz, he stands up for them even if it's obvious it's more than likely going to backfire on him horribly.
can I just say THANK YOU for getting reasonably angry and frustrated with Blitz in this episode because he was AWFUL to Stolas
remember when moxxie and blitzo had that bad trip last episode and they both promised to be better friends to each other? it looks like blitzo was actually trying to do that when he stood up for moxxie in his own way
Every musical does the plot through song. The only "musicals" not doing that are disney channel movies and japanese anime musicals
Thanks for doing my request ❤️🔥
This episode really made the quip from Moxxie hit home:"Does immaturaly insulting me make you feel better about your sad single life"
Blitzø:"It actually does"
I really don't think Blitz is entirely to blame, considering in his mind where he stands with Stolas was more solidified when Asmodeus said 'You sold your life for a thrust' and Stolas hid his face, that signified to Blitz that that's what he is to Stolas, a thrust (even if Stolas does feel deeper than that)
As the prince says "You sold your life for a thrust" which hits really hard.
That particularly series seems to get better with each episode! ^^
I watched all your reacts today. Thank you for making these! Youre so observant. I didnt even notice the pictures in the background, and the connections that you make and talk about helps me understand the show more. So thank you so much!!
😊👍
Btw,a true end credits they dedicate the episode in memory of animator Steven 'LemonyFresh' Dorian, who was the clean-up artist for several episodes.
UR ONE OF THE BEST REACTION CHANNELS IVE SEEN, i love how you comment on everything in depth and analyze the character designs and such, the thought behind the whole like metal things and also like, how you focus on backgrounds too, makes me want to start my project even more because theres people out there like you
Since i've seen noone else mention it so far,
Pretty sure that Fizzarolli himself isnt robotic at all,
there is however a line of robotic replicas of him, most of wich seem to be made to pleasure the demons that buy them going by what Fizz said this episode but then there is also the version used to entertain in Loo Loo Land, which is what we saw in episode two.
I could believe Fizzaroli giving himself cybernetics. Especially considering he built the Robo Fizzaroli's
Asmodeus is played by the Broadway singer James Roundglass who plays the Genie from the Disney Aladdin Broadway live shows.
I get the feeling that Blitz would die for the I.M.P 's, even if he never will admit that.
Becouse that is what people who hate themself would do. (Trust me on that)
He puts his arms in front of everyone in episode six and keeps them behind himself when the agents drew guns on them after pressing the red button.
The order of rings is Pride, Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Envy, and Sloth iirc.
☺
What really hit me in this episode is that this is the first time we ever see Blitz cry, I think. He's mostly just looked like a crazy, chaotic reaper of havoc and comedy, and this is one of those rare moments where we get to see the tough comedy mask drop and see "the window to his soul", so to speak. (But I also kinda cried when Blitz started to cry because I can lowkey relate to that)
21:10 i love fizz's binocular face here- so goofy happy
I will say to be fair despite the genuine care and affection Stolas has for Blitz. He has really only shown lust towards Blitz in most cases. In pretty much every call we have seen up to this point Stolas goes on about what he wants Blitz to do TO him rather that what he want to do WITH him.
THANK YOU! Stolas sends plenty of signs, Blitz just isn't picking them up, because of his traumas and history.
