The move by Oscar Tully was brilliant. He showed Damon that he will not have an “inside” man to control the riverlands and that he will have to deal directly with him. He also made Damon do his bidding in killing Blackwood, strengthening his position with his bannerman and letting them see that it would be fruitless to go behind his back or usurp the “chain of command”. Not to mention the fact that he just forced the king Consort to do what he wanted. At this point, Damon realizes the Kingship is out of his league considering he just got outplayed by Tully in what was essentially his “first day on the job”.

if rhaenyra can talk to/with vermithor like that, what on Earth impedes her from bonding with him too and having two dragons to mount? he listens to her. also this points to a question that has been sitting with me from season 1 episode 1: how do the dragon caretakers work? the dragons don’t eat them, they have connections with them, they even obey them. i expect they feed them, saddle them?
I don't think the dragon keepers want to ride the dragons because it is against their code of ethics they are there to take care of them not ride them around especially to commit wars
"These people" are (low born commoners) and "mongrels" are (random person with first man or andal ancestry from dragon stone or kings landing sleeping with a dragon riding Targaryen) Contemporary views of racism make literally no sense in a medieval fantasy world with dragons and magic
if they had simply done this podcast in video format, this would have been the most viral podcast in the world atm difficult to just listen to an audio @gameofthrones

Yall used Ewan and Aemond so much during promotion but his screen time is less than a minute now, what was the point of tricking the fans? And pls don't ask to choose team black or team green anymore, there is no team green! Condal successfully destroyed it! It's Aemond vs everyone now.
I don't think the audience would ever have imagined that either Hugh or Ulf _weren't_ going to end up with dragons. I mean, it would have been a pretty d*ck move by Ryan and everyone to make us spend time getting to know these guys just to have them barbecued in the penultimate episode.
Jace is upset bcoz he suggested noble houses with legitimate blood ties to Targaryens, which makes a difference to him & the dragon keepers. Mysaria suggested low born illegitimate dragonseeds who have NO loyalty to the Targaryens and, in reality, showed up for the sowing with the sole purpose to elevate their social status. That really is dangerous and foreshadowing of possible betrayals 😖😖😖
I will say I didn't like how Rhaenera brought everyone into the pit at the same time. With little care for what could go wrong after seeing what happened the first time around.
In the books, they are brought in one at a time (and most are killed) but this wouldn't work in a show without getting repetitive and we get the point.
This episode did well than the last two. Im glad they didnt continue the relationship with Rhaenyra and the girl be kissed. It was awkward and wasnt working.
I'm so mad at Jace; he's a freaking hypocrite!!! He'll take a royal dragon-seed, but not a common one? Okay, I feel his pain, if any bastard with Targaryen/Velaryo blood claims a dragon, what is so special about Jace? Any bastard can claim the throne.
That is precisely why he is angry. She already did him a huge disservice by bringing him into a cruel world as a b*stard, but now she is undermining his claim even more. How can you be mad at him?
@@mauratlantean3002Exactly, and Jace was right in the end.Rhaenyra never thought of the consequences of her actions.Stupidly assuming that nobody will anything to her and because of that, knowing very well that she's in the danger didn't do anything to stop the Hightowers.Honestly she is very chick skinned and arrogant.
@@mauratlantean3002 Jace was the one that came up with the idea of finding more dragon riders; he didn't mind riders with royal blood, but has a big problem with low borns. I've since added on to my earlier reply.
@@Lovestoread73 I mean he is right tho, you can't give the only source of power of your dynasty to random b*stards, even giving them to non-Targaryen highborns was risky enough. His main issue with b*stards is as I described, it makes him non special
@@mauratlantean3002 You are exactly right. What the show never says but it's evidently in the books is that Viserys gave Rhaenyra's sons their dragon eggs as a public relations ploy, basically saying that he didn't believe they weren't legitimate sons from her marriage. Viserys, Daemon, and Rhaenys all claimed their dragons; Viserys's children all claimed dragons. It wasn't until Rhaenyra gave birth to her first “Velaryon” son and the gossip started that Viserys made a royal decree that an egg be placed in Jace’s cradle. If the egg hatched, it would be definitive proof that Rhaenyra’s son was Targaryen. (This makes no sense, since he would be at least half-Targaryen no matter who his father was. No one thought that the half-Targaryen/half-Hightower kids Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond couldn’t claim dragons.) Later in the same year, Alicent gave birth to Daeron. Viserys couldn’t admit that he only put an egg in the cradle of Rhaenyra’s son because he doubted the paternity, so he put an egg in his son Daeron’s cradle as well; this egg hatched into Tessarion. After that, cradle eggs were given to all the babies who came after Jace with the claim that they were reviving an old Targaryen tradition. Alicent even says in season 1 that it was "a miracle their [Jace and Luke's] eggs even hatched at all" as an oblique way of saying they aren't trueborn/legitimate Targaryen children. So the fact that Jace DOES have this dragon has been something he could point to for all these years as his claim as heir, his claim that he isn't a bastard. But he always KNOWN that he is one, and now if just any Targaryen bastard can claim a dragon, what the hell makes Jace so special and more deserving of inheriting from Rhaenyra? Hugh the Hammer will be riding the bigger beast, and suppose he decides to challenge Jace? He has just as much right if his mother is the illegitimate sister to Viserys and Daemon. So in the eyes of the people, why wouldn't they back one of their own, someone who has lived the kind of lives they lived? It's just like politics today. (Almost) Every guy who runs for president tells you how he came from modest beginnings with a family where both parents had to work to put food on the table and maybe they lived off of food stamps for a while. And I'm not saying it isn't true, because often it is. But there is a reason why they tell us those things, *because they want us to know that they have lived the way regular people do.* When someone like a Ross Perot or a Mitt Romney or a Mike Bloomberg gets up and tells you how many millions he's worth and how long he's been living the millionaire lifestyle...it doesn't go over that well. Saying "I'm rich because I know how to make money," tends to be heard as, "I know how to exploit the hard labor of others to make me my money." It would be the same here. Jace is worried the "coddled princeling" persona won't stack up against a hard-working shipwright or blacksmith whose daughter died (as a result of the blockade on King's Landing, no less). A prince with a dragon is to be respected. A shipwright with a dragon might be revered, and have more people raise banners in HIS name than in Jace's. And now blacksmith Hugh has the 2nd biggest dragon in all the land, and if HE decides he wants to take over, who is going to be able to stop him? Jace is right to be scared. And maybe Rhaenyra should have done a little more vetting and made sure that the people who came to her actually want to _serve her_ and not just get the hell out of King's Landing or be thrilled by the idea of dragonriding. And maybe make sure they are not holding any grudges because, say, their daughter died because they didn't have enough food to keep her going when she was sick. Hugh seems to see dragon claiming as taking a step up, making his wife a lady, having plenty of money. He sees this as social climbing...so yeah, Jace is right to be worried. His language is terrible, but he isn't wrong to worry.
Funny how Rhaenyra’s brothers are trying to steal her throne and even Daeron is mentioned as being nice yet he may get lumped in with Aegon and Aemond yet WHAT ABOUT HELAENA -RHAENYRA’S SISTER!!!

