You kind of talked over it, but at 36:10 is when Bort explains what happened to his claw hand. He picked a mage's pocket and the mage cursed his hand and now it does whatever it wants on it's own is what he said.
what gives me chillsin that animation is the interaction between bort and thresh at 38:30 it just shows how much of a domenerring preasence he has that when finishing the line bort automatically just ends it with "Sir" shows just how effected bort was by his abuse and how terifying thresh is
Yordles actually are one of the most powerful creatures u can find in Runeterra. They are immortal, and when they die, they probably just respawn in Bandle City, because that place as no time and space. It's magical and no one can enter, except them. The only problem is they are very innocent and cheerful, so they don't really want to kill people. Also, they are the most annoying champions to play against, because they all have habilities that kinda "tilt" us xD Teemo for example, is one of the most hated champions because he poops poisonous shrooms all over the map and u can't see them. So u step on them, and u die.
that "raise him well," as she gives up her son to turn and do an epic "If I'm going down, I'M TAKING ALL OF YOU WITH ME!" fuck-off move is pure boss-mom badassery. Gets me every time
This is going to be a long comment, I will try to explain some information about the world for you and/or people interested in learning about the different regions. Before Glory: Demacia is equal parts Knights in Shining Armour (what we get a glimpse of here, even including a gratuitous dragon fight) and oppression of mages/magic. There is reasoning behind it (For those who know about The Rune Wars, it's that, but the comment will be long enough that I'm not explaining the Rune Wars as well), but they lock up mages in their magic-absorbing city and currently in the lore there is a revolt and almost civil war between mages/allies and the current government. I look at Before Glory as what Demacians think of themselves and their ideals, strong ties to justice and honour. They, for the most-part, all subscribe to the Aspect of Justice (Aspects are basically avatars of the gods that are free to walk among the people of Runeterra). The Raid: Freljord is my favourite region period. The people are broken into tribes all lead by Warmothers. What you are seeing in this video is Braum (technically tribeless but is unofficially with the Avarosan tribe, led by Ashe), he is with his cousin (not explained if it's actually a cousin or if he calls the people of the Freljord cousins, he's wholesome enough that I wouldn't put it past him to call everyone his family and genuinely mean it). They were attacked by another tribe (The Frostguard, led by Lissandra the Ice Witch, the Frostguard are usually seen as the evil bad people though they are really more just a darker shade of grey). There is another major tribe, The Winter's Claw (led by Sejuani who is the one on the boar in The Call cinematic) not shown, but they are the like survivalist people who still raid other tribes as well as Demacia and Noxus in order to survive. Braum's whole goal is to bring people together and stop the endless cycle of war and death, but that's easier said than done. None Escape: The Shadow Isles used to be called the Blessed Isles until Viego (bad guy in the Ruination cinematic) caused the Ruination by trying to resurrect his dead wife. Now with (spoiler for the Ruination event) Viego trapped in his home country, the most powerful of the spirits (such as Thresh, the one in this video and in A Night at the Inn) are free to roam the world without the Black Mist. I believe None Escape is set before The Ruination cinematic/event, so the plot here is that this family lights wards on the Isles for some reason, maybe to hold back the Black Mist from coming towards them (it usually crosses over to Bilgewater each year, which was the basis for The Ruined King rpg and the yearly Harrowing event (Halloween event). But, if you die in the Shadow Isles, you are added to the numbers of the undead. Undead are also incredibly hard to kill and have them stay dead. They tend to reappear on the Isles again after some time has passed. After Victory: Noxus was always the "We're evil war-loving people" region, so thankfully with the lore overhaul they became more of an "Aggressive Expansion" region who needs to conquer in order to feed their people. Noxus is built in a region that has little farmable land, but an abundance of ores to smelt into armor and weapons, so they have invaded almost every single region for people to add to their empire. Their capital is also the single largest structure on the face of Runeterra. I know the least about Noxus, apologies, but I believe it is most similar to a Meritocracy, with a "Trifarix" (three headed), almost democratic heads of state. After Victory, while sharing a similar naming scheme to the Demacian video, shows their views on monarchies or other autocratic governments. Side note: