Their legal status (bastard/legitimate) is irrelevant, it matters whether they have dragonrider blood or not. All who descend from Targaryens have dragonrider blood, including Rhaenyra's Strong sons. But Addam, as far as we were aware, does not have Targaryen blood. Or maybe he does? I believe in the books there was a Targaryen woman married into the Velaryon house some generations ago, so maybe that's why Addam was eligible for a dragon ride. Velaryons are not a dragonriding family, as far as we were aware. There is a theory that explains it quite well: supposedly in the days of old Valyria dragons were bound to the will of humans by dark rituals that made one bloodline of dragons connected to one human bloodline. So that's why Targaryens can control dragons (except some wild ones), but no other remaining Valyrians can: there are Velaryons, Celtigars and countless Valyrian descendants in the Free Cities in Essos, but they aren't capable of controlling dragons.
Not the official podcast thinking the kiss between Rhaenyra and Mysaria being the most sweetest, tenderest moment ever right after Mysaria trauma-dumped and pledged her loyalty to Rhaenyra. The power imbalance, the upsetting timing, the implications. Rhaenyra overstepped big time in that moment. It was a transgression not a pure act of love or something... People are just so programmed.

That was the friendship between rhaenyra and alicent, before alicent got married. They were friends for way more screen time. Honestly, I was surprised, because I always assumed rhae was straight.
And that friendship fell apart when they were kids. Alicent had her first child at 14. They're in their mid 30s here. Rhaenyra has no one who understands what it's like to be a woman in her position around her right now. Just the support would be nice, it doesn't have to always be romantic. It feels hollow and like queerbaiting honestly
That isn't even Mysaria. You've simply made a new character for your fanfic season and used the name. Rhaenyra made the blockade, but people are praising her? They're mourning the dragon that crushed hundreds in the pit? I hate these writers.
The crown has a responsibility to feed the small folk. It doesn't matter to them that Rhaenyra has the blockade. It is the crown's responsibility to find a way around it to feed them. They need someone to blame and the Greens are closer and is easier for them to see that they're still eating good and even their dragons are well fed. So yeah, the woman sending the food so they don't starve is the one who gets their praise.
I thought the episode was good. The whole kissing thing was cringe though. We have a whole war going on we don't have time for this kind of stuff especially when they are giving us 8 episodes instead of 10. I think the writers are unintentionally making Rhaenyra look incompetent and the wrong person to put faith in when there is a war going on.
look what Rhaenyra did when she heard about a "unknown rider" on Seasmoke. she doesn't want to stand still and listened to other men, she goes and gets her dragon and takes off right away. her son cannot even talk or stop her. i called that "determined", one of leadership's needed trait. she didn't distract or second guess about what she needs to get done.
HBO fire Jason and Greta immediately before season 3 .They are both unfit .and there sick and sexually explicit talk is disgusting, and Jason's sexual comments and Greta's sexual comments are disgusting and completely inappropriate. Fire them Immediately HBO before season 3.
So understanding there is another dragon around after seeing the ground scorched and burnt carcasses makes her a smart cookie??? Oh, and what exactly were Alicent’s triumphs as a leader? Starting a civil war in a grab for power? Stop trying so hard to cheer for “girl power”, it’s lame.
Rhaenyra is heavily implied in the books to be a bisexual with her cousing laena and there are romantic undertones in between rhaenyra and alicent that all the actors have said theyve tried to portray so idk what u talking about they are also two women that feel alone and stressed out and that understand each other and enjoy their company is totally plausible for that to happen in secrecy and thats the same reason its not shown in the history books
@@brandcamacho2899 Also, Emma D'Arcy is nonbinary, so honestly, I'm just glad the show is finally utilizing the fact that their main lead in a show about a woman seeking to ascend as monarch in a highly patriarchal world is a queer actor. his dad is Velaryon, unless his Mom is....Targaryen (omg. who?!). his Mom is not "the queen who have never been".
Keep in mind that people are dumb af, and they don't know left from right.
Emma Darcy's character Rhaenyra needs to be very, very cautious of Sonoya Mizuno's character Mysara. Mysara is dangerous
"transgression"
you did see that it was mysaria who acted first when she seemed to have kissed rhaenyras necke while hugging? only after thst does Rhaenyra kiss her, and even than its wanted on both sided st this Moment
Dameon needs to get the army together and get is stupid ass back to dragon stone with it.
Addam of Hull is about to tell Rhaenyra he's lord Corlays son.
You know after playing as the queen Emma D'Arcy is a great actress, she definitely needs to get award.