I think this was explained already - to do the scene properly they would have needed more than 15 cutaways as a) they are not allowed to simulate violence against minors and b) the minor can only be set for half a shooting day when the scene needed more time. Ultimately, they got the essence of the scene - the kid was killed and Daemond was blamed.
@@aguzman222"the essence of the scene" was the Sophie's choice between 2 sons. They chose not to do that. Hence why that episode will forever be shat on
Instead of making these awful podcasts and behind-the-scenes videos, you should focus all your effort on creating more episodes. Eight episodes per season is not acceptable.

For me, the show is much worse than the Game of Thones, sorry. Episode 7 was good as well as the one where Rhanenys died. The rest is BORING. The show runners have turned Season 2 into endless psychoanalysis of all the heroes. The most offensive thing is Damon's boring storyline lasting 2.5 episodes . Cameos are a good idea in themselves. @@ianschmitt4991 the dragon was claimed Daemons former wife. The whole reason why we have ownership in society it to pass it on to our progeny. @@ianschmitt4991 I think you confusing control with ownership, which may not be a apt definition since dragons are living beings with their own choice. I never stated they control dragons. You yourself stated Daemon wanted his mother’s dragon before Caraxes, but I’m sure he was given the chance to try to bond with it first and not get snaked by some cousin or he would have had some words. Are we watching the same show? Internal life and developing motivations are seeded and growing all over the place this season. Daemon Rhaenyra Agon Alicent Jace Larys Just off the top of my head in this moment.
ryan truly ruined fire and blood. he had one job. all he’s worried about is making the show different from the book. I am so over this show. now ryan is making the dragonseeds have targaryen decent????? seriously put the pipe down. in fire and blood jace ask any man to attempt to ride a dragon, in exchange for titles and land. the successful ones are known as dragonseeds. it is unconfirmed whether or not the dragonseeds during the dance are from targaryen decent. this makes the readers think about dragonriders in a different perspective.
It's pretty heavily implied that the dragon seeds are Targaryen bastards in the text when Mushroom brings them up in the first place. The only person who defies this in any conceivable way would be Nettles, but her parentage isn't known. They are called dragon seeds not because a few of them claimed dragons, but because that is a name for Targaryen bastards.
what you said is complete nonsense. The dragonseeds were implied to have Targaryen descent in the book. You're flying into an autistic rage over things you claim are different but are not. Ironic, one of the themes of Fire & Blood is how unreliable the historians who wrote it were, and here you are just as unreliable and flawed in your perceptions.