the girl is not a champion in League, but she does appear as a common card in the card game where these videos are made for. True Genius: If you've watched Arcane, you know a lot of the backstory for Piltover/Zaun. Arcane is not fully canon, but a lot of the info is correct. Piltover has hextech, but Zaun has Chem-tech (kinda referenced in Arcane with how the game room/arcade place ran on the greenish liquid). Chem-tech is cheaper but more volatile if I remember correctly. This video is mostly a nice way to show that all three of the characters are geniuses in their own right. Jinx saw it as a great way to cause more mayhem (in-game Jinx is based on Harley Quinn/the Manic Pixie Dream Girl theme), Ekko saw it as a great way to get around the undercity and have fun, and Heimerdinger saw Ekko's work and fixed it, but changed it to include flight capabilities. IT shows off that P/Z are all about technology. The Lesson: My all-time fave of these cinematics. Ionia is tied very heavily to the spirit world and to nature. Everything is alive there including the buildings. If you want a house, you nicely ask a tree for one and it will shape itself into a house for you. If you piss it off, it will strangle you in your sleep. It's a really neat area with a lot of eastern-style themes (ninja, samurai) and it's where a lot of the furries are from (Vastayan, being a decendent of a nature/animal spirit and a human. This video is about the Kinkou Order, who preserves balance. On first watch you may think Shen (blue ninja) is telling Akali (headstrong ninja) to let the kid die, but his words were to make Akali think about what Balance truly means (equivalent exchange, not attacking Noxians because they deserve it). Shen is a protector of life so I don't think he'd let the guardian kill the kid, The Lesson was for Akali to grow, not for the kid to learn not to cut guardian trees. Double-Double Cross: Bilgewater is all pirates, bounty hunters, monster hunters, with a tinge of undead during Halloween. There are native inhabitants, the Buhru, but Bilgewater is governed by (depending on the time period) the Saltwater Scourge (also known by his name Gangplank), or Captain Sarah Fortune (Miss Fortune). In the lore, Miss Fortune's mom was a famed gunmaker in Bilgewater, so Gangplank as he was rising the ranks to become Reaver King decided he needed a set of guns from Momma Furtune. I forget why there was an argument/why she refused to give Gangplank his guns, but Gangplank murdered Miss Fortune's mom in front of her, but also didn't take the guns he had ordered. MF took those guns and became one of the most feared bounty hunters in Bilgewater, and during an event (Burning Tides) MF seemingly blew Gangplank and his pirate ship out of the water, and then took on the mantle of Captain Fortune, Queen of Bilgewater. Call of the Mountain: Talks about Targon. Not a lot to say about this one, it just shows a lot of the cool af cards in the Targon expansion. It also shows Leona (gold, Aspect of the Sun) and Diana (silver, Aspect of the Moon) and their eternal struggle against one another (they were once lovers, but their aspect powers put them at odds. The Vaulted Road: Shows more of the dichotomy between the Solari (sun-worshippers) and the Lunari (moon-worshippers). Also that in the card game you need both daybreak (empowers your first card of the turn if it has "Daybreak" on it) and nightfall (empowers cards if they aren't the first one played if it has "Nightfall" on it. Also shows a bit more about Leona and Diana's relationship. They don't want to fight, and there is a parallel between the star-crossed lovers. Empires of the Ascended: The Ascended are warriors with god-like abilities. They also take on animalistic qualities. Shurima uses Egyptian and African themes, where they used to be a grand empire but after the murder of their beloved emperor (Azir, the bird-like person in front of the sun disk) it got overrun by monsters from The Void and a lot of people died. Azir was resurrected using blood of his kin, and I believe he is trying to rebuild Shurima into the power it once was. Lots of tombs and artifacts in Shurima. The two giant creatures (Jackal and Croc) are actually brothers, but the croc has gone insane. Don't Mess with Yordles: They live in Bandle City, a sort of pocket dimension with portals to different regions. Most all of them (looking at you, Vex) are joyful and happy people. They're magical creatures that don't seem to age or die. When Corki is flying over Piltover, the thing behind him is Jinx's invention from True Genius. A Night at the Inn: Not a lot of info here, just Thresh looking like a daddy now that he's free from the Shadow Isles (because it's taboo to show skeletons in China, they redesigned him for Wild Rift, this is why he's different). Also, my guy talking over the explaination for Bort's claw hand (pick-pocketed a mage who turned his thieving hand into a claw with a mind of its own), then proceeds to ask why he has a claw hand (just teasing you).
