If we notice or they ask we always show them the uni knot since its pretty universal. Y'all don't be afraid to ask the people working in tackle shops we usually want to help. Keeps you coming back.

When I was working, I improved my fishing tackle, someone got into my pickup tool box while is was parked at my son's house , someone got all my penn reels and best 2 section rods , plum down to my ultra lights for catching bait with . After my truck wreck , being disabled, cant come up with good fishing equipment very often. I'm glad to see you break down the tie methods, bit easier than my rheumatoid arthritis let's me do it now . The penn senators was king long ago, but modern reels are making penn prices drop some now . Maybe soon I'll build back, and catch big cats below the spillways again

already have caught a 30# Blue Cat off of these (going to try to get a 60#+ next year). th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 Definitely very strong, and sharp. Additionally, the gap is wide enough to actually hook a fish (not always the case with circle hooks). I purchased the 8/0, but probably should have got the 9/0 (they seem slightly smaller than other 8/0 hooks). Additionally, having the point in-line helps if you drift fish. I have yet to get a serious snag with one of these hooks.

Thank you for this, I'm starting fishing again after 20 or so years and have just began to gather everything I may need. Now I'm collecting the knowledge part and this was super helpful.👍

Great tutorial. I’m sure you’ve never done a knot video before but you did one of the best I’ve seen!

Hi Robert, thanks a lot for that input! As a recommendation I would also like to see a video of yours, where you explain a bit about open water boats, sizes and their engines!

BTW i do not live on the coast, I am rarely on a sailboat in the mediterranean. But I'd love to know more about smaller motor yachts. Greetz from good ol' Germany

Thank you so much!!! I'm planning to begin fishing and spearfishing seriously this summer, and all I needed is some good knots! There's so many of them knots that it's hard to find the good ones, but having the experience of a professional fisherman is a gift ;)
I like this kind of videos, just rediscovering the basics, keep it up!

Thank you for this information, it will help me tremendously! I use the knot for pulling wire or rope, takes a few secs and the line will break before the knot. It can be used different types of material and size.