if rhaenyra can talk to/with vermithor like that, what on Earth impedes her from bonding with him too and having two dragons to mount? he listens to her. also this points to a question that has been sitting with me from season 1 episode 1: how do the dragon caretakers work? the dragons don’t eat them, they have connections with them, they even obey them. i expect they feed them, saddle them?
I don't think the dragon keepers want to ride the dragons because it is against their code of ethics they are there to take care of them not ride them around especially to commit wars
You can only claim one dragon. No one can ride 2 dragons at once. Rhaenyras dragon is Syrax and she cant claim another dragon as long as Syrax lives.
You can only claim one dragon
And Daenerys? @@asura7915
I think words such as "serve" and "calm" are basic commands to give dragons. Whereas, attempting to mount and ride a dragon are completely different.
As a black guy a chuckled a lil when Jace dropped the these ppl line and monguels. I was like this racist mutha......lol
😅
Right?!?
"These people" are (low born commoners) and "mongrels" are (random person with first man or andal ancestry from dragon stone or kings landing sleeping with a dragon riding Targaryen)
Contemporary views of racism make literally no sense in a medieval fantasy world with dragons and magic
I don't like Hugh. I mean, I respect him for his ambition, but he's definitely dangerous to Rhaenyra and thinks the world owes him.
if they had simply done this podcast in video format, this would have been the most viral podcast in the world atm
difficult to just listen to an audio @gameofthrones
Silverwing was just jealous. It's always Seasmoke of Vermithor, never her.
They did show Jace coming up with the idea in the previous episode though... He's the one who told her that they should look for more Targaryan riders. The bastards part is the only thing he disagrees with.
A win for us the lowborn, power of the smallfolk
We, the people !!

Funny enough an ambush is what felled Meleys and injured Sunfyre and Aemond almost let Silverwing lead him into one
Great episode. It has been a bit slow the last few episodes but this one was great. So many dragons 🐉 yes!!!
Yall used Ewan and Aemond so much during promotion but his screen time is less than a minute now, what was the point of tricking the fans? And pls don't ask to choose team black or team green anymore, there is no team green! Condal successfully destroyed it! It's Aemond vs everyone now.
Why didn't they ask about Sheepstealer and Rhaena🤔? We want Nettles!
Perhaps they kill off Rhaena and Sheep stealer bonds with nettles in the epilogue.
He told the Blackwood the crown can't be seen as involved in what he was going to do and he flew the Targaryan flag anyway.
I think I the red sowing also worked because of the sacrifices made. It seems you have to make a big sacrifice to claim a dragon.
I don't think the audience would ever have imagined that either Hugh or Ulf _weren't_ going to end up with dragons. I mean, it would have been a pretty d*ck move by Ryan and everyone to make us spend time getting to know these guys just to have them barbecued in the penultimate episode.
It would be so unexpected though and hilarious.
@@rsync9490 yes you're right 😂
This was amazing ❤
This plan CANNOT possibly go wrong 😂😉

Can someone ask Ryan C about “Nettles” and why she hasn’t appeared in the show
There was interview where they did ask him about it but said he was not ready to comment on that character.