A couple of mild expansions here, particularly for Noxus. Noxus is Runeterra's version of organizations like House Telvanni from The Elder Scrolls, The Tevinter Imperium from Dragon Age, or Slytherin House from Harry Potter - good or evil isn't really the right metric here. They revere strength and ambition, whether that be strength of arm or sharpness of mind, and whether your ambition is to commit genocide or to bring peace to the world - it is all equally valid. This has been the core of Noxian philosophy all the way back to the time LoL had the Institute of War, before the lore rework. They aren't actually against autocracy or tyranny, so much as they are against _hereditary_ titles. Because they base everything off of merit, the idea of someone inheriting a title without qualification is abhorrent to them, and that king clearly wasn't qualified because Noxus conquered his kingdom. But all of that is surface elements, because Noxus is perhaps the most diverse of all of the nations of Runeterra and there is interplay between the factions within Noxus. This is part of why I say that good and evil aren't exactly good metrics for Noxus, because there are Noxians who are unequivocally evil and that is without getting into the multiple ancient evil beings that are imprisoned in Noxus. Mordekaiser (his name means "King of the Dead," so no surprises for what he does) who is (possibly) a demigod is imprisoned within the Noxian capitol, and so was Raum, the Demon of Secrets. The major flaw in Noxus is that strength is no guarantor of goodness, and Noxus does not discriminate between good and evil, only the strong and the weak. Second, in Shurima it would be technically accurate to call the Ascended "warriors with god-like powers," but it is accurate in the same way that all squares are rectangles. It might be true, but no one would call a square a rectangle and expect people to immediately understand what they are talking about. While the Ascended were once mortal warriors, through a process that is far too complicated to explain here, they were raised to be actual - if fairly low level - demigods or gods, and that "fairly low level" part doesn't really apply across the board. There is a type of being called Darkin that are corrupted Ascended and it is canon that the Darkin Aatrox killed the Aspect of War, which was basically at the top of the tier list for powerful beings in Runeterra. So, sure, they are "god-like" in the sense that, as gods, they are like gods. Tautological, but true. Shurima is another complicated place, partly because a good chunk of it is Noxian land now and partly because while Azir might be trying to rebuild the Shuriman Empire, no one really wants it back besides him. The tribes that live there, outside of Noxian land, aren't interested in surrendering their autonomy, the Iztal people have their own kingdom that is doing just fine, and the Noxians didn't conquer the lands, but were invited to take them, and have no plans of leaving without a fight. And this is leaving aside that the remaining Ascended aren't unified, and more than a few want nothing more than for Azir to die, and at least one is completely insane, or the fact that the Darkin are still around in one way or another, and they want _everyone_ to die.
Hello there Its my honored. So far thank you and all of new comers in this fantasy world. As the League of legends = Runeterra lore lover i am glad you become one of new fans. Arcane season 2 will come maybe in 2024/25 and they allready started working on other series from other regions. May the force be with you. And may you lead the force. 🖐️
18:17 (shen) the teacher had everything under controle the whole time. it was probably him that let the seedling grow in alot of ways. the plant grew, akali ( the student ) grew and the little boy grew. All that and you still think hes kind of an idiot :D SS+ teaching ^^
If your talking about nasus and renekton (the Anubis and Sobek characters) they are fine they are just brothers who fight occasionally due to a misunderstanding. They are playable lol characters so they have a bit of plot armor atm.
Aye, Riot Games definitely has one of the best animation teams out there. Too bad the community suffers from the same curse as any competitive environment. Resentment and toxicity

Lmao, every time you say "its not bad" while looking at some of the best goddamn animation ever 😅

5:26 It's an edit. The village isn't at the bottom of the avalanche. It's a different place. They've clearly travelled a bit

37:26, he explained it at the start of the cinematic
Luckily i'm a person to go back and check it out👍

You gotta check out the WoW Cinematic Trailers
please watch all the champion cinematics next. i would love to see you react on them!
27:30 i think they did jump off , its a more stylised version of Romeo and Juliet tragic ending . they died there and became constelations
If you have a longer comment on the video, just stop it for a few seconds because you'll miss what's actually on the video.
No "Breath"? :O
recommend looking up some of Necrit's videos if you want to learn about the Lore.
Definitely need to react to Annie, one of the best league cinematics there is.
They died I don't think that Riot will show them falling but they died. Especially if you know mythology.
If your talking about nasus and renekton (the Anubis and Sobek characters) they are fine they are just brothers who fight occasionally due to a misunderstanding. They are playable lol characters so they have a bit of plot armor atm.
@@Samuel_Axaeon Pretty sure they're referring to The Vaulted Road cinematic
