These two dry clutches share the work equally so they should last over 100,000 kilometres or 100,000 miles at least as a conservative estimate . This dry clutch design means that the worn clutch material never gets mixed with the oil to to act as a grinding paste in the gearbox. Therefore the clean and filtered gearbox oil lasts more or less forever. Even then the gearbox oil is continually filtered while the gearbox is in use .

Wet clutch does reduce wear and tear, but don't forget that dry clutch is made with that in mind. Also it will disengage even in "D" when at full stop and foot is on the brake to prevent wear. On the other hand dry clutch is more efficient power transfer and fuel consumption wise. Both have pros and cons. I'm at 110 000km, EDC, still as day 1. Only transmission oil change after 4y as planned by regular maintenance.

Oil change only required for wet clutch right?

@@ridehead8771 You still need to change oil in gearbox itself every 4y or 80 000km. About 500eur

@@L0vac Nothing in Owners manual about changing the oil, even Renault specialists in my area do not recommend changing it unless there's apparent issue. I don't know, my grand scenic is 12 years old with 95k miles and so far so good. Just had it remapped as well and now it flies lol can't believe how much it's improved especially 0-60mph.

@@ridehead8771 Depends on the model/year. I have a newer Talisman and for its edc revision, you have to do it, it's in official planned maintenance. If you don't have to, even better. Process and cleaning before new oil makes it expensive.

Renault, I know that this is a bit old, but won't this mean that there will be a wear of the 2 clutches? And therefore, the cost of replacing both clutches will be a lot greater?

Technically they will also only be used half as much since they never will be used both at the same time.

Bonjour je vient vers vous je vient d achetée un Clio 4 rs et à basse vitesse entre la 1-2 et la 2-1 j entend un bruit métallique je suis parti chez Renault j ai fais reprogramation d embrayage et de boîte et vidange de boîte j ai cru que ce bruit allé disparaître mais il et toujour et chez Renault il mon di ce bruit partira jamais par ce que c est une boîte robotisée c est normal qu’on entend le bruit métallique c est les pignons qui s enclenche dans la boîte et aussi quand je suis à l arrêt et je mais la marche arrière et je lache le frein j entend aussi un petit claque claque et sa aussi il mon di c est normal merci de votre aide si vous pouvait me répondre

In Mexico most of the Clio RS EDC 200 failed due to the transmission mainly to the computer. Also something is wrong in the programing because all Clios in Mexico the gas consumption is 6 KM per Litter using premium gasoline, this is very bad. Worst tune ever on a renault and the brand know about transmission issues which can put life in danger and did nothing.

Typically French, good-looking lady boy, big-mouthed Parisian. The problem is that this gearbox breaks down very quickly, and Renault recommends a change of gearbox so hang in there, it's expensive. What shit!