G O T !!!!!
05:12 Scent of the Bastard, eau de parfume 😆😆
I will say I didn't like how Rhaenera brought everyone into the pit at the same time. With little care for what could go wrong after seeing what happened the first time around.
In the books, they are brought in one at a time (and most are killed) but this wouldn't work in a show without getting repetitive and we get the point.
Wakenya mpo?
I would love a video podcast please
5:50 thanks for being able to relate to my dummy mind 😂😂😂
Game of Thrones are dropping podcasts🤔🤩
Late to the party friend 😁. The GoT podcasts started with HoT D
No one thought that the half-Targaryen/half-Hightower kids Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond couldn’t claim dragons.)
Later in the same year, Alicent gave birth to Daeron.
Saying "I'm rich because I know how to make money," tends to be heard as, "I know how to exploit the hard labor of others to make me my money."
It would be the same here.
How many Kingsguard in KL are there with Rikard out with Alicent, Arryk dead and Cole out to Harrenhal and all of Aegon’s buddies fired/dead?

Funny how Rhaenyra’s brothers are trying to steal her throne and even Daeron is mentioned as being nice yet he may get lumped in with Aegon and Aemond yet WHAT ABOUT HELAENA -RHAENYRA’S SISTER!!!

Dragon seed? More like Dragon Feed! Dang..
Indisputable things are still happening, like maelor not being present during blood and cheese, or rhaenys bursting through the dragon pits, or nettles being replaced by rhaena. Ryan thinks he is slick.
Ok so wait a min Ryan, we can not properly adapt the B&C scenes from.the book ,HOWEVER, WE can come up with a Mom/ Son scene that was Not In the books cause that's what you wanted to see on TV??? DO I HEAR THAT CORRECTLY OR AM I TRIPPIN??😂😂😂😂😅

Deute. 18:10-14,
Once more I have to turn OFF your cackling laughing!
Instead of making these awful podcasts and behind-the-scenes videos, you should focus all your effort on creating more episodes. Eight episodes per season is not acceptable.
Series' budget is definitely not being deducted from show production so as to create podcast content, that's crazy talk. 😅Can't lie, I'd be mostly okay even if they didn't exist, and I'd be doubly okay with more episodes… but the BTS stuff? I head straight for my TH-cam notifications to watch 'em as soon as I'm done with the episode. They're awesome. 🙂
The host's voices are so difficult to listen to. Like children's TV voice actors or something.
But in this case, it would be better if our beloved’s Damon was freed sooner.
The only character who still remains interesting is Aemond.
You can steal a dragon. Aemond did it. Just saying.
Riderless dragons can't be stolen. Calling dibs isn't ownership lol
@@ianschmitt4991 the dragon was claimed Daemons former wife. The whole reason why we have ownership in society it to pass it on to our progeny. If it wasn’t stolen, why would he have to “trade a eye” for it. I guess you could say he didn’t steal the dragon but the chance to bond with it, but it’s still stealing.
@@dalepak1955 he jumped onto the back of a sleeping dragon and wasn't killed for disturbing it's slumber. the dragon isn't the reason he lost his eye, a little bastard with a knife was. Daemon wanted his mother's dragon, instead he got Ceraxes. The show's already diverged from the books portrayal of bonding. How you're still under the impression that anyone actually controls the flying nukes is astounding though
@@ianschmitt4991 I think you confusing control with ownership, which may not be a apt definition since dragons are living beings with their own choice. I never stated they control dragons. I was stating that I didn’t think it’s a free for all when a dragon rider dies. You yourself stated Daemon wanted his mother’s dragon before Caraxes, but I’m sure he was given the chance to try to bond with it first and not get snaked by some cousin or he would have had some words. Aemond stole the dragon, otherwise why try in the middle of the night out of view of the family. Sounds suspiciously like stealing.

House of the Dragon has been a mess since the very first episode. Fire Ryan Condal and cancel the show before he continues to butcher the story more 🤬🤬🤬
I have to admit i don’t like this season a whole lot, its mostly filler with occasional really important momenta that happen in the story to pave the way for season 2 and maybe 3 which are way more politic and battle oriented

Wtf, how are bolsheviks even close to what Rhaenyra is doing. Bad comparison. Please can I enjoy a podcast on fantasy show without a mention of my terrorist neighbour state.
Season one was decent. This season has killed the show for me. The characters are just shells that exist to give plot points and progress the plot. There is 0 real emotion in anything that happens.
Agreed. The writing is terrible. Yet, some people are being delusional and saying it's better than GOT at it's peak. That's crazy.

Ryan Conland >>>> Dumb & Dumber
ryan truly ruined fire and blood. he had one job. all he’s worried about is making the show different from the book.