I agree. Emma Darcy is one of of my favorite characters and I like lord Corlays and Beala and Rhaenya I liked Eve Best who played Rhaenys
Sonoya, you did a great job acting
Never thought I’d say this but I’m on team green now. Despite their failures they march forward.
Team Green FTW 🐉
2 young beasts?
1. Moondancer

has anyone noticed the similarities between the ending music and pneuma by tool?
Thanks!
I see Tool everywhere, but yes I did too. Haha
I always thought it sounded a little like the 28 days later theme

I would’ve been happier with the original ending to the Mysaria character in the first season
nah she’s been one of the coolest characters to watch this season
@@googoogaga2002 I don’t share that opinion. It would’ve been better had Rhaenyra come up with all those ideas herself. The whole Mysaria/ Rhaenyra angle is cringe.
@@cs5099Actually I think having the smallfolk's resentment of the crown personified is a good thing
@@meterothecrow6270 There was a way around that without utilizing Mysaria. It would have been everything to see Rhaenyra stand up and strategize on her own. I hate seeing her look to Mysaria’s ragged face for answers and validation. It makes her seem so weak.
@@googoogaga2002 im with you.
39:50 "I'm surprised Damon's visions are not in the books" The book is written as a Targaryen history book, not from any of the characters perspective so surely the visions would not be in the book... 😂 I genuinely had to pause for a moment after she said that. 🤦♀
I like Gayle Rankin's character Alys Rivers
lol, it was definitely not the intent, but you guys giggling at smallfolk fighting over lettuce is giving marie antoinette vibes :') poor people need to feed their families too lmao

I kind of look at Alys as Daemond's guide or spiritual advisor.
Team Black Team Rhaenyra
Cyclops? 😲😄 Alys gonna get in ur head like a mf come s3
Hess puting her chauvinistic female identity politics (and 'men bad" venom) above a faithful adaption of the story has been disastrous for this shows quality and its characters (ironically, she's infantilised Alicent and Rhaenyra).
You're all so convinced that 'female chauvinism' is everywhere threatening you.
Team Rhaenyra Team Black.
Emma Darcy needs to be very cautious of Mysara. She can't be trusted.
This woman who loves on everything f****** nervous me
Was hoping that Mizuno really spoke like Mysaria with that sultry accent ☹️

I didn't hate the he kiss actually. But an entire podcast about it is the queerbait you said you wanted to avoid
it’s not bait when they’re literally kissing, it’s just queer
@@googoogaga2002 Hmm I think you're right that it isn't exactly the right word but I was paraphrasing something Sonoya Mizuno said about the scene. So [sic] I suppose.
The kiss was effin cringe. Why can't we just have a solid female friendship borne out of platonic mutual respect and shared struggles? *sigh*
That was the friendship between rhaenyra and alicent, before alicent got married. They were friends for way more screen time. Honestly, I was surprised, because I always assumed rhae was straight.
@maddi459 Name one where they're still friends or there isn't some fracture or resentment.
@maddi459 You mean Leana who's dead and used to be married to Daemon and barely spoke a word to Rhaenyra?
So jarring to hear Mysaria talk in a normal accent.
That isn't even Mysaria. You've simply made a new character for your fanfic season and used the name. Rhaenyra made the blockade, but people are praising her? They're mourning the dragon that crushed hundreds in the pit? I hate these writers.
Go away and watch the pathetic rubbish literally everywhere else on every streaming platform currently.
That last scene was made only for pride money. No other reason.
So why Jace is rejected? He has good potential to rule.
It's cabbage not lettuce 🙄
bruh hope they get a x-scene with misaria and rhae.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
And the wokism reaches House of the Dragon yet again. A romance that wasn’t even in the novels
Yeah definitely ruins a series
Even if it's not "accurate to the books," this show is an adaptation, it has a right to diverge in areas where it sees appropriate to do so.
Lol, do you have nightmares about "wokism?" Do you, like, cry salty tears?
