I love paz
Santiago is so underrated. Superb player and he has been massive in the Pixies sound.
Self taught, learnt very late in life. Goes to show, hard work really pays
Agreed.
Nirvana is like going to a fast food place and getting instant satisfaction, whereas Pixies is like going to a restaurant waiting for your meal to cook, but the quality of food is better.
are you dissing Nirvana?
@@Beetle57 no, not really. I was in middle school when they became famous. My issue is with lazy media reporting saying they were original and they are not original. Even they admit that themselves. Yes I do like Nirvana. It really doesn't matter what I think.
U gonna wait an hour for your meal lol
Totally disagree. I dont know why everyone always lumps in Nirvana in with Pixies. Yeah, they were extremely influenced by them and had Albini record In Utero...but sonically speaking Nirvana were WAYYY heavier and their punk cuts were way more hardcore and raw. Just because a band or person is heavily influenced by something doesnt make them sound the same. I mean almost every rock band from 85 on was influenced by the Beatles, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Deepurple etc etc but they dont sound the same.
Greeta Van Fleet...Now thats fast food.
I disagree too. Nirvana was special. If not they would not have ever been so famous. Cobain had this aura no one will ever have again. And they were heavily inspired by the Beatles and Pixies. One of Cobain’s favorite album was Last Splash by The Breeders, and almost every Albini productions.
And indeed, I still don’t understand why people speak of Nirvana when we talk about Pixies. They have absolutely nothing in common.
It wasn’t even the same decade🤷🏻♂️
Thank you so much for watching, and the kind words. if you wanna message me at Northern Transmissions. You have won a vinyl. congrats XC
Paz is soo underrated
Whats her real name though? Sarah?
Really like her work in A Perfect Circle, as well
her really name is Paz, she born in Argentina. It's a name that we use here@@timebandit1266
Whenever I hear Paz or think of her performances, I always remember first hearing her play on Judith.
Same here!
And I LOVE how she is so NORMAL and unpretentious. What a great lady doing great things!
My question for a long time..is joey and paz in a relationship? Hahaha please answer me!
Well wait Paz, there was no relationship between John Cale and Lou Reed on Loaded, because John was long gone from the band. I WOULD like to see the interplay on this album alot too however esp with the Doug Yule thing coming well into play.
Yeah, thought the same. Nor was Andy Warhol involved.
But Paz...John Cale is not on Loaded. I think you meant the first one...
I went to that show as well, the Pixies opening for the Cure at Dodger stadium ! ! Also, about 2 years before that I skipped high school to see the Pixies play a free outdoor show in downtown LA during the day......I think it was their first time on the west coast(according to KROQ) ! !
What tour was the Pixies opening for the Cure, Doolittle?
@@Northerntransmissions Disintegration Tour - 1989
Very entertaining chat with a legendary band. Good work!
Joey is so cool
She is wrong and kind of right about Loaded. Cale played organ on Ocean which wasn’t made into the final cut of Loaded.
great interview ❤
Watching this video makes me feel like I’ve been eavesdropping on some of my best friends having a great bull session
Get Simulated is one of my two favorite tracks on this disc. What an amazing bass tone, no doubt a product of Paz's Moog Taurus pedal. It's such a slinky, sexy song. My other fav is Haunted House, which I really hope is their next single because of the awesome vocals by Charles and Paz. Haunted House is a great song if you're a backup/harmony singer because Paz gives you so much to work with on this tune. I can find NO songs on Doggerel that I don't love. I couldn't say the same for the last disc.
Every awnser from them the interviewer responds with that's a great awnser. Now I see why musicians get such big egos
00:40 Very nice..
Get simulated is the best song. It's one of the best songs of the Pixies whole catalogue.Doggerel is an amazingly great album
like in todays mail. Im going to the metric concert tonight. Hopefully amazon driver comes soon!
Get Simulated Is my favorite song from the new album too, It just hooked me up first listening
John Cale wasnt on loaded. He had left before it was made
Excellent , thank you.
The song h to h is brilliant
Brilliant......
