I was there, second row from stage, paid a tenner for ticket 🎟
Me and a couple of buddies arrived in a white Ford Capri, haggled this guy selling tickets to 30 quid for 3 tickets to see the best concert I've ever seen.
I remember it took us over an hour to find our car afterwards as there were many white Capri's! Kept running upto them saying this is it, there it is, 😆
Great memory of my early 20s.

I was 16 when Freddie Mercury died. I had just got into Queen. The greatest band of all time. I am 45 now, and still there is no person or band that even comes close to the genious of Freddie and Queen. They were simply the greatest.

I wasn't much older than yourself, I only really started listening to Queen when they released The Works album.
Still the best band on the planet by far. Freddie Mercury is and always will be a legend.
Rest in Peace you lovely man!, such a sweet guy.

I was 16 years old, and this was the first live concert I had ever been to. Being in that crowd watching the wave of hands clapping to Radio Ga Ga as the sound travelled to the back of the crowd (we were in the first third near the stage) is one of the true highlights of my memory. Incredible band!!

Grew up 4 miles from the park, spent half my childhood at the skatepark that used to be there. Was best man at a wedding in the church by Knebworth house. Still live in the area. Used to take my kids there all the time to play at the fort when they were little, now they’re older, and understand who Freddie was, I took them to an outdoor theatre performance there a few weeks ago they couldn’t believe I was there that night with my dad, 16 years old, and saw Freddie’s last performance. Didn’t know the significance then of course. Still cycle past there regularly, and every time, I still think of Queen 1986. I miss Freddie. The all time Guv’nor at doing a show, 120,000 people in the palm of his hand. Really was a kind of magic.

I was at this concert. I saw them at Maine Road Manchester a few weeks earlier ..and on the spur of the moment, a few days before this concert i decided to drive down on the day (4 hour journey so an early start). I bought tickets just outside at the gate and walked straight to as close to front as I could.. which was very close to the stage! and after the concert walked back to the car (which was miles away!) ..and drove home. Got home at 4am.. absolutely knackered but what memories! i'm still reminiscing and enjoying the fact that i went to see the last live concert of this amazing band. Thank you Queen for giving me so many wonderful memories.

I drove 400 miles overnight from Scotland in my clapped out Ford Capri, stood all day for the Gig, then attempted to drive back up the road After it.........yeah right. 6 hours to get out the car park. Fell asleep numerous times in the queue. Hit the first service station on the M1 and zonked out in the car till morning. All the time watching our budget of around the zero mark. We were literally praying we wouldn't run out of petrol on the way up the road.
You know what though, i'd to it again tomorrow? It was the best time of my life.
As said previously Big Country were superb. Quo not so much. I felt sorry for Belouis Some, he got utterly pelted with missiles when he done 'Target Practice'.
Queen----well, what can you say, it was Queen. Out of this world, as usual. I had followed them all over the UK since the 70's.
A little side story i was right at the front next to Deacy, and never knew till a couple of years ago, about him throwing his bass at the Amps. Poor guy was going through a rough time. Bless you Deacy.

Queen, and Freddie Mercury took the world by storm. No matter wherever they went on tour, in the UK, or abroad, they had audiences, in the palm of the hands. Queen delivered show stopping performances, with the late, great Freddie Mercury's million dollar voice. Although, Freddie Mercury is no longer with us, and John Deacon has since retired, Brian May, and Roger Taylor are still performing as Queen today, in 2018, Queen's legacy will live on, forever. RIP Freddie, Mr and Mrs Bulsara, and Freddie's partner, Jim Hutton. 😥❤

Michael Asquith Oh yes! I was a poor girl from a poor family (born in 1948) and being from that family meant that the only noise that I ever heard that was called music was that of a small town evangelical church choir. It’s no wonder that I developed my interest in music only after I escaped the family in which I was abused (of which I seldom speak). Then came jazz, blues, Elvis, women’s music and at last British Rock-from the Beatles to Bowie & Queen & many more. Yes it’s a tale of deprivation but my rebellious spirit saved me.I am ever so grateful!

When people say do you have any regrets - it will be that i never go to see Freddie perform in concert. I know it won't be the same but i really am considering going to a Queen + Adam Lambert concert.......i just want the experience of being in an audience full of Queen fans shouting and singing along to their songs!!
